It’s no big deal. We all do it…

Figures. Dem Governor Ed Rendell admits on FOX News Sunday that the Sestak Scandal was just politics as usual and that he did the same thing during his 2006 campaign..

DOUG ROSS does what state-run media won’t, and connects the dots on the Sestak Scandal here.

  1. There is a difference between offering a job post to a person dropping out of a race and making the offer as an incentive to drop out.

    Sorry Governor timing does matter.

  2. What else would you expect from Ed Swin-DELL.

  3. Ok, if everyone doing something makes it alright…

Where’s my gun, I have a bank to rob.

  4. Compared to this felonious sale of the federal government, Nixon’s cover-up of the Watergate break-in was eye wash.

Of course, Nixon had the Viet Congress, the comintern, and the pinko VC sympathizers in the media out to get him so they could hand over Southeast Asia to the glorious NVA and Pol Pot.

    Where’s my gun, indeed.

  5. Following the rules must be for the little people; clearly the Dems are above the rules.

  6. Here is my guess (and I could be wrong):

every pol has an “exploratory” committee that tests the waters to see if there is any chance they can win a particular seat, Congressional or Senatorial. By February, Sestak would have had a exploratory committee put together, and it would have been common “insider” knowledge that he intended to jump in the Senate race. But by Feb., the Oval Office already know that Specter was going to jump ship and go back to being a Dem. And although Specter would have been viewed as a turncoat by some PA GOPers, he was still the incumbent and his chances were going to be better than 50%, no matter what party he chose.

But here is Sestak, muddying the waters on Specter’s flip. Career Navy, Admiral and great reputation as an honest man. Oooops.

So what to do? Well, offer Sestak a high value job in late Feb. before he really announces his candidacy. One that his Navel career would fit right into.

Sestak says “no” and runs. Now he is fighting for his life and has to show the people of his state what an upright, honest guy he is so they will vote against Specter. Open mouth, insert foot. Ooops, well let’s just ignore it and maybe that little interview won’t get much attention. But it did.

Now the WH is looking like a bunch of Chicago thugs (not that they’re not) trying to do the same thing that got Blago arrested. So Robert (the Mouthpiece) Gibbs stonewalls all questions reporters are asking. But it ain’t going away. This is high crimes, boys and girls, and the media starts to sense there is blood in the water.

Major Garrett comes right out and asks the question no one in the WH wants to answer. What to do, what to do? Well, have lunch with Bubba, concock a story line that seems harmless enough, (after all, isn’t Clinton the most beloved president we have had until the coronation of the Boy King?), contack Sestak’s brother who’se his campaign manager to coordinate stories, and put it out the next day.

Only the story doesn’t pass the smell test (it was a job, now it was an advisory “Postition” that Sestak could not have taken as a sitting Congressman under rules implemented by Bubba himself). The blood is the water is getting to be the size of the oil slick in the Gulf.

Only there is a problem; Sestak who was so secure and firm in original interviews, is now talking to the press, acting like he is trying to remember the Cliff Notes of War and Peace. He’s shakey, not very direct and evasive. No more Mr. Secure In What I Say Is Truthful.

Call your Congress critters and demand that Sestak be investigated by the Ethics Committee (5 Dems and 5 Republicans) and that the minority party hold a hearing, with sworn testimony, and a request for all records, which it can do.

Remember, Watergate was just a simple break-in until the Oval Office tried to cover it up.

  7. Watch Fast Eddy put the tax screws to Pennsylvania on his way out of office. Good riddance; enjoy your new gig at ESPN. You should have gone there right from Philadelphia.

  8. Obama promised that if Spector became a Dem he would have no primary opposition in the 2010 election. How could he promise that if he wasn’t ready to do anything to stop a challenger?

The whole thing stinks to high heaven. They have to have such a low opinion of the American people to think we will fall for this.

Sestak is a dumb man walking. When this happened he should have named names. Now he is forced to go along with this farce in the fond hope that The White House will still fund his candidacy. But Obama is a get even guy so lots of luck Big Ses with your glass is half full rational.

  9. When Rendell speaks — slime seems to ooze from every pore.

Justifying criminality — why that’s something we can teach our children.

  10. Harold Ford wanted to run for Gillibrand’s Senate Seat. However, he said the pressure was so great for him to stay out of the race he backed off.

The WH likes Gillibrand because she is a Schumer clone. But does that give them the right to force everyone else out of the race?

  11. A crime needs to be investigated. We need to make the ethics folks justify why they are not looking into it.

  12. The White House also wants us to believe that this is hooey because Obama appointed Ray Mabus as Sec of Navy, but have you looked at the history of Secretaries of the Navy? Only 6 have ever served 3 or more years. All the others are 1 or 2 years, some as little as a couple of weeks. Three, including Mabus, have alread served under Obama. I don’t think it is far fetched to think that Obama could have promised Sestak the Sec Navy job in a year or two.

