Maybe those vacations, the half dozen, or so, parties, and the several rounds of golf during the 9-11-style BP oil spill didn’t play out so well with the American public after all?
Obama’s approval rating hit a new low today.
Rasmussen reported:
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 24% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-four percent (44%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -20 (see trends).
Forty-eight percent (48%) of Democrats Strongly Approve while 75% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 12% Strongly Approve and 52% Strongly Disapprove.
These results are based upon nightly telephone interviews and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. As a result, today’s results are based almost entirely on interviews conducted before the president’s speech to the nation. The impact of the president’s speech will be seen over the next several days.

Prediction: Any bump in approval the President receives from his speech will be minimal and temporary, and will do nothing to to prevent an almost certain further decline. All across the country, more and more people are coming to the conclusion that Obama is a fraud. Even the MSM rats are beginning to jump ship.

Since we are still declining and things are getting worse and worse his numbers can only keep decreasing and America will wake up faster and faster.

When you read results from telephone polls, please keep in mind how many people look at the caller ID and say “No Thanks.” What percentage of those “highly approve?” My guess is few to none.

I’d like to see the demographic of that quarter of the population that thinks the Blowhard is doing a great job. Undoubtedly, it includes everyone getting handouts from the government: Section VIIIers, union slugs, college professors.

Well, we’ll see what happens from the speech. Like pamlinson #3, I always can’t believe that his ratings are not worse.
Also, the approval-disapproval (as opposed to strong a/d) is at -15, 42 approval and 57 disapproval, I think that’s the worst yet. For Obama, that is.

The oil spill is kicking Obama’s ass.
Until now, his poll erosion was due mainly to Marxist policies that Americans hate. But polls have long shown that about half of the Democratic Party’s base is reliably Marxist, whether they acknowledge it or not. So that 48% Strongly Approve number is not unexpected.
But Obama’s reaction to the oil spill is destroying any fantasy Democrats have about his competence or leadership, and he’s bringing the whole Party down with him. As this thing grinds on and the 2010 elections loom, Democrats will have only one place to direct their anger.
George Bush’s poll numbers plunged to historic lows when a large segment of his base finally gave up on him. We could see a similar scenario play out in fast-forward with Obama’s poll numbers. When that 48% begins to desert him, he will be a political corpse.

Cross-reference with the most recent Gallup poll, and we can easily see where Obama is getting his support (in decreasing approval rating):
Blacks (89%), Hispanics (62%), Postgraduate education (57%), 18-29 year olds (56%), Not Married (54%), <$24,000/year income (52%), East region (51%)
(And note: Gallup's methodology differs from Rasmussen's. Gallup shows total approval/disapproval at 46%/46%, while Rasmussen shows 42%/57%.)
So, basically:
1) Blacks
2) 18-29 year olds
3) Poor/unemployed
4) White-guilt academia
5) Unmarried
6) Super-Rich
Important demographics not approving of Obama:
1) 65+ year olds
2) The middle-class income earners
3) All education levels below post-doc
4) Married

Obama’s Approval Index is at -40 for unaffiliated voters.
I’ve been playing with the given numbers, and Obama’s overall approval/disapproval for Unaffiliated voters is somewhere between 44%/53% and 20%/77% – likely, it is around 26%/71%, based on the most-likely estimations.
That is stunning. Obama has utterly estranged the undecided-voter base.
Total estimated approval/disapproval breaks down like such:
R: 11% approve, 89% disapprove
D: 84% approve, 16% disapprove
U: 20% approve, 77% disapprove

When he gets into the 30s’ he’s toast. The 30s’ are kind of a “Mendoza Line” (baseball fans will understand the reference) where there’s little hope.
Liberals will begin fleeing him like rats from the ship based on a theory of self-preservation.
It’s enjoyable to enjoy libs and radicals suffer, but the reality is that all this drama is at the expense of our nation.

There is always whispering in Washington. John Batchelor’s primary sources are often journalists. I’d wager this is what some of them are whispering about Obama right now. As troubling as it might sound, much of it can be found in the narrative of various news stories. And it isn’t a great leap from how many people view Obama these days. Disturbing and mesmerizing whispering that the Oval Office is the scene of stormy and romantic melodrama between POTUS and his most senior and trusted advisers. Whispering that POTUS is sleeping poorly and is much aggrieved at slights, shortfalls, interruptions. Whispering that POTUS is vulnerable to jet lag. That POTUS has returned to chain-smoking. That POTUS hesitates to heed his advisers, because POTUS frets that he is being sand-bagged by experts, allies, confidantes. Whispering that POTUS frailties most in display in West Wing settings. That POTUS evidences a Nixonian persecution mania. Can any of this be confirmed? Not easily. Less detailed, POTUS is said to express his opinion to pals in Chicago that he dislikes his job. Wilder whisperings that some pros are now weighing that POTUS try an LBJ exit after one term – rather than face a Carter collapse.

1 in 4 voters “strongly approve” of the socialist takeover of America…
and less than half of the voters “strongly disapprove” of being ruled–yes, ruled–by a gang of Chicago thugs–communist thugs, at that–who bribe, threaten, lie and throw temper tantrums to get their way; who ridicule the people who are forced to pay their salaries; who steal from people who haven’t even been born yet; who blame everything on somebody else, and demonize everyone who doesn’t hate this country as much as they do; who think a country can be run with nothing but platitudes and hot air from the ivory-tower crowd, while engineers, ranchers, fishermen, inventors and business-owners deserve only punishment; and who cram everything from “death panels” to “queering of the schools” down our throats whether we like it or not….
