Dem Strategist James Carville Unloads On Obama For Pathetic Response to Disastrous Oil Spill (Video)

“Lackadaisical” and “Naive”
Democratic strategist James Carville unloaded on the Obama Administration for their pathetic response to the BP oil spill.
The Huffington Post reported, via Memeorandum:
Democratic strategist James Carville and MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews, two reliable supporters of President Barack Obama, have issued withering critiques of the administration’s handling of the Gulf oil spill.
Carville, the famously outspoken Louisianian who was a chief political aide to Bill and Hillary Clinton, told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Thursday that the administration’s response to the spill has been “lackadaisical” and that Obama was “naive” to trust BP to manage the massive clean-up effort.
“I think they actually believe that BP has some kind of a good motivation here,” he said. “They’re naive! BP is trying to save money, save everything they can… They won’t tell us anything, and oddly enough, the government seems to be going along with it! Somebody has got to, like shake them and say, ‘These people don’t wish you well! They’re going to take you down!’”
Carville also accused the White House of going along with what he called the “let BP handle it” strategy.
“I’m as good a Democrat as most people, and I think this administration has done some good things. They are risking everything by this ‘go along with BP’ strategy they have that seems like, lackadaisical on this, and Doug is right, they seem like they’re inconvenienced by this, this is some giant thing getting in their way and somehow or another, if you let BP handle it, it’ll all go away. It’s not going away. It’s growing out there. It is a disaster of the first magnitude, and they’ve got to go to Plan B.”

Dunno. Carville was typical anti-business and he’s a Clintonite, so he don’t mind criticizing either BP or Obama. BP is losing money by the barrel, literally. It’s not in their financial or political interest to be cheap about it.
In contrast, the WHite House has everything to gain by letting it spew so they can have all sorts of reasons to shut down offshore rigs. Wait till the inferior Chinese off shore platforms for Cuba spring a leak or two. The Democrats want ALL out domestic production shut down, to make America a dependency, but one foot off the international line, the Chinese are drilling wells that can easily make Florida look like the La Breda Tar Pits.

Obama did the Worst of all things, he did “let BP handle it” strategy while at the same time doing everything he could to hinder and undermine BP by putting a boot on the BP’s neck! WTF!! what kind of assshole does that? What kind of cooperation is that when you need something fixed/accomplished?
IF Obama was going to let BP handle it themselves he should have been working with BP in cooperation as much as possible helping them and giving them as much help resources etc as they asked for or needed, thats how you solve a problem, NOT by putting your boot on their neck! Knowing that in the end BP is responsible to the bill, after the leak is stopped then worry about the monetary costs.

I am anti-Obama, but I don’t know what the feds are supposed to do precisely. Is this not another instance–like Katrina–that federal bureaucracies are just too big and unwieldly to deal with such problems? Or are O and the incompetent cabinet avoiding doing constructive things to help out? Also, I am pro-business and pro-oil drilling on land and wherever technically feasible. But why has it taken almost 4 weeks for BP to try to plug the darn thing up? And it’s still not plugged.
I suspect there’s plenty of blame to go around.

Beg to differ, but, I live in South Louisiana. Obama placed the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Corps of Engineers in complete charge of the Oil Spill portion of this disaster. BP just finances what the Federal Dot.Gov tells them is required, hires the resources to do it and provides it to them to oversee the Federal Oil Spill Plan. The “Corpse” of Engineers as Obama so succinctly pronounces it, have refused to allow Louisianas plan of temporary placement of berms to keep the Oil from penetrating the Marshes. The direction of the Coast Guard and their “political allocation” of Oil Booms to areas that aren’t in the path of the spill have the population here ready to revolt and take the matter into our own hands.
