Nearly two-thirds of Americans want Obamacare repealed. Democrats rammed their nationalized health care bill down America’s throat in March.
Republicans on Thursday introduced a bill to repeal it.
The Hill reported:

House Republican leaders introduced a bill Thursday to repeal and replace the sweeping healthcare law adopted in late March.

According to Rep. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), the measure would repeal the current law and replace it with the alternative the minority party offered to the original healthcare legislation last November.

“As unpopular as this healthcare bill is today, it’s at the height of its popularity,”
Blunt said. “The more the American people know about it, the more concerns they are going to have, and the more they are going to look at alternatives.”

Chances are slim Republicans could get their measure to the floor, given the Democratic majorities in the chamber, but it could make a useful campaign tool for the party.

The vote on healthcare reform has become a political issue in a year rife with anti-incumbent sentiment.

Tea Party activists opposed the legislation and protested on Capitol Hill during the March vote, shouting, “Kill the bill.”

Several Democratic candidates in conservative-leaning districts have said they would not have voted for the bill, while unions are withholding support from some Democratic incumbents who voted against the legislation.

A Gallup poll taken earlier this month found that healthcare is still in the Top Five list of voters’ concerns. Another Gallup poll found that voters are “no less concerned about paying the costs of a serious illness or accident, or normal healthcare costs, than they were last year.”

In all, 20 GOP lawmakers co-sponsored the repeal-and-replace bill, including House Minority Leader John Boehner (Ohio), Whip Eric Cantor (Va.), GOP conference Chairman Mike Pence (Ind.) and Blunt.

An aide for Assistant to the Speaker Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) said that the “repeal Repubs” would create a boon for the health insurance industry.

Repeal Repubs are out of step with the majority of Americans who want to give the reform bill a chance to work. If the GOP gets their way, they would actually strip individuals and families of important rights and benefits and add to the deficit they created. This is a healthcare bill only insurance companies would love,” Van Hollen spokesman Doug Thornell said.

Good for the GOP.
They ought to keep introducing repeal bills weekly until November and hold a press conference after every vote.

  1. “Popul”?

  2. It’s a good start.

The majority didn’t want it and the more people hear about it the NON-HEALTHCARE BILL the majority grows.

The GOP should do America a favor and SAY JUST NO TO ANYTHING OBAMA WANTS.

No more Grahamnestys. No more McCains.

  3. Pelosi said it would very rapidly create 400,000 jobs. How is that coming?

  4. It’s safe to assume if Obama or Congress want a piece of legislation signed into law, it’s bad for America.
    Very, very bad.

    God help us.

  5. “would very rapidly create 400,000 jobs…” creating new agencies, etc while connected
cronies will start calling in favors for their support of obama and the dem agenda. part of
what makes government jobs a pain is when the political appointees are useless. some jobs
are only obtainable with the better connections.
and some of the 400,000 would be security to
buffer the “elites” from the “rubes” when the rubes wake up – usually when the movers and shakers develope amnesia.

  6. I’ve been saying this again and again and I’ll just say it one more time:

This “healthcare” bill simply tries to copy failed European concepts. I know, many people believe that the European healthcare systems are so great, but every single American praising these system, who I have met, has never been under these systems.

The British system is bankrupt, top heavy, overly expensive and waiting times are killing people (waiting time for surgery when you have skin cancer in the UK is three months, by this time the cancer has already formed metastases and surgery is pointless.) The Austrian system is completely bankrupt. The German system, well, Germany’s welfare state is out of control (2010 budget for Germany is 320 billion Euros, with 150 of those going into the welfare state, while 80 of those are new, aditional debt to the, already, out of control national debt of Germany.) The Greek system has collapsed. The Swedish system can only be kept up with horrendous taxes.

Expect the waiting time for treatment to go up significantly. Expect an overall decrease in quality of treatment. Expect a significant damage to the medical infrastructure as well. Because this is happening in Europe when you can only rely on the nationalized healthcare.

In many European countries people, who can afford it, flock to private insurance because the nationalized healthcare is utterly broken.

And now comes an interesting little question:

The country with the lowest mortality rate, worldwide, in the breast cancer area is what?

    The US.

The US had the best rate of survivability for women with breast cancer, thanks to the programs installed in the old healthcare system. These programs have now been removed. Expect the mortality rate to go up.

Also, expect the taxes to go up, because more spending (and this “healthcare” bill will lead to more spending) can only be done with more taxes. Won’t change anything though, the US will still drift towards bankrupcy, just like the EU countries, with this system.

