Class Act: Obama gives Memorial Day Greeting to rain-soaked supporters on a bus while vacationing in Chicago.

ABC tried to prop up the vacationing Obama on Memorial Day by bashing Bush.
The American Thinker reported:
The ABC News report on the rainout of President Obama’s planned Memorial Day speech in Illinois noted that Obama had been criticized for not staying in Washington to go to Arlington National Cemetery. But ABC provided a ready excuse, subtitling its report “Obama Not First to Skip Arlington on Memorial Day” and asserting that George W. Bush “did not attend in 2001 or 2002.”
ABC was flat-out wrong about 2001, and highly misleading about 2002.
In 2001 Bush was at Arlington National Cemetery. In 2002 Bush commemorated Memorial Day at the Normandy American Cemetery, where 9,000 Americans are buried. He was in Europe for the week.
(ABC has since updated their hit piece from yesterday.)

Lie on memorial day when people are watching, meeting, and may even discuss the lie as though it were fact. Backtrack on some other news cycle when no-one even hears about it.
Typical ABC PROPAGANDA!
Like watching ABC questioning Jindal about small government on sunday morning.
ABC is simply dishonest.

I’m surprised Tapper let this stay on the website for the length of time it was up. The editors at ABC are obviously carrying the White House water on this one.
Leave it up to ABC for not checking the facts. A quick google could have led you to the links you provided. The Lame Stream Media.. carry the One’s water as they prepare for election time. remember folks the meme is going to be Bush Bad, over and over and over again. You’d think these morons in the White House could figure out the people could care less about Bush now. Obama Freaks!

They’re all in. IF you missed Beck this morning, he had the sentiments of a brand-new (radical, of course) member of the State Dept., who is advocating “rescuing journalism.” Michigan is considering a license to be a journalist.

It’s like a contest – Who can be the biggest cheerleader for this guy, oba mao? And that really wouldn’t bother me so much if he were really a great president. But he’s not. He’s horrible. He’s surrounded by corruption and ineptitude. All the problems and issues really should be exposed, and they’re not – they’re being hidden. At least by the Democrat Media Complex. Thank God for the new media.
JKB commented:
Well, Bush was viewed as being pro-American. Obama, not so much. Not to mention, within the military community, it was known the Bushes made private visits to the wounded and calls to the families of those killed.

It will take all of the kings horses and men to keep this dumbty imbescile together for the next eighteen months, but I don’t look for him to ever be placed back on the (pedestal) wall again. Too many pieces to this enigma, wrapped in lies, wrapped in media bull s**t.

After reading the below facts regarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, I am glad that this hallowed ground was not soiled by the current President…
This can be found by searching on Tomb of the Unknown Soldier facts… I had no idea, and I am a Vietnam Era Veteran that enlisted… amazing stuff!
TOMB OF THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER
Interesting facts about the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Sentinels of the Third United States Infantry Regiment “Old Guard”
1. How many steps does the guard take during his walk across the tomb of the Unknowns and why?
21 steps. It alludes to the twenty-one gun salute, which is the highest honor given any military or foreign dignitary.
2. How long does he hesitate after his about face to begin his return walk and why?
21 seconds, for the same reason as answer number 1.
3. Why are his gloves wet?
His gloves are moistened to prevent his losing his grip on the rifle.
4. Does he carry his rifle on the same shoulder all the time, and if not, why not?
No, he carries the rifle on the shoulder away from the tomb. After his march across the path, he executes an about face and moves the rifle to the outside shoulder.
5. How often are the guards changed?
Guards are changed every thirty minutes, twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year.
6. What are the physical traits of the guard limited to?
For a person to apply for guard duty at the tomb, he must be between 5′ 10″ and 6′ 2″ tall and his waist size cannot exceed 30″.
Other requirements of the Guard:
They must commit 2 years of life to guard the tomb, live in a barracks under the tomb, and cannot drink any alcohol on or off duty FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES. They cannot swear in public FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES and cannot disgrace the uniform {fighting} or the tomb in any way.
After TWO YEARS, the guard is given a wreath pin that is worn on their lapel signifying they served as guard of the tomb. There are only 400 presently worn. The guard must obey these rules for the rest of their lives or give up the wreath pin.
The shoes are specially made with very thick soles to keep the heat and cold from their feet. There are metal heel plates that extend to the top of the shoe in order to make the loud click as they come to a halt. There are no wrinkles, folds or lint on the uniform. Guards dress for duty in front of a full-length mirror.
The first SIX MONTHS of duty a guard cannot talk to anyone, nor watch TV. All off duty time is spent studying the 175 notable people laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery. A guard must memorize who they are and where they are interred. Among the notables are: President Taft, Joe E. Lewis {the boxer} and Medal of Honor winner Audie Murphy, {the most decorated soldier of WWII} of Hollywood fame. Every guard spends FIVE HOURS A DAY getting his uniforms ready for guard duty.

#19…..I believe george bush did miss one wreath laying at arlington(someone can correct me if im wrong)I believe i heard on of the news outlets that Bush was in france for actual presidential matters(Yes he was really working unlike a certain muslim president we know…FORE)…But on his visit to france he did visit one of the cemetarys where most of our american soldiers were laid to rest during the war….A ceramony was performed and a wreath was laid in thier memory…..
RickZ commented:
The media constantly comits lies of both commission and omission. The ‘Bush didn’t attend Arlington in 2002′ lie is an example of the lie of omission, that is, omitting mentioning Bush went to a US cemetary while on an official visit to France.

Interesting that they would try this, since when I first heard that Obama would not be at Arlington my comment was that there were only 2 acceptable other places for the Commander-in-Chief to be on Memorial Day. One of those places was Normandy, as Bush was. The other would be in theater in the war zone, visiting the troops. I realized later that there was one more reason that would be acceptable to me and that would be if necessary Presidential business made it impossible to attend, obviously.
