63% of American voters want Congress to repeal the last piece of radical legislation rammed down their throats.
It doesn’t matter.

Barack Obama told Senate Republicans today to work with democrats to pass more radical leftist legislation.
The Politico reported:

President Barack Obama battled with Senate Republicans in a tense closed-door meeting Tuesday, facing tough criticism from his GOP adversaries — including John McCain — on issues ranging from health care to border security.

Senators and other sources inside the meeting described the gathering as “testy” and “direct” — and Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) accused Obama of acting two-faced by asking for GOP support on regulatory reform only to push forward with a bill supported mainly by Democrats. Others felt that the meeting may have made already tense relations between the two parties even worse.

“The more he talked, the more he got upset,” Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) said. “He needs to take a valium before he comes in and talks to Republicans and just calm down, and don’t take anything so seriously. If you disagree with someone, it doesn’t mean you’re attacking their motives — and he takes it that way and tends then to lecture and then gets upset.”

The White House said that Obama made a plea for bipartisanship on some of the country’s most pressing issues — and he urged Republicans to stand up to their base and compromise with the Democratic Party.

Bill Burton, a White House spokesman who attended the meeting, later told reporters that the meeting was “civil in tone” and not as contentious as Republicans have made it out to be. But he said Obama directly challenged the GOP to work in a bipartisan fashion on immigration and energy – or risk seeing those two major issues fall apart this year.

Inside the lunch meeting, Obama squared off with his old rival McCain (R-Ariz.) over border security, sources said. Sources described Obama’s conversation with McCain as rather direct.

McCain said he told Obama: “We need to secure the borders first. He didn’t agree.” A McCain spokeswoman said their exchange was “frank but respectful.”

Shortly after the meeting, Obama called for 1,200 National Guard troops to be deployed to the border, and McCain quickly one-upped the president, asking for 6,000.

One Republican senator told reporters after Obama left, “He’s pretty thin-skinned.”
No kidding.

  1. Republicans who stand up to their base and compromise with Liberal Democrats will be out of a job!

  2. This doesn’t surprise me at all. Bipartisanship to Obamanation means bowing down and doing it the way the Dems want it. He doesn’t care about the people, he just wants to turn this country away from the Constitution and toward a socialistic/communistic regime. He really needs to be brought up on treason charges along with any congressional rep/senator that has voted down the line with him.

  3. he urged Republicans to stand up to their base and compromise with the Democratic Party.

    do as you’re told

  4. Thin like an onion skin…like a narcissist’ skin.

    He’s dangerous.

  5. It has been reported that Obama claims he is being pressured by his party to pass their agenda and Obama then says the Republicans should abandon their party and vote for his radical agenda. Republican loyalty to party is a bad thing, but Obama’s loyalty to his party is a good thing.

In fact, it is also being reported that Republicans are ‘seditious’ because they won’t vote for Obama’s radical agenda.

  6. The only radical legislation the Republicans should pursue is the one that authorizes Impeachment of Hussein al-Zero.

High Crimes – treason, graft and various charges of corruption.

Misdemeanors – impersonating an American citizen, practicing socialism while in office, failure to secure American borders, insulting our allies in favor of radical Muslim dictators, etc., etc.

  7. Obama is so close to a total, freaking, nervous breakdown. The guy is way, way, way over his head, he knows it, and the pressure is starting flip him out. (Hence all the vacations and golfing.) He avoids a free-for-all press conference because his handlers are afraid Obama is going go DefCon 1 postal and shock everyone.

  8. Hussein blew up the oil rig and had done nothing but watch the greatest disaster in US history emerge. He orchastrated it. Now he is demanding everyone help him make fun of Republicans while asking for their help. I say do not give him any help.

He said all republicans are evil too often. So do not talk to him. Hussein is a leftist hater. he hates people and wants to see the republicans dead. Don’t fall for his trap.

    this is new??

didn’t he hold a public meeting with the Reps on ObamaCare that more or less ended with the bottom line being: we’re doing it my way no matter what you say.. then all the voting OUT of Republican amendments ensued in whatever the process was called (believe it was dubbed “reconciliation” but not sure), and then the bill was passed??

  11. 0bama: “Stand up to your base”..

In other words, he means, go against the will of the people you represent and do what I want.

He seems to think our representative republic is a government of 0bama for 0bama and by 0bama..

  12. bho told republicans to be RINOS because he knows that -that is the route they usually take…

let’s see if any have strengthened their proverbial spines!!!
    C-CS

  13. Obamma is anti American. McCrazy is running for office again. Thwart them both at the same time. Secure the boarder and do not re-elect the RINO from Arizona. problem solved. As for the zeros fits, yes he is getting close to his cheese sliding of his cracker. Friend o mine speculated after the November election he is removed OR (wait for it)
the Narcissist of the United States NOTUS will just off himself in the oval orafice. Sounds like a win win to me. poser trash.

  14. You all are right on point tonight.

I’m thinking Obama is aka Neville Chamberlain.

  15. I rather the republicans keep the democrats incheck at least till the next presidential elections. It’s best for nothing else to pass, we’re bankrupt.

Keep obama in his room with some crayons, hopefully he won’t break anything else.

It’s beginning to look like Rome, where the emperor did his on thing without bothering to listen to the senate.

    duh!! i’m slowing down..

it just struck me that OBAMA once again managed to distract
from the facts and make the issue ALL ABOUT OBAMA.. gah!!

not to mention OBAMA PREEMPTIVELY POINTING THE FINGER
OF BLAME AT REPUBLICANS IF HIS RADICAL POLICIES FAIL!!

  17. His statements to reps leads me to wonder if 0bama is mentally unstable and unfit for command?

There’s some serious stuff going on these days, the situation in Korea and the oil spill being two examples. And while that is going on he throws an extravagant party, goes golfing, and now he is going on vacation again.

He is seriously disconnected from reality.

  18. This is what the country gets for electing this inexperienced, petulant punk. As Lone Ranger accurately wrote in post #8, “The guy is way, way, way over his head, he knows it, and the pressure is starting flip him out.” That’s exactly it.

Let this be a lesson to the 52+% that voted for this guy that you don’t put someone in the office with no experience, qualifications, or achievements relevant to the job — especially when we know he was largely raised in the Third World, not in the U.S., and spent years listening to sermons by that unAmerican tool Rev. Wright. He then compounds his pathetic background by overcompensating and being arrogant and showing a lack of humility, which causes him to actually lecture others who are more qualified than he is for the office.

We have nearly 310 million people in this country, a large percentage of whom meet the legal qualifications to serve in the office, and Obama is the best we could find?!? It’s embarrassing for the country, the office of the POTUS, and all those who served in the office previously to have this guy as POTUS. Most of us probably thought we never thought we’d see someone worse than Jimmy Carter serve in the position, but here we are. Like with Carter, the damage this guy is doing to the country is going to be felt for decades.

  19. Brilliant! Obama said “govern against the wishes of the people”.

At least he admits that’s what he’s doing…I wonder if he offered McCain DoD?
