It’s Day 68 of the Gulf Oil Spill Disaster–
The oil continues to leak- The Obama Administration and federal government continue to fail.
** The feds have only accepted assistance from 5 of 28 countries.
** It took the Obama Administration 53 days to accept help from the Dutch and British.
** It took them 58 days to mobilize the US military to the Gulf.
** The feds shut down crude-sucking barges due to fire extinguisher concerns.
** The Obama Administration ignore oil boom manufacturers that have miles of product stockpiled in their warehouses.
** They only have moved 31 of 2,000 oil skimmers to the disaster area off of Florida.
** Florida hired an additional 5 skimmer boats to operate off its coast due to federal inaction.
** The feds shut down sand berm dredging off the Louisiana coast.
** The president continues to hit the golf course, ball games, hold BBQ’s and party while the crude oil washes up on shore.
Now, we find out that there are no oils skimmers off the coast of Mississippi either.
McClatchy reported:
A morning flight over the Mississippi Sound showed long, wide ribbons of orange-colored oil for as far as the eye could see and acres of both heavy and light sheen moving into the Sound between the barrier islands. What was missing was any sign of skimming operations from Horn Island to Pass Christian.
U.S. Rep. Gene Taylor got off the flight angry.
“It’s criminal what’s going on out there,” Taylor said minutes later. “This doesn’t have to happen.”
A scientist onboard, Mike Carron with the Northern Gulf Institute, said with this scenario, there will be oil on the beaches of the mainland.
“There’s oil in the Sound and there was no skimming,” Carron said. “No coordinated effort.”
Taylor said it was a good thing he didn’t have a mic in the helicopter, because he might have said some things he didn’t want his children to hear.
Remember: Obama told us the Oil Spill Disaster was like 9-11.

And the Republicans — think McConnell, Bonehead Boehner, Steele, Cornyn, Cantor, are doing what, exactly, to highlight this Administration incompetence and seek genuine relief for those in the Gulf? Is it just me, or do these alleged “leaders” show all the energy and initiative of aged geldings? Passivity is the watchword for these losers. They should be (nonstop) making statements from the floor, calling press conferences, visiting the Gulf, fill in the blank (the options are unlimited). Or, am I missing something — namely that they are out there doing all those things? I am more than willing to be corrected if it can be shown that I am off-base in my charges above.

With all the “sucking” being done in DC seems like the best way to combat this spill is move DC to the gulf.

The states need to pull “emminent domain” and start taking care of there own coastlines.
If they expect the “incompetent fools” in washington DC to do anything, they are living in a dream world.
Obama does not live in the gulf, his supporters don’t live in the gulf. He doesn’t care, he proves that everytime he goes to the golf course. To him giving the illegals amnesty is more important than cleaning up the oil spill. That’s just the way it is.

Obama’s goal is to destroy America; everything Obama does leads to her destruction.
While Americans wait for the November elections, Obama continues to make laws, which the democrats can use to their advantage. Even #6′s link shows that who Obama and his gang deem to be home-grown terrorists means none may have the right to vote. Obama believes Republicans, conservatives, veterans, military, Christians, etc. are the extremists against his government. A mad man is in Office – the more time given to him to rule with his absolute power, the less power will be left for those who oppose him until they have no power at all.

The scandles that are surfacing will hopefully bring him down, Sestak, Blago, and being unable or, worse, unwilling to lead the Gulf oil clean up. A republican would have been strung up long ago.
Freddy commented:
A few weeks ago there was a story that indicated the Federal Government was prohibiting planes from flying over this spill. This story was quckly and quietly stifled.
What is becoming clear, is that we are simply NOT getting all of the information regarding the scope of the problem and the quality of the clean-up efforts.
IS it possible for anyone on ANY side of this issue, to continue to trust the Federal Governments response to this oil leak?
While it is nice to hear of an anecdotal congressmans response to seeing the problem, where are all of the videos that support what he is claiming to have seen? We should NOT be getting second hand information and unverified claims, we should be getting many steady streams of video footage.
It would appear that the MSM and the Federal Government are working together to hide as much of this coverage as they can!
Joe commented:
Something is terribly wrong in Washington and its about time all of our politicians, both Democrat and Republican pay attention! This administration is deliberately destroying us on every front! And I also think that every single Republican should be raising his voice on a daily basis about this, about the Arizona mess and all areas in which Obama is taking over the country! If they don’t we may wind up like Venezuela.
jainphx commented:
Yes, but why are they hiding the images? there are two possibilities.
1) the spill is much worse than they claim.
2) the spill is much less than they claim.
This regime has reasons to hide the truth of both. Where did we go wrong electing these crooks and aliens to the highest offices in this country.
MikeSilver commented:
The No-Fly zone is standard and a requirement by the FAA if you are going to do burning operations. The zone in this case is pretty large because the oil is over such a large area and they burning whereever they can.
Someday the truth is going to come out about how the EPA changed the Response Plan, canceled standing permits, and made the situation worse. BP can’t say anything because they are under the government’s thumb.
Some of the decisions being made are clearly done by regulators with no experience in oil spill response and ZERO Drill time. BP has a tough job dealing with the idiots in the EPA.
I was on the Spill Reponse Team for a Large Oil Company between ’92 to ’96.

