Woah… 4 in 10 tea party protesters are either democrat or independents.
The democratic-media complex may want to think twice before they continue their slander and attack campaign against this group.
The Hill reported:

Four in 10 Tea Party members are either Democrats or Independents, according to a new national survey.

The findings provide one of the most detailed portraits to date of the grassroots movement that started last year.

The national breakdown of the Tea Party composition is 57 percent Republican, 28 percent Independent and 13 percent Democratic, according to three national polls by the Winston Group, a Republican-leaning firm that conducted the surveys on behalf of an education advocacy group. Two-thirds of the group call themselves conservative, 26 are moderate and 8 percent say they are liberal.

The Winston Group conducted three national telephone surveys of 1,000 registered voters between December and February. Of those polled, 17 percent – more than 500 people — said they were “part of the Tea Party movement.”

“It’s a good sample size,” said David Winston, the polling firm’s director. “It will certainly give us an initial base to follow where these folks are.”

The group is united around two issues – the economy/jobs and reducing the deficit. They believe that cutting spending is the key to job creation and favor tax cuts as the best way to stimulate the economy. That said 61 percent of Tea Party members believe infrastructure spending creates jobs. Moreover, given the choice Tea Party members favor 63-32 reducing unemployment to 5 percent over balancing the budget.

  1. Most of the “Anti-war” moment has turned into the tea party, has anyone ever asked what happened to the “Anti-war” movement? Are we still at War? Yes! so where are they? answer it was a democrat movement not an anti-war movement the same way that the “tea-party” movement is a Democrat movement to pull votes away from Republicans..

  2. every time you say “there is no difference between Democrats or Republicans” or “Republicans did it too” you are doing the work for the Democrat party and they thank you and will repay you with higher debt, deficits , taxes and moral decline.

  3. not a surprise at all. 25 year Dem here and have been going to the tea parties. in a very blue state and i see lots of other familiar faces that are dems. Why do you think Tea parties are viewed so favorable and gaining people every day? It’s because people have family and friends that are tea party people and whether they agree with the phoilosphy or not, they see the media and elected Democrats smearing them with over the top nonsense and it is pissing them off royally.

Nothing turns people toward the Tea party more than the left and media smearing their loved ones.

  4. The uniting factor is the Constitution. Tea Partiers have been saying flat out it transcends political parties. The media isn’t used to straight up – it’s always sneaking around back looking for the”hidden meaning.”

  5. Polls also show that 10 out of 10 Obama-Pelosi-Reid-DNC supporters are Communists, Anarchists, Black Liberationists, Fascists, Radical Muslim Jihadis, Tyrant Dictators, Criminals, Racists……

  6. This is excellent news.

I don’t get all the numbers, so I assume the paragraphs you quote were edited in some way that left out a crucial piece of information: the number of people surveyed. It wasn’t 1,000 and it wasn’t 3,000. I hope they fix that in the original, soon.

That (17%) is a whopping bunch of people who identify themselves as part of the Tea Party movement. No wonder the Democrats at the national level and their tame talking heads are sounding so shrill.

The number of Democrats and Liberals is big, too. This could be a sign of seriousness.

I’m a Liberal, and I view the Conservative viewpoint as legitimate: it must be incorporated into our country’s legislation, if the legislation is to function properly, that is to secure the general welfare of our people.

This is a big country, that stretches across an entire continent, with states the size of other countries. It has lots of cities, and coastline, and wide, landlocked areas, open spaces, and a dozen agricultural zones. Our legislation should be complicated because it must be applied across huge ranges of situations and climates.

It offends me that so much recent legislation was written and passed through obvious and crude efforts to deny any input from a political party that represents just about half of our citizens.

I worry about the monstrous power grabs, particularly by the same people that set this economy up to tank, in the first place. It’s obvious that creating huge, clumsy entities vulnerable to the demands of politicians is a mistake that temporarily wrecked our economy: replicating that mistake with new entities just seems like borderline insanity.

See? You don’t have to be a Conservative to be angry with these jokers.

Ohhh, and lying about racial insults is not to be tolerated.

    Go get ‘em guys.

  7. This is why the left is attacking the TP so viciously they know they are losing Democrats and this is their way of trying to get them back. Unfortunately, this is disastrous for the Democrats because the more they vilify the TP the more people they lose, which is good for the GOP.

  8. Dems are pretty obvious when it comes to showing us who they fear. And they fear us.

  9. “the economy/jobs and reducing the deficit…”

Many people are out of work. They care less about Obama’s obsessions, such as Universal tyrannical takeover of the federal government, or his constant basketball analogies to foreign policy.

