Obama Administration Defends "Jihad" — "Mein Kampf" Means "My Jihad" in Arabic (Updated)

Last week Barack Obama’s top Counterterrorism adviser announced that the administration believed they “jihad was a legitimate tenet of Islam.”
FOX News reported:

The president’s top counterterrorism adviser on Wednesday called jihad a “legitimate tenet of Islam,” arguing that the term “jihadists” should not be used to describe America’s enemies.

During a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, John Brennan described violent extremists as victims of “political, economic and social forces,” but said that those plotting attacks on the United States should not be described in “religious terms.”

He repeated the administration argument that the enemy is not “terrorism,” because terrorism is a “tactic,” and not terror, because terror is a “state of mind” — though Brennan’s title, deputy national security adviser for counterterrorism and homeland security, includes the word “terrorism” in it. But then Brennan said that the word “jihad” should not be applied either.

“Nor do we describe our enemy as ‘jihadists’ or ‘Islamists’ because jihad is a holy struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam, meaning to purify oneself or one’s community, and there is nothing holy or legitimate or Islamic about murdering innocent men, women and children,” Brennan said.

There’s something very dark and concerning about this.
The German words “Mein Kampf” translate to “jihad-i”—or, “my jihad”—in Arabic.
Would the Obama Administration defend Hitler, too?

More… Via Instapundit: IT’S THE THIRTIES ALL OVER AGAIN — Time To Blame The Jews! “Consciously or not, our President — with his increased, and pompously self-righteous, pressure on Israel — has sent a message to the world. It’s time to blame the Jews. And the world, in economic extremis, is all too eager to find someone to blame.”

UPDATE: This came in the email today–

Dear Mr. Hoft,

Allow me to begin by expressing my admiration and appreciation for all the work you do on behalf of the conservative cause and your tirelessness in bringing to light news and information that our servile and culturally Marxist court media would rather not go near; I’m a huge fan of yours, with subscriptions to your Facebook, Google Reader, and Twitter feeds, and have countless times posted or emailed your articles, much to the sheer annoyance of my beloved yet still benighted friends and family. However, as an American Muslim of Egyptian ancestry with a decent command of the Arabic language, I wanted to bring to your attention a slight error in the aforementioned post: The title of the Arabic translation of Mein Kampf pictured in the above post is actually Kafahi (My Struggle). Otherwise, I agree wholeheartedly about the sheer ignorance and dangerous intellectual dishonesty of John “Gentle Jihad” Brennan; in my 28 years, not once has my mother asked me to undertake jihad against junk food or nailbiting, nor do I consider myself a mujahid for fighting encroaching adipose tissue on a daily basis at the gym. Thank you very much for your careful consideration, and please keep up the good work.

Best Regards,

Thanks T.

    After the term Tawhid (monotheism)

Jihad is the 2nd most common term used in the Qur’an…

& No not the Taqiyya (A Lie which advances the cause of Islam) spew about Inner Struggle,

Jihad as in smite the Kafir’s above their shoulders sense of Jihad mentioned in the 8th & 9th Sura’s.

The 8th & 9th “Sura’s” or chapters of the Qur’an are widely viewed as 2 of the most relevent because they were believed to be among Muhammads last “revelations”.
According to the rules of abrogation applied to the Qur’an, revelations are given their import by when they were received… Therefore a revelation Muhammad had in year 1 of his mission has no application if something revealed to Muhammad in year 23 contradicts it.

Most of Muhammad’s later revelations dealt with waging war against the non believers (Kafirs). So in that respect yup it’s a pillar of the religion alright.

he’s right in one sense, jihad simply means struggle, and in a general sense it is the struggle against sin and temptation, a struggle to be virtuous in life. Mein Kampf just means struggle as well – struggle to dominate and be the uberman Nietzsche described.

    You’re what’s known as a useful idiot.

You really should do some of your own studying on Islam, Hadithe & Sharia. You have picked up the enemies propaganda & are running with it.

No one who actually studies Islam buys the crock of poo poo you’re trying to peddle.

Save that nonsense for the less informed cafe au lait & college dormitory crowds.

No worries. Eric Holder is on the job. What could possibly go wrong?

    Just What We Need

Earlier today, Attorney General Eric Holder reassured Muslims that the dark days of oppression are behind us.

