Uh, no.
Roughly 645,000 thousands slaves came to the US between 16th and 19th century most coming in the 18th century. The importing of slaves was outlawed in most states by 1786 and the last state to banned it was Georgia in 1798. This means that the North-Atlantic slave trade to the U.S. was stopped before the 1800′s. There were so many slaves in America mainly because of the large amount of children.
Remember, there were no slaves brought over in the 1800′s! trick question.
