“The big news is Brazil and Turkey. Let’s not kid ourselves. Turkey is a NATO ally. And, the Prime Minister of Turkey stood there with the President of Iran and the President of Brazil and attempted to thwart the effort to get any sanctions on Iran… We weakened the sanctions further. Russia is able to send the anti-aircraft missiles to Iran. Brazil, the largest country in South America in our backyard, had no problem standing up to what is supposedly the core concern of the US President. It’s a sign of how weak we’ve become…

America has lost sway in the world – with her allies and her enemies. People respect those they fear, and America’s enemies no longer fear her with Obama at the helm – the disgusting appeaser with no moral compass. Obama is but one man; America is filled with millions of people who haven’t bothered to stand up for what is right and have allowed the minority of the population to become its head instead of its tail, ruling the majority. I’ve been saying for a while that if the troops really start coming home from Iraq in August as planned, then after the election and probably early in 2011, Obama is suddenly going to get concerned about the budget deficit and announce plans to drastically cut the military budget.
Power abhors a vacuum is not a cliche. Loose alliances are already starting to form (Iran, Turkey, Brazil) and North Korea/China/Russia — and this is happening while our military is still strong. Our alliances are with a Wetern Europe that has been so focused on a social welfare state they are on the verge of bankruptcy.

Kristol was far too polite. The US has not “lost sway”. Obama’s made it clear that the only war he is willing to wage is one against western civilization, abroad and at home. Our enemies know it, and we’re about to reap the whirlwind.

I liked Bill Kristol some years back but isn’t he one of those guys who was supposed to be helping run things in the country while we did our jobs and raised families and like that? Isn’t he supposed to be such a political genius?
Well I’m tired of these guys, and that goes for Krauthammer, too. We’ve been flailing around for years. They (these guys in the know, inside the beltway, with the power and clout and on the cocktail party circuit) have lead us wrong. They gave us dopes to elect. Who gave us John McCain???? With a real candidate in 08 maybe we wouldn’t be so screwed now. And they still won’t take a stand. The only tough guys in this country today are Sarah Palin and Jan Brewer.