Kampf simply means “struggle” in German. Still, the attitude of Obamites to ignore the true realities of words is another example of their idiocy.

Would the Obama Administration defend Hitler, too?

okay, unless i am deaf, dumb, blind, and had
    a lobotomy, i don’t believe that is a question..

    Obama fancies himself a Hitlerstorian

[In 1933 the German establishment thought it could use Hitler to restore a modicum of order to the confused and confusing Weimar Republic. In fact, Hitler did strengthen the German establishment, but not exactly in the way the bankers and businessmen had wanted; and now, fifty years later, it is clear who was using whom. Nevertheless, the Western World did not complain in 1933 because Hitler, though a fascist and a totalitarian, was seen, like countless American puppet dictators today, as someone who leaves the established order in place.]

    Young Obama Wrote Article Blaming
America For ‘Growing Threat of War’

[If Obama still has this sensibility, he could be poised to take American foreign policy sharply to the left, notwithstanding the centrist foreign policy team he has assembled. Moreover, since Obama didn’t recognize the Soviet menace during the Cold War and blamed the possibility of war entirely on the United States, there’s good reason to think that today he could lack the moral clarity needed to fight radical Islam.]

The Obama administration would fall on their knees in front of Hitler.

I can see Obama flying to Berlin to visit Hitler in the Reichskanzlei and then say what a great guy Adolf is. “That Adolf,” Obama says, “he surely loves his dogs. Great guy!” On the question about what Germany is doing with the Jews Obama states “Jews? What Jews? There are no Jews in Germany.”

I can see Obama sending a letter to Hirohito and Tojo in which he would apologize for not having the aircraft carriers in Pearl so that they could be send to the bottom of the sea as well.

I can see Obama telling the French, the Dutch, the Norwegians, the Danes, the Poles, the Czechs and Slovaks, the Belgians, the Croatians, the Slovenians, the Serbs and the Greek “You brought this upon yourselves.” (not adding Austria, cause he would be right with that)

I can see the Obama administration surrender unconditionally after Normandy, Iwo Jima, Midway, Pearl or any random battle in Europe or the Pacific that ultimately led to freeing millions of people from fascism and mass murder.

Kampf simply means “struggle” in German.

It’s not so much the name of the book, but rather what’s written inside. The koran calls for killing infidels. Mein Kampf also shows clearly what is to come if one follows Hitler. It’s all in there.

After WW2 people said “We didn’t know.” Oh really? After reading the book of the Führer, how could anyone NOT know?

Mein Kampf still sells extremely well in mohammedan countries. And many mohammedans love Hitler for what he did. Also, let’s not forget that Hitler has a mohammedan SS division. Hitler and Himmler both praised islam on numerous occasions.

    Not really, no.

Jihad is the holy war, the war waged against infidels to spread islam. The same war that cost Christianity the arch from Constantinople down to Cairo.

Mein Kampf is the layout for what was to come.

I have a copy, in German, which is actually illegal in Austria.

minor correction (what’s in a name huh??)..

    should be: IslaMarxism

    just a sample:

    Marx and Islam

    Marxism Makes Way for Islam

    How Marx turned Muslim

Islam, the Marxism of Our Time

Isam & Marxism – A Marriage Made In Allah’s Socialist Paradise

[The self-righteousness of the neo-Marxist fascists is such that they strongly believe they are justified (even in their “antiwar” personas) to violently attack and/or intimidate any who disagree with them.

It just so happens, that these tenets (multiculturalism, political correctness, and radical environmentalism) represent three of the four pillars that are the foundation of an evolving epistemological, ethical and political strategy that the socialist remnants in the world have conceptualized and implemented to prevent their ideology from entering the dustbin of history.

And, what is most interesting is that, even as they encourage and enable Islam with the first three pillars; the Islamofascists are aiding and abetting them by using the fourth pillar- Terrorism.

We can think of the four pillars as the reason why we are witnessing a socialist revival (e.g., Hugo in the western hemisphere recently) and the rapid advancement of the Islamic Jihad all around the world.]

Obama favors an unholly alliance between Marxism and Islam

Sayyid Qutb: The Karl Marx of the Islamic Revolution

[“there is no doubt he was audacious…. His words were sharp sometimes. His expressions were sticks of fire.. . . His pencil was a whip. The one who sees him does not believe that he is the same person who writes. . . . For with people he was milder than the breeze…. With the paper and the pencil, he was a hell which does not cool off.” Similar sentiments were often voiced about George Orwell, who was gentle in person but vitriolic in print.]

