Police in Dearborn, Michigan arrested Christians last week for handing out Christian literature:

Via Powerline, so insane is this that I’m paranoid there’s a key detail missing somewhere that might explain the whole thing. Could the Christians have been trespassing on private property, maybe? Sure doesn’t look like it, and in any case, they weren’t arrested for trespassing. They were arrested for “disorderly conduct,” which apparently now extends to the offense of offering religious literature to someone who might not want it.
No wonder the far left and Islamists get along so well.

I’ll bet that the Dearbon Police have no justification other than the PC fears of an ‘outraged’ muslim ‘community’ thinking it’s an Inqusition Revival. There’s probably NO LAWS in Dearborn regarding the passing out of religious literature.
They’re being arrested out of fear. I’m sure the local newspapers will headline this abridgement of religious freedom…in favor of Dearbornistan.

Supposedly the police also confiscated cameras so that the incident couldn’t be recorded. This whole new rage of “you can’t record police” is bullcrap. It’s not wiretapping, and they have no expectation of privacy out in public. Cameras receive LIGHT and SOUND that are being reflected and emitted by the police–fair game for recording in my book.

Atlas and Jihad Watch are reporting that all the Christians did was walk onto the festival grounds. Last year they were warned about handing out tracts.
It was dubbed an “Arab Festival,” not an Islamic Festival. I guess Dearborn is a no-go zone for Christians.

In a reverse psychology kind of way, this is emblematic of how to attack Islam, and I don’t mean Islamism, radical Islam or any other of our current post-modern constructs. Where Islam is most vulnerable is in its scriptures, the koran, haddiths and suras. When those little tidbits of Islam, like Mohammed’s sex with his 9 year old bride come to the fore, people may just say to themselves, “Hmmm, are you sure that’s a religion?” That’s why muslims are so dead set against being prostelitized. When they lose control of the “message” that thin veneer of religion begins to wear through and the underlying supremacist political ideology becomes apparent. And that ideology is what must be attacked and, if not destroyed, driven into worldwide disrepute.

On the one hand, Dearborn has become quite the Muslim enclave. On the other hand, there are many, many Middle Easterners in SE Michigan (Dearborn included) who are NOT Muslim, but Christian. Lebanese and Iranian Christians fled their violent Muslim countries for peace here.
Before the Muslim influx, Dearborn was Polish-town. Still is, in lots of places.
I lived in neighboring Ann Arbor and have many wonderful friends still there and in Dearborn. So I’m not wild about the suggestions of nuking Dearbornistan. I much prefer Pamela Geller’s “Leaving Islam” ad campaign, PLUS lots of careful and vigilant monitoring by the feds.

There is no Islamism. There is no radical Islam. Just like there is no moderate Islam. Islam is Islam.
Remember after 9-11 how the Mohammedans danced in the streets all across the world.
There are moderate Mohammedans. But there is no moderate Islam.
The difference between radical and moderate Islam is a myth spread by Western apologists. Nothing about Islam is moderate. Muham the Mad (aka Mohammed) himself was not a moderate person. The so called “holy book”, the koran, is full of hatred, full of orders to murder and maim.

When the cops persecute Christians for even looking in the direction of a muslim or handing them a few sheets of paper you know the cops are either a. muslim b. afraid of muslims c. fear for their jobs because of p.c. over lords, or d. just plain stupid. In any case they are WRONG!

I for one wish they could arrest anyone handing out religious literature because for me it is offensive weather it’s Muslim Literature, Jewish Literature, or Christian Literature. Please pass a law so the Jahova Witnesses can’t knock on my door early Sunday Morning!!!!
