Frustration is mounting as oil reached shore in Louisiana and Florida.

More than 50 miles of Louisiana shore line have already been soiled from the spill.

Meanwhile… President Obama went golfing.

  1. Huh. Imagine that. Never saw that one comin’.

  2. I have no doubt that Historians will some day be equating Obama’s putter to Nero’s fiddle.

If no one else has done it already I dub him President Nerobama.

  3. Excuse me for being skeptical but I did not really see too much oil in that “report”.

Maybe the reporter would like to explain how some oil got on to pelican eggs since the nests never get wet.
    Not unless it rains.
Do you understand what I’m saying….?
No where anywhere in the world do birds build nests where they can be washed over by sea water.
Even sea turtles and alligators build their nests on dry land.
The oily egg thing was a lie plain and simple.

As far as the patch of oil they show in some reeds I would like to know where the hell all the containment booms are. They have only been waiting five weeks and yet they cannot seem to protect one little area.
    Total propaganda.

  4. He didn’t want off-shore drilling and we did. Now we won’t. He wins. It’s celebratory golf.

  5. Hey, lighten up. Let the man have a little recreation.

Transforming the freest nation in human history into a Communist slave state is hard work.

  6. So who ordered the fire booms that never showed up? obese useless government at it’s best …

My guess is the lame stream DNC media will sit this one out.

Obviously you are not a member of the Audubon Society are you Copernicus?

–”No where anywhere in the world do birds build nests where they can be washed over by sea water.”–

A classic case of the liberal troll employing the Wet Spaghetti Principle?

Much like the swan, White Pelican nests are quite often built close to the water level, & therefore often wiped out by rising water & high wind.

–”Pelicans are gregarious and nest colonially. The ground-nesting (white) species have a complex communal courtship involving a group of males chasing a single female in the air, on land, or in the water while pointing, gaping, and thrusting their bills at each other. They can finish the process in a day. The tree-nesting species have a simpler process in which perched males advertise for females.[1]

In all species copulation begins shortly after pairing and continues for 3 to 10 days before egg-laying. The male brings the nesting material, ground-nesters (which may not build a nest) sometimes in the pouch and tree-nesters crosswise in the bill. The female then heaps the material up to form a simple structure.[1]”

    Understand now Lab Partner?

  8. You know how people who protest against the wearing of fur hurl buckets of “blood” on those wearing fur?

It’s about time a certain golfer got doused with a bucket of oil.

  9. 5-4-3-2-1 – He blames Bush.

  10. It does seem as if not very much has been done. As far as mitigation/containment we have
    1. spreading of chemicals at the source
    2. laying of booms
    3. onshore cleanup

No towing of the fire booms, no active collection/removal effort on the water, limited laying of regular containment booms, no explanation of whether these concepts are even feasible.

Mention was made early on about the fire booms, but I have heard no follow-up on this. Does the news media have any memory at all?

  11. Really it is Dick Cheney’s fault.

  12. And I’m sure he’s still golfing over par.

Now imagine Bush doing that… oh dear…

  13. Oh Robert, the media remember very well: “Republicans bad, Democrats good.”
That’s all they really have to know in order to “report” the “news.” Anything else is just Faux News.

  14. Uh hoh geez….

Obviously you are not a member of the Audubon Society are you Copernicus?

I missed the part where you show how the oil got on the eggs and I know you didn’t call me a liberal troll.
Your online sarc has failed you.
Try to keep up or your mom will shut off your computer.

  15. I also saw no mention of eggs covered in oil,. But is it not logical that the birds could have been covered in oil then went to the next and it gotten on the egg……..duh

  16. Every day this gusher continues to gurgle is a Win for Prince Obie.

  17. Unnecessary food fight….neither “Bob Grant” nor
“NeoKong” is a troll. Let the LIBS conduct the circular firing squads and the rest of us sane folks keep firing for effect downrange….Peace?

  18. nest not next, typing slower than mind thinks…

  19. How many times can this man go golfing?

  20. Why would he not go golfing? The long the crisis lasts the better. Who knows when another crisis will come along?

JP officials commandeer BP’s hired boats in Grand Isle

GRAND ISLE, La. – Jefferson Parish Emergency managers say they have commandeered all of BP’s hired boats in Grand Isle.

A representative for Jefferson Parish Emergency chief Deano Bonano said they requested immediate action after oil moved into the marsh passes and onto the beaches in Grand Isle.

He said more than 40 boats were sitting idle while he watched the oil rush into the passes.

At around 5:30 p.m., Jefferson Councilman Chris Roberts confirmed the boats have been commandeered by JP emergency managers.

Coast guard is “slow and dumb” as boom sits on dock while oil comes ashore

Officials say more than 50 miles of the Louisiana coast have been oiled despite repeated pledges to fight the crude offshore. It’s leading to tension between feds and BP, and for the first time we’ve seen a public rift in the “unified response.”

Coast Guard Rear Admiral Mary Landry said of BP’s response to oil hitting the coast further west, “I was disappointed from the issue in Terrebonne Parish where we saw that boom had been prestaged and skimmers were there, but the folks were hesitating in deploying that.”

Capt. Ed Stanton said that ultimately is was his fault.

“It’s my job to direct this response in Louisiana, absolutely,” Stanton told reporters. “I’m gonna go right back the tell BP to hire more boats, hire more people, get more boom and put it out.”

When pressured for a reason why the response was ineffective he said, “I guess I’m just slow and dumb.”

    Listen to Stanton:

The captain added that BP has to stop this growing disaster.

“BP has got to cap the well, or else we are going to be at this for a long time. And, we have hurricane season coming up to boot.”

  22. Don’t you realize how tiring — how STRESSFUL — it must be for Obama to not-read laws before he criticizes them? And to come up with new and different problems to blame “the prior administration” for? And then, there’s all the parties, not to mention official State Dinners… Simply exhausting. Just ask him– I’m sure he’ll say he’s earned a little R&R.

Besides, when he’s golfing, he’s not on TV yammering about his next great initiative to spread our wealth around…

  23. What’s the difference between Obama and Tiger Woods?
One is a half-black golfer with no ethics or morals and the other one is….Oh wait, that describes both of them. Never mind!

  24. I’m shocked anyone would expect more from him. He’s not a leader. He’s a puppet with NO IDEAS. NONE…NADA…He is a bumbling idiot with purchased college degrees bought on his behalf by his corrupt puppetmasters. His own kids know how stupid he is. Wait till they sue his arse. They lawyers are teaming up and going to sue for non response. TIC TOC. How many lawsuits does that make against him so far? I lost count.

  25. @ Neo Kong
I thought I was quite clear but let’s try again shall we?
Something about my Capt’s License & the many years I’ve spent on the ocean tells me I’m right & you’re wrong.

This is complicated stuff so I’ll type slow
See if you can follow along

During thing called high tide water level rises.
Sometimes high wind & Moon cause water to rise higher than pea brained shoreline nesting birds like the Pelican think it can.

When that happens sometimes eggs get doused with sea water.

    Crystal?

  26. This video makes me even more certain…Obama is trying to establish that the private market is failing, they are trying to show that BP isn’t reacting fast enough, BP isnt doing this, BP isnt doing that, while Obama holds back available resources that Jindal and other governors are demanding…so that Obama can take better advantage of the crisis.

The worse the shores get, the more you will hear the administration and their Ministry of Truth press pushing the explanation that things only got so bad because BP was running things and not the federal government….

He’s being negligent on purpose to use the crisis to seize as much control over the oil industry as he thinks he can get away with