  13. Forget it . It is not going anywhere, hearing or no hearing.
this is theatre designed by t he clintoons probably to drive the worsening news of ObamaNoCare off the frt pages and off the sunday news shows.
There was the Toricelli switch, and the dead candidate in MO and the switch for his wife, then there was the call to Ny gov to get out. Then the
    Kennedy Senate seat quest.
All kabuki. don’t fall for it, All the sestak thing is, is the the Obamanites and Clintoons managing the news day. “Look over hear, Lookie over there…While we steal the country thru EPA rules etc…

  14. They are now floating trial balloon #2. Since the “nothing to see here” excuse isnt working, they are now trying to see if “everyone does it” works. That could morph into, if you prosecute Obama then you have to prosecute A, B, and C which would cause all kinds of upheaval so you better not go there.

I guarantee we will end up seeing a couple more trial balloons before its all over. They are going to throw everything they got against the wall and hope something sticks. I believe even if his arrogance blinds Obama to the seriousness of the situation, someone in his inner circle knows how bad this could go for the administration.

  15. I predict this will go nowhere, because we are no longer a nation of laws only a nation of lawyers.
Add to that a compliant press. (Pravda)
Every day it seems more and more like I went to sleep one night in the USA and woke up the next morning in the old Soviet Union.

  16. If the trial balloon of — everybody does it — doesn’t work some minor player will be fired. That will buy them some time in the hopes that the media will move on to something else. Should the firestorm continue Rahm Emanuel will be blamed and Obama will say mistakes were made. After that — we are in Special Prosecutor territory.

What is unknown here is what is what other shoe is going to drop. We have the 40 day Oil Spill and Top Kill is not working. The economy worsens, foreclosers will hit a new high as the so-called tax credit comes to an end. What we are left with is an angry public who might latch on to any scandal to prove the arrogance and incompetence of this administration. In that case Obama will be put on the defensive for the rest of his term.

  17. First, I agree that this will go nowhere. Watergate took Nixon down because the press wanted Nixon down. We will never know how big this was because the media does not care.

Secondly, the repeated refrain “Everyone does it” comes effortlessly from administration sources, friendly politicians and a subservient media. What none of them realizes is that it is this very refrain that caused the Tea Parties to spring up. OK, if “everyone” does it, then we have to get a new “everyone.”

  18. “we have to get a new ‘everyone’.”

A big thumbs-up to that, Andrew!

  19. Just to add into the mix to make things interesting the Blago trial begins June 3 since SCOTUS denied any delay in the trial.

  20. Never flip the lever or punch a chad for ANYONE with a (D) ever, or ever again. They are a Party that are in platform opposition to a Republican form of government as stated in the Constitution. Every time Obama or a CLinton intones, “improving DEMOCRACY,” that’s unConstitutional. The specific statement of a “guarantee of a republican form of government” was set down expressly to moderate the unchecked excesses of direct democratic voting. The Democrats are the Party of wanting to do away with the Electoral College, a truly brilliant mechanism. They don’t like it, not one little bit, yet its moderating effects have served the nation well for centuries.

The entire Democratic Party is in total ideological opposition to the original intent of the Founding Fathers as they established American governance through the Constitution.
Amongst many failures, it gave us a Civil War, protected slavery, concocted discriminatory laws, public education that has intellectually crippled the next generation, now a destruction of the world’s finest health care system.

    Feh!

  21. ‘excuse me? This is not a good excuse.
It’s illegal to offer a kickback (ANYTHING OF VALUE) or a bribe. ILLEGAL FEDERAL OFFENSE.
He just implicated himself in a crime. He admitted he committed this crime too.
    Arrest him.

  22. So Governor, you’re admitting to a felony also. Maybe the State Attorney in PA has a case against the Governor then. Is it like saying, the bank robber robbed the bank today, and I did the same thing in 2006?

A crime is a crime Governor. You saying this, shows that you are corrupt, and should be charged with a crime.

  23. This making up the rules as they go along apparently has been in effect for some time.

Gov. Rendell thinks that admitting crimes gives cover. These guys are beyond belief.

We are ushering in the era of “transparent” corruption. This is not the change we can or should count on.

  24. .. sorry, but you kinda’ lose your credibility when your handle’s ‘Fast Eddy’ .. [he ought to be polishing door knobs in prison instead of stinking up Memorial Weekend’s Sunday morning with his ‘just politics as usual’ twaddle..} Crossing both parties, people are fed up with being lied to by Team O, Pelosi, Reid & their big government DC freak show. Voters are demanding accountability from their elected representatives.. get a clue, Ed.. a crime’s still a crime outside your little, smarmy world.

  25. That’s right, it is no big deal; after all Governor Ed Rendell is a Democrat.

  26. Hey, fast eddy. Your just confirming how corrupt you and your party are. We’re coming for you, and the bombs are laser guided to get DEMOCRATS. Your the bastards that are against the U.S. constituition. powder is dry.

  27. Having “Fast Eddy” living in the Governor’s Mansion is no different than having Tony Soprano occupy the same address.

  28. You Can Take the Pol Out of Chicago. . .

Obama has been compared to Jimmy Carter (in his misguided notions about the world), to Richard Nixon (in his sleazy backroom dealing and lack of transparency) and to LBJ (in his infatuation with government). Unfortunately, it appears that he embodies the worst of three unsuccessful presidents. And like all three, he may manage to drag his party down with him.

  29. “Fast Eddie” Rendell sounds more like “Slick Willy” Clinton every day.

It ain’t easy living in a blue state.
Maybe that will begin to change in November.

  30. Rendell, that’s why corrupt people like you should be out of politics.
