Obama to Take Second Vacation This Month Since Gulf Oil Rig Exploded

Yesterday, Obama Interior Secretary Ken Salazar told reporters,
“The fact of the matter is that this is a BP mess. It is a horrible mess. We will not rest until their job is done.”
Obviously, he wasn’t talking about his boss.
The Obama family will take their second vacation this month since the Gulf oil rig exploded that started the non-stop gusher.
The first family will return to Chicago this weekend for a little R-&-R.
Chicago Breaking News reported:
The news that President Barack Obama and his family will return to Chicago for the Memorial Day weekend has triggered a guessing game.
Where will they dine? What will they do for fun? With the Sox on the road and the Blackhawks skating into the Stanley Cup finals, might the first family ditch its predictable pastimes — basketball, golf and tennis — and go to the United Center for hockey?
According to a White House official, the Obamas will arrive Thursday and stay until Monday, when Obama will participate in a Memorial Day ceremony at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. The veterans’ cemetery is about 50 miles south of Chicago.
Remember… Everyone must sacrifice. Everyone must have some skin in the game.

I also hope the members and families of the US military appreciate his respect and appreciation for the services and sacrifices that he’s showing them in his absence.
I also hope that the millions of tax dollars it will cost for this round of golf are well appreciated by those who do pay taxes.
And I sure am glad that he’ll be occasionally thinking about who to blame next for the mess that he’s turned this country into.
And finally, I hope there won’t be any oil slicks washing up in the sand bunkers and water hazards at the country club.

I voted for Obama – well I didn’t really vote for him. I could see right away that he would be a nightmare for the country. Remember the Greek columns? Sheesh, what kind of a pecker wouldn’t see through that?

Obama just concluded a meeting with Republican senators about boarder security in SW states. The senators insisted that a secure boarder is a pre-condition to any immigration reform proposal. Obama said that he did not agree with that priority and would do nothing further at this time.
The refusal of an elected official to enforce laws of the US is grounds for impeachment. Everyone who loves their country must get off their butts and work like hell to obtain Republican majorities in both houses of congress. Then Obama can be impeached.
In the interim the best we can hope for is total gridlock in congress.

There are 208 weekends in one presidential term. Four of those weekends (preceeding the last Monday in May) are specifically dedicated to the memory of those who fought and died for our freedoms. As the Commander in Chief, he should be present at Arlington Cemetary this weekend to honor the fallen. He can visit and pay his respects to the Chicago veterans on any one of the remaining 204 weekends. But since Obama doesn’t get it, you would think that SOMEONE in his administration would advise him of the importance of those 4 weekends. Or be man/woman enough to speak out against his actions. Written history of this presidency will require many astericks.
I would suggest that everyone visit Washington DC on this weekend at least once in their lives – the love of country you feel there is amazing.

I have mixed feelings about this: on the one hand, it’s a part of his JOB to go to Arlington National Cemetery and lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns – he doesn’t have to like it, he just has to DO it. On the other hand, however…as a veteran, the wife of a retired Marine and the mother and mother-in-law of military members, I’d rather he not be within 100 miles of Arlington National Cemetery. Heroes should be treated with respect; Obama displays only disdain for the military.
As for asterisks, the written history of this presidency will require something more like question marks. Lots of them.

Moreover, not every president has spent Memorial Day at Arlington. In 1983, President Reagan was at a summit meeting, and the deputy secretary of defense — not even the veep! — placed the wreath. Nine years later, President George H.W. Bush passed off the wreath to Vice President Dan Quayle (who had used family connections to get a slot in the National Guard during the days of the Vietnam War draft). And in 2007, Vice President Dick Cheney took on the wreath mission, while President George W. Bush was in Texas, perhaps clearing brush.