Also explain to me… if this “healthcare” bill is so great, why are the Senators and Congressmen keeping their “cadillac” healthcare?

All animals are equal. Just some animals are more equal than others.

  7. Pelosi said it would very rapidly create 400,000 jobs.

What “smart” people like Pelosi forget is… Doctors and nurses need to be trained. That takes a while and not everybody who starts it is cut out for this job. Things like that are tried in Germany and Austria as well. Politicians call it the “Pflegeoffensive”, the “care offensive”, to get more people into becoming nurses (because we are lacking them, have been for years, and the solution until now was importing nurses from the Philipines and other countries -but the nurses from the Philipines now go to Japan where they are paid more and are closer to home), and it’s not working. Politicians always forget that training even “just” as nurse takes several years and requires hard work and dedication.

400,000 jobs in healthcare is a rather unrealistic estimate anyway.

Most of those would be deskjobs anyway.

  8. Just repeal it, no need to replace it with anything. When the economy improves then put something else in. Any healthcare that requires mandatory participation at the threat of jailtime is a deal breaker.
Also reinstate “don’t ask don’t tell” which looks like it’s going to be repealed. If they want gays in the military form a “gay brigade” branch, they can serve there with there midriff cutoff shirts to there hearts content. Lets keep our edge in the battlefield.

  9. I work in both two parts of the medical industry, patient care and administration. I am against this bill.

The level of care and quality of doctors in our hospitals is outstanding. Medicaid for those who choose to leech the system from birth to death is draining us. Giving medicaid a short half-life would save more money than anything.

I think repealing this pseudo-health insurance is a great idea. We have to get the law off the books. I would hate to see the healthcare in this country be downgraded and its workers demoralized.

  10. “both two parts”

ahem…sorry….no coffee yet…just pick which one…either “both” or “two” LOL!!!

Have a great day everyone!!! :)

  11. An aide for Assistant to the Speaker Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) said that the “repeal Repubs” would create a boon for the health insurance industry.

“Repeal Repubs are out of step with the majority of Americans who want to give the reform bill a chance to work.

Orrrrrrrrr…maybe the idiot Democrats who jammed this bill down the collective throats of the American people are out of step with the majority of Americans who want this POS repealed, pronto. Did that ever cross your mind, there, Skippy?

  12. Repeal Baby, Repeal

  13. “Repeal Repubs are out of step with the majority of Americans who want to give the reform bill a chance to work. If the GOP gets their way, they would actually strip individuals and families of important rights and benefits and add to the deficit they created. This is a healthcare bill only insurance companies would love,” Van Hollen spokesman Doug Thornell said.

    “Good for the GOP.
They ought to keep introducing repeal bills weekly until November and hold a press conference after every vote.”

Be careful what you wish for Van Hollen. We intend to kick most of you out, and we will repeal this marxist fantasy of yours.

  14. Let the games begin!

  15. Not only repeal the healthcare bill. Toss out Democrats by the boat load and RINO’s too. Conservative/Libertarian candidates will take the majority. Republican party will be reshaped from within. This is a 20+ goal I have had to reform the repub party. You don’t get it done overnight and you cannot walk away, EVER. An informed electorate is the bain of poor leadership.

  16. Several of my customers are doctors. NONE of them like it. I have heard that there are huge numbers of associates of my customers who will retire if and when this healthcare mess goes live.

I still say defunding it will kill it. Easier than trying to repeal. Then make the reform that should be done like tort reform and portability. My state does not allow for denial for pre-existing when changing policies as long as you have been covered continuously. So that means that changing jobs doesn’t hurt anyone.

Why can’t that go national? Works for us in our state.

And if the policy was portable and could cross state lines, then there would be more competition, hence driving down policy costs.

Health insurance can be made better. We just don’t need to kill our quality healthcare.

  17. Why do I seem to always think the GOP is into stunts instead of action.

  18. Militant Conservative
    May 28th, 2010 | 7:16 am | #16

Conservative/Libertarian candidates will take the majority.

IMO, Conservative . . . yes. Libertarian . . . not so much. I find too many kooks in the libertarian group. I find too many liberatians are the right side of anarchism. There has to be some rules. A society without rules is chaos.

  19. It’s been a year now and I’m still asking my wife what she did with my “Obama Sucks” t-shirt…

  20. What’s Wrong? All I want is your family’s money and medical records?

Let me be clear, the American tax payers suck and don’t know how to handle their medical care – so I will. This is why I rammed 0bamacare through – like Barney Frank ramming his weenie into my pooch.