I guess from Obama’s standpoint the blockade was a failure because its goal was to bring in arms and bombs to destroy Israel.

Where is this investigation of the incident? I guess the White House has already seen the videos so they know the answers–no need to investigate. Time to get on with an Israel less Middle East.

  • Sandy

The key to this is Congressional Democrats. We need them to stand as one against Obama and this insanity. Maybe he thinks he doesn’t have to listen to Congress either. Then Impeachment is the answer.

  • Freddy

Would the Obama Administration defend Hitler, too?

Why would the Democratic Socialist Workers Party NOT support the Nationalist Socialist Party?

As for ‘blaming the Jews’, Obama learned all he thinks he needs to know about Jews from that great religious mind he worshipped with for 20+ years. I am of course referring to the honorable Jeremiah Wright.

    What could possibly go wrong?

    correct link for IslaMarxism

[again, that was just a sample, there are many more links, just Google any combo of Marx (marxist/marxism) & Islam (islamist/islamism).. even an article with data dating back to 1985, yes, they are several decades ahead
of US, they’re entrenched in every aspect of our government, educational, judicial, etc institutions.. and as more & more are becoming cognizant of,
in our White House.. didn’t even touch on the “social justice” alignment, which more or less apes Sharia Law.. aka: Political Islam, of which many Muslims & non Muslims alike consider to be civilizations ultimate enemy]

posted this many times (maybe this time it’ll snap some dhimmi out of it)..

Jihad: From Jakarta To The Whitehouse

[When I first saw the recently released Indonesian translation of Barack Obama’s book “The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming The American Dream”, over here in Southeast Asia I was completely taken aback not only by the violent imagery in new title of the book, “Menerjang Harapan: Dari Jakarta Menuju Gedung Putih”, but by the fact that it was not really a translation at all, but rather a completely different title than the original book.

A correct translation of the title of Obama’s book would have been “Keberanian Harapan: Pemikiran Untuk Meraih Kembali Impian America” which translates into “Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming The American Dream”. However, the title for the Indonesian translation of Barack Obama’s book is “Menerjang Harapan: Dari Jakarta Menuju Gedung Putih” which translates into “Assault Hope: From Jakarta to the White House”.

The problem with direct translations is that often times they never make sense. The words “menerjang” (assault or attack) and “harapan” (hope or expectation) make sense when used separately, but used together, the term “menerjang harapan” makes no sense in Indonesian. But while the term makes no sense, it does however present a mental picture to the native Indonesian speaker, the imagery of a “hopeful assault” a “struggle for victory” or to put it more bluntly, a “jihad”, or as the Indonesians see it, Obama’s “jihad” for the Whitehouse. For the native Indonesian speaker, this figurative language creates a mental image whereas the translation
of the book’s title can actually come to mean “Jihad: From Jakarta To
    The Whitehouse”.

Why would the publishers drastically change the title of the book for the Indonesian translation and make use of such figurative language? Your guess is as good as mine, but it would seem that Barack Obama is quite interested with promoting himself in Southeast Asia as a crusader for the cause of Indonesia’s Muslims.]

btw, Obama took “menjaji” classes, and speaks perfect Arabic..

and you take it or leave it, but try not to be too distracted by words & their meanings.. sometimes actions can & do speak louder than words, and for whatever it’s worth, both Obama’s words & actions tell US all we need to know, and though we may hear what he has to says, we’re just not listening..

    (you/we/we’re = in general)

Did you ever wonder why Muslims want to kill all Americans? I found this article a few years ago that explains it all. It is chilling! Usama bin Laden himself uses the word “Jihad”.

Notice that Usama bin Laden issued this “religious”fatwa 3 1/2 years before nine Muslims hijacked four passenger planes on 9/11 and purposely crashed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania.

Do I think all Muslims follow this fatwa and want to kill us? NO. But tell me please, how are we to know which ones want to destroy us and which ones do not?

    Jihad Against Jews and Crusaders

The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies — civilians and military — is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it, ……….We — with Allah’s help — call on every Muslim who believes in Allah and wishes to be rewarded to comply with Allah’s order to kill the Americans and plunder their money wherever and whenever they find it.
