Unreal. America’s worst president Jimmy Carter is worried that the Supreme Court’s ruling yesterday will affect his work with terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah.
Let’s hope so.
CNS News reported, via Free Republic:

Former President Jimmy Carter has voiced concern that Monday’s Supreme Court ruling on “material support” to terrorist groups may criminalize his “work to promote peace and freedom.”

Carter, whose advocacy has entailed contact with groups designated by the U.S. government as “foreign terrorist organizations” (FTOs) – notably Hamas and Hezbollah – said he was disappointed by the court decision.

The high court, in a 6-3 decision, upheld a federal law that forbids providing “material support” to an FTO, ruling that it can be applied to U.S. organizations whose engagement with terrorists involves promoting non-violent solutions to conflicts.

The law, part of the post-9/11 USA Patriot Act, forbids the provision of any aid, defined as including “service,” “training” or “expert advice or assistance,” to a designated FTO.

Of course, it surprises no one that a democrat would be concerned about his terrorist ties.

  1. Small quibble – Jimmah Carter is no longer America’s worst president. The Current Occupant has not only overtaken, but lapped him.

  2. hahaha

This shows that Jimmy al-Carter knows who Hamas REALLY is.

  3. Why does anyone pay any attention to Carter? He’s clearly ” out there ” as far as cogent thought for years. Even ex-presidents can be nutballs.

  4. Given Obama’s record as President, I think we should change Jimmy Carter’s title to “Worst President Emeritus.”

  5. The ruling surely will not stop SOBama and his masters from their direct cooperation with Al Qaeda to destroy America.

  6. Poor Jimmah…can’t help terrorists kill more innocents. I really feel for him, I really do.

  7. This shows that Jimmy al-Carter knows who Hamas REALLY is.

Good observation, Mats. It seems few care to analyze what this idiot(Carter) is implying.

  8. Maybe Jimmah will finally go back to the farm, shut up and sip his Geritol.

  9. That Carter thinks he can work with terrorists proves that he has lost touch with reality. To continue to do the same things again and again, expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity.

  10. This HAS to be “An Onion” piece!

    Doesn’t it???

    Isn’t it???

OMG – It’s sooo much worse than I thought it was!

  11. who are the 3 SCOTUS justices that dissented?! that is my question.

As for J-ummah Carter, well, what is left to say?

  12. Actually , the ruling may mean that Bill Ayers and his lovely wife have cause for concern. They were promoting the Flotilla to Gaza recently that was stopped by the Israel blocade. One would think this activity woudl constitute material support.

  13. Don’t hold your breath waiting for the DOJ to charge them.

  14. The exact same reason no taxpayer dollars should EVER go to Planned Parenthood! Yeah, yeah, yeah – it can’t be spent directly on abortions.

Well – DUH – it frees up their other money to be spent on abortions.

  15. Planned Parenthood – performing Jihad in the womb!

  16. Carter, like his successor in malcompetence, Zero, is disappointed that a few forms of Treason have been sufficiently detailed in law that he cannot hope to excuse it with “lofty” self-serving rhetoric. As could be predicted, Breyer, Sotomayor and
Ginsburg gave their votes to the credo that treason and other malfeasance is alright as long as the perpetrators are well-intentioned. Fortunately, the right-thinking and the semi-reasonable justices recognized the careful way in which the law was drafted to steer clear of infringing consitutional rights, and declined to relegislate it.

  17. Jimmah is now the ex-worst president. However, he still holds the title of the worst ex-president. I look forward to the day when he is runner-up to that one as well.

  18. Every time Carter opens his piehole, I thank God once again for Ronald Reagan.

  19. JIMMEH’s peace and freedom apparently includes a lot of dead Jews.

Why isn’t this guy in a retirement home?

  20. bull! malibu is the worst president ever. Without a doubt the dumbest.

  21. obama is the worst president in american history.

  22. He should be more worried about the sentence God Almighty will pronounce on him soon oh yea, real soon….

  23. Jimmy Carter set the bar as the worst president in history… until Obama has clearly proven he is the real Limbo King; now Carter, bless his pointed little head (microcephaly?) is trying to lower the bar even further. Is there a statute of limitations on stupid?

Has anyone else considered that we may have elected the wrong brother?

  24. Ted Knight in Caddyshack: “Oh, Billy, Billy, Billy…”

  25. Carter redeemed himself by forming Habitat for Humanity, but then he shot himself in the foot by coming out of retirement during the Bush administration. The libs dug him out of the grave, wound him up, and let him stagger around flapping his gums and PROVING he was the worst president ever. He must be pretty happy now that he’s only the 2nd worst.

Justices Breyer, Ginsburg and Sotomayor dissenting.

  27. Jimmy Carter didn’t start Habitat for Humanity. He was merely a figure head that lent his image to it.

    Degeneration of Democracy

    by Thomas Sowell

[Put differently, a democracy needs informed citizens if it is to thrive,
or ultimately even survive. In our times, American democracy is being dismantled, piece by piece, before our very eyes by the current administration in Washington, and few people seem to be concerned
    about it.

The president's poll numbers are going down because increasing numbers of people disagree with particular policies of his, but the damage being done to the fundamental structure of this nation goes far beyond particular counterproductive policies.

Just where in the Constitution of the United States does it say that a president has the authority to extract vast sums of money from a private enterprise and distribute it as he sees fit to whomever he deems worthy
    of compensation? Nowhere.]

a must read the whole thing!!

  30. Nice photo.

  31. Chief Justice Kennedy, in writing the opinion, said that the ruling isn’t about freedom of speech, it’s about providing “material resources and support” to terrorist organizations as defined by the Secretary of State.
Since Hamas is listed as one of those “terrorist” organizations, I guess that Obama’s promise of 400 million has to be included in “giving material support.”

  32. So, can we have his wrinkly, demented ass arrested yet?

Has anybody ever bothered to ask Mr. Carter whether he has read the foundation documents of these organizations?

He may have redeemed himself in the pubic’s eye with his Habitat for Humanity work but his redemption may not have been deserved as he may have had an ulterior motive for Habitat for Humanity. Because Islam forbids Muslims to pay interest on loans, even mortgage loans, a good number of Muslims have purchased their homes through Habitat because Habitat will reduce the price of the home by the interest amount. In other words, for Muslims, Habitat pays the interest on the homes.

  35. I’m still pissed at that amphibious rabbit for not finishing Jimmuh off.

    When’s Carter going canoeing again?

  36. Lillian Carter once said, “sometimes when I look at all my children, I say to myself, “Lillian, you should have stayed a virgin.”

Thank you Lillian Carter for your honesty. Billy was always smarter than Jimmah, but they were both liberal buffoons.

  37. all those years in the georgia sun harvesting peanuts and sipping billy beer does something to a man…..

The 3 were Justices Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor. Shocker.