Like Barney Frank, you can lead them to water. And, by golly, I’ll make them drink even if I have to stick their ignorant heads in it, pucker my lips around their rectums and suck.

I tried that with Barney Frank and he liked it… It is true, I got a butt load of tape worms in my mouth but that is a small price to pay to re-hydrate Barney Frank and fix America.

No, I will not be joining 0bamacare. It sucks. And, no, I will not be giving out any of my medical records like my birth certificate. My ADHD and Tourette syndrome medical are private. I have my lush government medical care and I will not give it up. America sucks and I will suck to prove it. I cannot answer any more questions. Good Day.

  21. Pat #17

That is correct. We will lose about half our doctors when Deathcare goes into effect. More customers, fewer doctors. Obama’s dream of destroying the country.

  22. Patman wear the shirt with pride! i,ve been wearing my”somewhere in kenya a village is missing their idiot “shirt since the POS was elected……

Not the legalize drugs, cat houses and all that. I mean the true libertarians that believe in small limited govmt. Yet there is always a nut or two that gets into the woodpile.

  24. WHAT “LIBBY” @ # 5!!!! EXACTLY!!! (That is my first argument to my Lib “Friends” and/or Relatives… “Since Frank and Dodd wrote this Bill…THINK…Think Libs Think…WHAT DOES IT MEAN if written by Frank/Dodd/JohnKerry/Hog-Nose Waxman and others” YES it is safe to say that whatever was Written or Made Law by BHO or Pelosi/Reed is Not Good for America!!

  25. MC!! I love you….BUT the Libertarians ARE a little hard to take. John Stossell comes to mind.

  26. The Republicans are on a winner here. And even though this bill probably won’t get a floor vote–the point will be made.

  27. seven — Yes the Healthcare Bill will create 400,000 govt jobs but 2 million private sector jobs will be lost. We have seen how this Administration has handled the oil spill. Their handling of Healthcare would be a real doozy.

  28. I wonder when Colon Powell, David Brooks, and a slew of other supposedly conservative (in name only), hangers around type opinion mongers will wake up?
I haven’t had any fondness for this lady in several years now, but by damn, when she’s hot she’s hot! Or maybe she just woke up and smelled the coffee.

  29. OT BUT Please Watch!! “Nothing like an adult calling a child a “stupid little bigot” because she holds different views. Even worse, the school has refused to discipline the driver…” This is a FEMALE! That Bus Driver went BACK to the little girl’s home AFTER the Bus Run to further harrass them. This one just gotta see!! The comments are spot on too http://weaselzippers.us/2010/05/27/video-lefty-school-bus-driver-verbally-abuses-little-girl-over-her-christian-beliefs/

  30. The White House has hit a new low. They are blaming Bill Clinton for the offer made to Sestak of a job in the Administration. Why that should satisfy everyone. Emanuel supposedly asked Clinton in the most informal way to speak to Sestak. The only wimp who could have thought of this is Obama.

Can’t wait to get Rush’s take.

  31. Try it again in January.

    REPEAL, REVOKE, RENEW!

  32. Good. Keep it up. Keep putting the ball up, and eventually it goes in.

  33. Daryl #29, I’m not impressed when a highly credentialed, sophisticated, went-to-the-right-schools intellectualoid finally notices what so many of us little people saw long ago.

  34. Good!

  35. If you agree with this, call your House Rep and tell them so! If they are Republicans and are already on board, call them and give them an atta boy, they need it!

Let them know you want Obamacare GONE!

  36. That bill has a snowball’s chance in Searchlight of ever being passed by this Congress.

  37. Radegunda

    May 28th, 2010 | 11:35 am | #35

    ” Daryl #29, I’m not impressed……….”

I wasn’t trying to impress anyone. Just that when someone like Noonan admits she was dead wrong about obama, others like her start to have second thoughts also and that can’t be a bad thing..

  38. Currently employed in healthcare administration. This healthcare bill will close alot of hospitals, doctor’s offices and send a negative ripple out to vendors, insurance companies, publishers, medical research and much much more.
Wait till the govt closes a trauma center near you and the closest one is 2.5 hours away. Too bad for the gang member shot and living because Doctors and nurses keep him alive and not one red penny received on the 1.8 MILLION dollar bill he walked out with.
REPEAL. REPEAL. REPEAL Obamacare and dont make another one until the economy is stable again.

  39. Actually the bill was introduced by Republican/Libertarian Ron Paul. While the bill will not get anywhere in this Congress I expect that Paul will reintroduce it ASAP after the next Congress is sworn in subsequent to the November elections.

It should pass the house but the Senate will be a tough go.