  10. The Obama regime is running rough shod over the Constitution, and implementing NAZism into American society, calling it Hope and Change — away from Constitutional Representationism. Anyone disagrees is framed a racist, KKK or kook.

  11. You mean, those people are concerned about http://www.BorderInvasionPics.com too?

    Who knew?

  12. I wonder how the democrat tea partiers are going to enjoy being slimed by their own party.

  13. no vc… most of the anti-war movement was political anti Bush/Republican….thats why u didnt see them when Clinton bombed Iraq and the same reason you dont see many today. Same way you dont see these same clowns railing on the patriot act they way they did under Bush, even tho it’s the same piece of paper and same group of words. Get real

  14. I’ve met anti war people and feminists at Tea Parties here in NYC. My guess is that everybody is mad at the out of control spending, not reading the bills and government intrusion of your health. The truth is finally getting out. I see more liberals really pissed off. The Stimulus Bill started it all. The government run media has no clothes anymore.

  15. Kate, the formerly Dem Tea Party members don’t enjoy the sliming at all. The gay bloggers at Hillbuzz, for example, have been threatened and stalked by Kos fanatics since they campaigned for Scott Brown. Lefties are bad against us. They are Brutal against those they consider to BELONG to them. Consider the threats of disembowelment and dismemberment against Zo, Alfonzo Rachel of PJTV.

  16. Ok 17% of 1000 said they were members of the teaparty…that does not make more than 500…
that makes 85 and that is not enough to do a good estimate…

Why doesn’t one of these polls go to a rally or something…

  17. apologize 17% of the 3 polls is 510 yet how many of these were repeats….It does appear that they based this on one question that looks like it was only asked in Feb of 2010
“Do you consider yourself a part of the tea party movement?”
Thus it seems that it was not 510 people…
    http://newmodelsusa.org/polldocs/new_models/pdf/Feb2010TeaPartyToplines.pdf

Hey I got called by one of the poll companys 3 times in a 4 month period…they do weeklies…
I saw the questions on some of the polls…

  18. And, then you have the mercenary dem and big union thugs show up to cause outrage . . .

    kinthenw:

    17% of 1,000 is 170.

    I didn’t even need a calculator.

Is that the same math you tyrant-wannabes use to calculate hell care will save the taxpayer (ever meet one?) $1 trillion?

Last pollish call I got was from the anti-breast cancer coalition. I’m opposed to that, too.

  19. Independent — they are trying to say that it was 17% of the 3 polls that each had a 1,000 participants…Thus 510…

However if you look at the polling information you will find that it is based on one question asked only in February of 1000 people in the poll …thus 17% of 1000 is not more than 500 like you said its only 170….

I think someone is punching in some weird numbers….No wonder our Government is screwed LOL

  20. Hellcare will cost a $Zillion dollars once it gets going.

  21. I was a Dem for 40 years, until I saw both sides run back to vote for the initial bailout – I kept thinking, shouldn’t one of you be against it?!

Anyway – too much truth is getting out via the internet, so they will have to squash that right away.

We need to find a different way to communicate. Any suggestions?

  22. BS, your question is excellent.

One way to back up communication capabilities is Twitter, which works well in chaotic situations such as the Iranian uprising.

Another thing everybody should be doing, especially since this is an election year, is contacting the local Tea Party chapter. And while you are doing that, you can meet them and make signs and show up at your local April 15th Tea Party. Then call them and meet and decide which local and state candidates deserve your support, then get to work for those candidates.

I personally am helping support Chuck DeVore for CA senate against Boxer. He is a Constitutional Conservative and I hope he gets the nomination. Doing this has helped me to meet a number of local patriots/political types, which is always a good thing.

  23. There will be more Democrats in the TPM when they figure out Zero isn’t even an American, which his own wife knows..

    Is Michelle Obama a “Birther”?

    “quote about 42 seconds in:

“We took our trip to Africa and visited his home country in Kenya.”

The Obama administration speaks with one voice. Unfortunately, it’s the voice of a schizophrenic!”

This pseudo-POTUS is a citizen of the world as he has said not of America.

I’ll be kind since you just sound misinformed.
The TPM is a return to the constitution and it’s ideals. This is NOT a political party. WE THE PEOPLE are picking the most conservative/constitutional representatives we can. WE are bypassing the RNC and the DNC, thus castrating these organizations power. It’s our power not thiers. Does this help any?

  25. This would explain the push to get felons voting.
