Miss Oklahoma Morgan Elizabeth Woolard was a top contestant for the Miss USA crown this year. But, after she came out in support of the Arizona immigration law she was forced to take a back seat to Miss Michigan. Miss Oklahoma was runner up in this year’s competition.
Here is how she handled the toughest political question of the night:
Apparently, although a great majority of Americans (62-73%) agree with her, the judges didn’t like her answer. She placed second.
Instead, Miss Michigan Rima Fakih, an Arab American whose family reportedly has strong ties to the Hezbollah terror organization, won the crown.

The question misrepresents the Arizona statute, presents racial profiling as a consequence of the statute, then asks: Do you think this should be mandated by the state or federal government? Should WHAT be mandated?
That was a set-up. Getting that incoherence unraveled would be five minutes work, not something a simple response could handle.
Is this a beauty pageant or a Sunday morning political cross-talk show?
If she had confronted the questioner, she might have stolen the show. Something like ‘Do you believe the state has a responsibility to enforce the law?’ , ‘Do you believe the law should be respected?’ or ‘Do you support entering, residing, working and enjoying government services illegally?’.

It is truly a shame to see how political the Miss U.S.A. pageant remains to be. Last year, the “political correctness” onslaught began with the rejection of Carrie Prejean’s answer that marriage is the union of one man and one woman. This year, Miss Oklahoma supported the Arizona illegal immigrant law (although she adeptly added that she is against racial profiling which the law prohibits as well) through agreeing that STATES RIGHTS should determine such hotbed issues. Because of her answer, she got second place.
Does anyone recall the question that Miss Michigan got?
Would that same judge have asked Miss Michigan a politically volatile question like what does she think about a Muslim Mosque being built at the 9/11/2001 World Trade Center terrorist attack area despite millions of AMERICAN people protesting such a structure being built because it is an insult to “celebrate” the religion of Islam that was the reason for the destruction in the first place?

Critics of the Arizona bill ar being hypocritical as Mexican law states that illegal immigration is a felony punishable by two years in prison. No one in Arizona is going to jail for two years and we all have to show I.D. now just to write a check at the grocery store.
