Sick. Obama Tells West Point Grads: America Must Stop "Stepping Outside the Currents of International Cooperation"

Spoken like a true far left America-hater.
Barack Obama told West Point grads today that we are seeking some kind of “international order.” He also told the grads that America must stop “stepping outside the currents of international cooperation.”
Man, he hates this country.

He certainly wouldn’t want these kids to feel proud of their country. That’s for sure.
The Washington Post reported, via Free Republic:
“The international order we seek is one that can resolve the challenges of our times,’” he said in prepared remarks. “Countering violent extremism and insurgency; stopping the spread of nuclear weapons and securing nuclear materials; combating a changing climate and sustaining global growth; helping countries feed themselves and care for their sick; preventing conflict and healing its wounds.”
“Yes, we are clear-eyed about the shortfalls of our international system. But America has not succeeded by stepping outside the currents of international cooperation,” he said. “We have succeeded by steering those currents in the direction of liberty and justice — so nations thrive by meeting their responsibilities, and face consequences when they don’t.”
What a complete loon. A dangerous loon… But still a loon.
When was the last time America “stepped outside of the currents of international cooperation”???
Is he talking about Iraq? Where America fought with a coalition of 49 countries? Where we still have forces serving? When exactly did America “step outside the currents of international cooperation” and fail?
Man, this guy sure hates America.
And, this was his graduation speech at West Point?

Actually, the Canadian ambassador to Iran helped, by secretly giving Canadian passports to American embassy workers stuck in Iran, helping them to flee. But, aside from that, I’d agree that the “International Community” was useless, and Carter was foolish if he hoped for relief in the form of the “International Community”.
Let’s face it, Obama’s devotion to the farcical “International Community” is just another way he avoids tough decisions and actions, because he knows his deference to the “International Community” produces the appearance of action, when in fact it is just reckless inaction on his part, as he knows the thugs and miscreants that comprise the “International Community” will never do anything to reign in the bad actors (russia, iran, china, n korea, etc). Obama would at least win points for honesty if he’d admit that he won’t do anything to address the gathering threats against us, but even that modest accomplishment evades him. All it means is he’s punting the problem to the next president (in 2012?), who will now have to contend with emboldened now-nuke armed rogue states, and the Obamanomics inspired economic collapse. Sorta like what Bush did.
Its the same with his (and his lackeys’) refusal to identify jihad-based terrorism as Islam-based. Doing so is impossible, since that would also call into question his weak policies in attempting to deal with it (i.e., the hopelessly inadequate criminal justice /kumbaya model that led up to 9/11). I caught the last of the speech and it reminded me of the stories about two people on a blind date, both realizing they hated each other at first sight. A kind of Mr. T meeting Richard Simmons moment.

The progressives have got to have the strangest concept of “consensus.” From its application in global warming indicating a minority of credible climate scientists, to this perplexing application which would logically include a “unified international voice” that includes Russia, China, Iran, etc., I’m beginning to question their mental health.
Perhaps the great leader can provide us with an example on how this international consensus would function on something like a rogue state. Do they require unanimous support to effect a decision? 3/5ths? Are there veto nations as Obama suggests — Russia, China, Venezuela, Iran, Libya apparently always constitute a part of the consented and thus could never be disagreed with in a majoritarian context.
I’d swear, this is harder than new math. Many of us apparently didn’t do enough drugs in college to be able to approximate this type of thought.

Actually, I was referring to the mushy-middle – the non-committed, independents. You can’t win in this country without ‘em, and over the top rhetoric that avoids solutions to the real problems we face just turns ‘em off.
The dems know this – they won so many seats formerly held by republicans for the last 2 cycles b/c they nominated moderate sounding candidates who specifically avoided the over the top Bush hatred that riles the dem base to this day. We just let them get away with it. That needs to stop. Make sure you man your voting stations and make sure no one interferes with the right to vote. Peter Baker of the NY Times suggests Obama “repudiated his predecessor’s emphasis on unilateral American power and the right to wage pre-emptive war.” You have to be kidding.
We all know this is one of the biggest political manipulations we have recently witnessed, enabled by the poor offering of the McCain Campaign so long ago. There were over 40 Countries who contributed in the effort to liberate the Iraqi People. The USA never acted alone, and went to the UN on numerous occasions after 9-11, before it engaged in needed action – like the efforts to liberate Afghanistan and Iraq.
Obama continued to take swipes at the prior Administration, real cheap political sophistry. Especially knowing the Obama Administration has adopted a vast number of the sound Bush Administration policies in fighting the GWOT. Obama actually tried to brag about how they are now taking out more Al Qaeda leaders today – as we did years ago. This is the most absurd hubris, as it was the Bush Administrations policies which established the precedents – procedures to fight the Terrorists. In reality, we have witnessed a rise in domestic Terror Attacks since Obama took Office. His bragging is truly misguided.
Mr. Obama actually said we cannot “compromise” our values in fighting this WAR. Yet the Bush Administration never compromised, as the cheap political implication suggests. Meanwhile, the Obama Administration is out giving ‘Assassination Orders’ for American Al Qaeda Operatives.
Mr. Obama seems eager to make Diplomacy the essential principle to our success. It is implied the former Republican Administration never engaged in ‘diplomacy’ or the USA never did before Mr. Obama’s empowerment. This is more sophistry. Besides, Mr. Obama has compromised so many of Our commitments and values with Our essential Free Allies. The Obama Doctrine has made a mess with Poland, the Czech Republic, Israel, Great Britain, etc.
Barack Obama offered such a poorly considered speech in front of Our Finest today. A tiresome political manipulation, we all should forget. This is becoming even more embarrassing than the Carter Malaise, or even when the Clintons decided to make it policy to lie about the Genocide in Rwanda.
Rank hypocrisy, blind partisan calculation, endless deceit, provincial naivety, etc., is a disaster for Leadership – and this Partisan Democrat White House, is quickly becoming a dangerous problem for all. Today’s speech will only further erode the credibility and confidence Americans have with the Obama Presidency.
We all deserve better, and we are not being fooled.

It was pretty quiet among the cadets and their families….too quiet. The cadets of course cannot boo or show open dissent to their commander-in-chief but they do not have to cheer and Obama, when he paused to allow for cheering got mostly polite aplause.
Bush delivered the commencement speech at West Point in 2002. Anyone have the video? I want to compare responses.