“Smart meters” have been installed in some areas in the US. They look like normal electric meters but do so much more…like this:
1) Huge overcharges
2) Turn off your power
How can that be? They were sold to be so economically/environmentally friendly — teaching us how to track our usage and where/when to cut back to save money and our environment.
Reportedly, Northern Californians (PG&E) have suffered the most problems.
Sojourner commented:
from Patterico’s Pontifications..
..’Collection of the BP oil spill was never a “skimming” operation. Both underwater plumes of oil and surface oil must be collected. “A Whale” will merely collect the surface oil.
BP and USCG will eventually use tankers to collect the oil that has been released into the Gulf of Mexico as a result of the Deepwater Horizon blowout of April 20, 2010. Unfortunately, this decision will be made after the devastation of many coastal communities.
…{that is, after the gummint finishes its review..(this decade?):
…”Since May 17, 2010, Renergie, Inc. has submitted unsolicited proposals for the purpose of using three Panamax class crude tankers for the collection and onboard separation of the BP oil spill to every federal agency, state agency, state elected official and federal elected official with even a remote interest in the BP oil spill. These tankers are capable of collecting and separating both surface oil and the underwater plumes of oil.
The USCG response to Renergie’s proposal stated, “Unfortunately, the Coast Guard does not currently have a mission and is not hiring contractors. However, if BP requests names, I will recommend and forward your company.”
The blowout of April 20, 2010 aboard the Deepwater Horizon was clearly preventable. The fact that the BP oil spill has been allowed to reach coastal areas is inexcusable.
For a clear understanding of the issues involved, visit:
http://renergie.wordpress.com/2010/05/25/bp-is-not-the-only-responsible-party/
and here:
“Under OPA 90, BP, the responsible party, has the primary responsibility to clean up its oil spill” has been repeated, in one form or another, so many times by President Obama that it has become the truth.
The truth is that President Obama, under OPA 90, has the primary responsibility to “ensure effective and immediate removal of a discharge, and mitigation or prevention of a substantial threat of a discharge, of oil.”

One good thing about all this is that Obama can no longer blame BP for this mess. He took over and now its worse than ever. He is the Dracula in this ghastly horror show.
My heart aches for the people in the Gulf Coast and the people of Arizona.
Sandy commented:
It feels good to say throw all the incumbents out — but we need to make sure we have a Republican Congress to undo the damage the Dems have done. If the Pubs don’t take care of business we can always throw them out in 2012.–I say that as a former Life Long Democrat.
MikeSilver commented:
I did a drill where we simulated the federalization of the response. 3 simulated days later (really 6 hours), the Coast Guard asked us back. What we all learned is federalization is HORRIBLE for response.
If Obama thinks he has trouble getting BP to do stuff, wait till he tries to contract for a private boat or needs people. Nobody has purchasing authority.
Each party (Coast Guard, State/Federal, Company) brings strengths to the table. If each side respects the other and doesn’t try to beat up on the other, the system WORKS.
Obama has set up an adversal relatioship which is hindering decision making and response.

No one’s asking him to do jack sh!t. He does and says whatever the hell he wants to without impunity. We, the people, gasp as we watch in horror or anger or disbelief the things this squatter in the White House does. Some of us write letters and make phone calls. Those with the power to actually bring to a screeching halt this stealth terrorist jihad administration – the other two branches of the Federal govt, the upper echelons of the three branches of the military, among others – do absolutely nothing as they watch Oilbama wipe his a$$ with the Constitution they’ve sworn to defend and destroy the country that they’re paid to care for. None of them are shouting, “Get your sorry Fed @$$es to the Gulf NOW and get this mess cleaned up!”
I don’t hear those who blamed GWB for a thousand deaths in New Orleans, as if he caused hurricane Katrina himself, saying jack sh!t about Oilbama’s having already killed thousands and thousands of fish and other sea creatures, sea plant life, birds, marshland plant life, etc etc etc, with still many more to die before it’s over. Not that wildlife is more valuable that human life, but Oilbama’s not tried to limit the death and destruction of this catastrophe.

The source of that piece of “news” is the European Union Times. That’s the rag that prints “news” by the non-existent Sorcha Faal, “news” reports about the million troops that Oilbama had recruited last year and were trained for the invasion planned for January 2010. It never happened, of course, just as Oilbama would be hard pressed to find 1,000,000 able bodies to recruit for his personal army. European Union Times reports this kind of scare-fiction all the time. I suggest that you ignore any story that’s first reported by them.

It looks like the gateway pundit is in dire need for some American socialism. You have to ask, why doesn’t BP contract more skimmers? Why doesn’t BP go around the corner from its Houston office to Shell’s US HQs or puddle jump to Dallas to Exxon’s home office to cut a deal with the two largest oil companies in the world for assistance in stopping this leak and cleaning up this catastrophe? These two companies both have experience in these types of disasters. Why? Because Uncle Sam will do it for cheap since the American people are subsidizing the clean up. Even if we are “repaid”, it will never be enough and will not be on any decent payment terms…ergo, no interest. We all know that if BP went to Exxon and Shell, they would smell the blood of the wounded and take advantage as would any God fearing capitalist would. And BP knows that we only cry foul when we take a breath away from the government teet.
