Confirmed: Unarmed National Guard Troops Won't Be Used to Stop Illegal Immigrants

Mexican President Calderon was right.
Those 1,200 National Guard troops who are being sent to the border… Will not be used to curb illegal immigration.
The AFP reported:
US National Guard troops being sent to the Mexican border will be used to stem the flow of guns and drugs across the frontier and not to enforce US immigration laws, the State Department said Wednesday.
The clarification came after the Mexican government urged Washington not to use the additional troops to go after illegal immigrants.
President Barack Obama on Tuesday authorized the deployment of up to 1,200 additional troops to border areas but State Department spokesman Philip Crowley told reporters, “It’s not about immigration.”
He said the move was “fully consistent with our efforts to do our part to stem, you know, violence, to interdict the flow of dangerous people and dangerous goods — drugs, guns, people.”
He said the extra troops would be used to free up civilians engaged in support functions so that law enforcement personnel can be increased along the 2,000-mile-long (3,200 kilometer) border.
Nearly 13 million Mexicans live in the United States, more than half of them illegally.
“We have explained the president’s announcement to the government of Mexico, and they fully understand the rationale behind it,” Crowley said.
Oh… And, the National Guard troops will not be armed.

Last week, one of the millions of workers hired by Census 2010 to parade around the country counting Americans blew the whistle on some statistical tricks.
The worker, Naomi Cohn, told The Post that she was hired and fired a number of times by Census. Each time she was hired back, it seems, Census was able to report the creation of a new job to the Labor Department.
Below, I have a couple more readers who worked for Census 2010 and have tales to tell.
But first, this much we know.
Each month Census gives Labor a figure on the number of workers it has hired. That figure goes into the closely followed monthly employment report Labor provides. For the past two months the hiring by Census has made up a good portion of the new jobs.
Labor doesn’t check the Census hiring figure or whether the jobs are actually new or recycled. It considers a new job to have been created if someone is hired to work at least one hour a month.
One hour! A month! So, if a worker is terminated after only one hour and another is hired in her place, then a second new job can apparently be reported to Labor . (I’ve been unable to get Census to explain this to me.)
Here’s a note from a Census worker — this one from Manhattan:
“John: I am on my fourth rehire with the 2010 Census.
“I have been hired, trained for a week, given a few hours of work, then laid off. So my unemployed self now counts for four new jobs.
“I have been paid more to train all four times than I have been paid to actually produce results. These are my tax dollars and your tax dollars at work.
“A few months ago I was trained for three days and offered five hours of work counting the homeless. Now, I am knocking (on) doors trying to find the people that have not returned their Census forms. I worked the 2000 Census. It was a far more organized venture.
“Have to run and meet my crew leader, even though with this rain I did not work today. So I can put in a pay sheet for the hour or hour and a half this meeting will take. Sincerely, C.M.”

So, if they are there to stop drug and arms smugglers who carry guns and will undoubtedly use them against the National Guard, it is tantamount to sending these men/women to their death if they are unarmed.
As far as Calderon, why doesn’t he fix his own country so these people do not feel they have to leave it instead of dictating to us? In any event, maybe he should change Mexico’s immigration law since he thinks that the US one is so unfair yet it is not nearly as stringent as the one from his own country.

Look we sent Nat. Guard troops to the boarder a couple of years ago, all they did was change oil on the motor pool, and clerical work, never did they get between an illegal and the boarder. This is all smoke!
As a matter of fact an armed band attacked a National Guard outpost, the guard had to retreat, post haste, because they were UNARMED. These were ROE of then Governor of Arizona Janet Nepolitano. Unarmed, and if armed, weapons not loaded. Their all crazy, and are going to get us all killed!!!

We had another Police officer killed here in Phoenix today by an Hispanic, they were VERY QUICK to state that he was not an illegal. Not illegal? he had an extensive criminal record, and should never have been walking free. The officer was killed from ambush while searching for the killer, all he was wanted for was speeding and eluding, no reason to kill, something else had to be involved, stay tuned.

Two comments about policing.
1. To Jainphx (who reported about the murdered police officer) and everyone else who thinks the police, soldiers, firefighters and emts should be lumped in with every other “union type” when it comes to early retirement and other benefits.
This is WHY it is a young man’s game. The killing of of the officer shows one of the many risks police face every day. Accidents, beatings, exposure to high risk environments, AIDs and other deadly or permanently damaging STD’s, chemicals, terrorism, etc. etc. etc.
The police handle all the stuff YOU DON’T WANT TO! and do it usually quietly, professionally and at a huge risk to our own health.
I’ve had a crazy woman in a domestic try to stab me in a fit of rage. That ended up with a little lucky grab of the plunging knife as it went by and a hip toss. Thankfully she was small and crazier than a bed bug and didn’t know what she was doing. The other officer, an older, slower man, didn’t even see the attack coming. I’ve had an idiot, drunk off his rear, thinking we were some kind of stalkers, try to shoot me from about 10ft as he ran out of the darkness ambushing us. The only thing that saved me and my partner was he had short stroked the .380 and the round didn’t cycle up into the chamber. I still remember seeing him run up out of the corner of my eye and the pistol barrel bouncing up and down as he pulled the trigger over and over.
Sometimes it is blind luck that saves us. Sometimes they are better than we are and we lose.
2. Let me tell you about the last time we experienced unarmed National Guard involved in a crisis. For us it was when Andrew hit Miami. We sent some of our people over there. They came back with stories about how the National Guard, deployed with no bullets, were being robbed of their functioning but empty M16′s by drug dealers and gangs, who did have loaded weapons. All was not lost though. A buddy of mine told me about one Guardsman that caught a looter stealing from a fast food restaurant. He couldn’t arrest him, couldn’t shoot him, so he did the next best thing. He ran the scumbag down and buttstroked him across the head with his rifle. The last time anyone saw the guy, he was knocked cold, arms full of Burger King whoppers.
The Guardsmen are good guys and girls, who will be given the task of standing around “deploying each other” over and over. “Frank, you go there and then radio back and tell me to go over here. After lunch, we’ll switch.”
Jeezz.. it is almost as bad as telling military units in Afghanistan to patrol in “condition one.”

A hollow publicity stunt hatched by Obama and John McCain to keep Johnny’s sagging primary poll numbers from sliding any furthur. While posing as ” border security” these national guard will be escorting the illegals to the nearest welfare safe house shelter so they don’t have to worry about being picked up by AZ police.

Arizona does not have a State Defense Force (only 22 states do), and the National Guard can be nationalized by Presidential decree, which would leave AZ with no way to defend herself.
This administration and congress have the habit of planting the seed for the next action. Its thier M.O. The seed for ObamaCare (deathpanels) was in Stimulus, the seed for Finance Reform was in Obamacare (collecting finance information).. and so on. They hide the worst part of thier plan in the previous operation, to make the next step seem innoccous.
