The cut-&-run Democrats all cheered when they finally had enough votes to surrender Iraq to the terrorists.
Fortunately, for the Iraqi children President George W. Bush was not a quitter.
Now, these white flag wavers who don’t even know who the enemy is believe they are better at fighting man-caused disasters than the GOP.
The Hill reported, via Free Republic:
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) on Tuesday said the Obama administration has been more successful in combating terrorism than its predecessor.
“We’re tough on terrorists. That’s our policy. That’s our performance. And, in fact, we’ve been more successful,” Hoyer said at his weekly press availability.
Former President George W. Bush’s presidency was dominated by the issue of terrorism, and Bush’s vice president, Dick Cheney, has taken several shots at Democrats and President Barack Obama for endangering national security.
Hoyer’s remarks Tuesday appeared designed to counterattack Republicans looking to the attempted bombing Saturday in Times Square as evidence that Democrats are not doing enough to stop terrorists.

In the past year we have had 2 major terrorist attempts get through to the implementation phase both of which only failed to result in loss of life due to the incompetence of the terrorist. How many attempts were there from 2001 to 2008 again? I would also add that the likely reason we survived these 2 attacks are in part because our enemy has been throwing their A-team against the steel of our professional military in Iraq and Afghanistan and are forced to use B-teamers.

What a disgusting pig this moral idiot is. Politicizing the protection of the American people!

Lets see… the underwear bomber failed to set off his bloomers, otherwise everyone on a plane would have been annihilated… a Pakistani doesn’t know how to light a firecracker, otherwise a fairly well populated gathering spot in a somewhat large city would have likely suffered tragic consequences.
Thanks Steny… your clowns are making me feel safer by the hour.

Hoyer should stick to cruise directing, bar backing on Pelosi Galore’s air liner and if he was any kind of gentleman at all, he would tote that gimoungus gavel she carries everywhere lately.
That would be great experience for when he joins the ranks of “oh, how the mighty have fallen’ in November.

Do the t-shirt vendors at Times Square get any credit?

Word is they are veterans.

Furthermore, I can’t think of one thing this administration has done that’s been tough on terrorists!
NOT one….
Perhaps they need to back up their self congratulating claims with examples of something besides their ineptitude.
Just because you say it, doesn’t make it so.

…first thing on the minds of this administration was “get him lawyered up and read him his Miranda rights”…then have a photo op and take all the credit for successfully thwarting another “it’s Bush’s fault” disgruntled, religion-of-peace, overseas contigent participator who happened to be doing his thing on American soil.

Hoyer’s entire claim is dependent on the ineptitude of terrorists.
Wonderful.

This is a joke, right?

Had the undie bomber been successful, we would have been told that lightning or some other natural thing brought down the air plane. They would never have even mentioned a “man caused disaster” because it doesn’t fit into their narrative. NY? Just a big SUV backfire if it had gotten off. No terrorism to see here folks, move along.
Freddy commented:
Maybe Hoyer was referring to that Hutaree militia?
… what do you mean they have been released on bail? … why would a judge let them out if their attack was imminent? … could it be that there was no imminent attack and the justice dept made most all of the story up? …

Don’t be silly, these dimwits have SAVED or CREATED MILLIONS of TERRORIST JOBS.

Seriously, if these hacks had any intention of fighting terrorism and keeping America safe, they might have considered someone other than Napolitano. How frigging moronic a pick is that??
And Rodham as Secretary of State? The f@#king freaks have no idea what they are doing.
I suggest Steny run along and find some bottle to crawl into.

Actually, the LEFTISTS are better at starting riots and then covering up their involvement for decades.
FBI: Shots fired at National Guard in Kent State 1970 incident
“The Washington Times reports that newly released documents in the May 1970 Kent State shooting of several students by National Guard troops state the the troops may have been provoked by a sniper;
“We did it,” one man exulted, according to the inquiry. “We got the riot started.”
The second man expressed disappointment at being excluded from the riot’s planning. “Wait until tomorrow night,” the leader replied excitedly. “We just got the word. We’re going to burn the ROTC building.”
This was 20 hours before the ROTC headquarters on the Kent State campus, an old wooden frame building, was, in fact, burned to the ground.
Despite the classic media account that the National Guard fired for no real reason, the FBI had evidence to the contrary;”
When I completed my ROTC training and received my commission in 1969 (different college, not Kent State), anti-war TERRORISTS also burned our ROTC building down…never caught them.

The delusional aspect of Hoyer’s remarks is that he actually believes his comment helps the Dims.
How many Dim suicides will occur after the election in November? If they can’t face reality now, . . .
Scrapiron commented:
They’re really good at catching terrorists, after the fact. If the NYC bomber hadn’t been a modern day version of ‘Wiley Coyote’ hundreds of people would be dead. The police had ’0′ to do with stopping the deaths from happening.
Socialist Democrats live in a dream world. The bombing/attempted bombing should tell them that stupid things like Gun control will never work. Take away a mans gun and he wants to kill somone he’ll take out hundreds, with easily available (everywhere) explosives, to get his target.
