As someone who has written a great deal about the double standard applied to “Islamic sensitivities” I can only say it’s long past time someone other than Trey Parker, Matt Stone & Dutch Cartoonists tackled this issue…
As I said in an article after the original Cartoon Wars of 2005 I don’t believe all those brave people who stormed the beaches of Europe & the Pacific in the 1940′s spilled their blood to be bullied by an ignorant mob.
I only wish I had some artistic talent so I could lend my voice today.

I am very sorry to see what Mohammed’s followers have made of his own, decent, teaching. It’s this simple: the man refused to have his portrait done, because, he said, he wasn’t a god and he did not want people to worship him.
And that’s been turned into an excuse for violence and oppression of normal, ordinary folk.
If Mohammed were here today, he’d be cheering for the cartoonists.

It is nothing less than amazing that holy men decrying the desecration of their religion would create such foul images, but there you have it. It is as if the pope created “Piss Christ” and then passed it off as the work of critics of Catholicism.

The teachings of Muhammed– heretic, warlord, slaveholder, and pedophile– were the indecent ramblings of a genocidal maniac who misunderstood both Judaism and Christianity.
You posted a cooment last week, Valerie, about the Soviets exploiting the Afghans and the resultant violence. The Qu’ran, Hadith (life stories of Muhammed), and the Sura verses are the inspiration for these terrorist acts just as they have been for 1,368 years.
Many people have been threatened when approaching Muhammed’s life as a biography project. Many films have had to be scrapped for the same reason as these cartoonists have been hunted down like animals.
Robert Spencer (JihadWatch.org) has successfully penned several books exposing Islam, including “The Truth About Muhammed.” Spencer has been untouchable from a legal standpoint because he quotes the Qu’ran and traffics in reality.
Islam cannot stand up to scrutiny because it is false teaching protected by violence. Apostates are murdered per the direction of Muhammed. Muslims today are just like Muslims of centuries past: followers of a cult that enforces its creed with violence.

It’s really simple Joanne. Muslims have said, declared that drawing Mohammed in any form is not allowed. Even those not a member of their religon are forbidden to do so. Do it and you are to be killed for blasphemy.

I am also well aware that the real Muslim scholars understand and embrace the core teachings of Judaism.

The quotes from Mark and Matthew are Jesus referring to the Torah.
We don’t have time to wait for the Muslim clergy to try to turn their flocks around: we need to confront real, great evil in our time, today. I think this cartoon campaign is a fine idea. I also think this cartoon campaign is in the spirit and keeping of decent Muslim thinking.
I intend to keep pointing that out, because it is Islamic Rage Boy who is the blasphemer, not some cartoonist repelled by the ugliness of Islamic Rage Boy’s evil.

In the spririt of EDMD and to show our appreciation for the prophet Mooo-Ham-Ed we should welcome the new mosque planned near ground zero.
We should also support the devastated area by starting new businesses directly across the street.
A brewery and and pork processing plant come to mind as appropriate.
Ohhh I’m liking this better and better.
Just think of the contortions the left will have to go through while describing these new businesses as “insensitve” to the community while the new mosque is not.
Also – they would have a hard time fighting against the new job opportunities in this rough economy – espeically in the economically devastated area wrought by the destruction of the Twin Towers by the Religion of Peace.

Yes, it is an appropriate, and quite mild response to the murders, the threats, and massive ugliness of those who engage in hirabah (unholy war) against all of God’s children. There are a bunch of perverts who have made a false god out of Mohammed’s image, and who have slandered God by threatening to murder people for the big non-sin of drawing a picture.
When the real, ordinary Muslims around them in Denmark were not perturbed enough to pick a fight over some cartoons, they drew some more of their own, and went far away, to lie about the cartoons and about mistreatment they never received at the hands of innocent, unoffensive people.
This whole Islamic Rage thing is a huge lie, and is itself UnIslamic. We don’t have to buy into any part of it.

Allah is not the God of Israel or the Christian Trinity. Mohammed was not a prophet. Arabs bowed to Mecca and worshiped Allah, one of the hundreds of false Gods, hundreds of years before Muhammed was born.
Islamists refer to Christians and Jews as People of the Book. The Book or Bible was corrupted by the spawn of apes and pigs [Christians and Jews] and Muhammed received the Qu’ran as Allah’s final word.
Like the New Age movement, Islam mixes some truth with lies to deceive.
OUR INHERITANCE IS THROUGH ISAAC: both Testaments teach this; the Qu’ran does not. The Qu’ran is the antithesis of the Bible; you cannot believe both.

We just heard a Muslim student at a CA college admit she was “for it,” it being a 2nd Holocaust. She was met with disagreement, not attacks.
I have a simple question.
Where are the Jews and Christians, Gays and Hindus, rioting and killing people over things that REALLY happened, as opposed to your brothers killing nuns, priests, etc. over a stinking cartoon? Or the Pope asking a simple question?

Why I agree with and support that people have the “right” to do this. I still think it is a wrong headed notion. I mean, does the world really need more graven images of Muhammad?
