MSNBC reporter Kelly O’Donnell, a white woman, asked Darryl Postell, a black tea party protester in Washington DC, “Have you ever been uncomfortable?”
Via Newsbusters:

From the transcript:

O’DONNELL, TO MAN: There aren’t a lot of African-American men at these events.

DARRYL POSTELL, LAUGHING: Right.

O’DONNELL: Have you ever felt uncomfortable?

POSTELL: No, no, these are my people, Americans.

O’DONNELL: A new CBS News/New York Times poll finds 18 percent of Americans say they support the movement. Within that group most are white men over 45, better educated and wealthier than the general public.

  1. The MSM and those who listen to their message are the ONLY people who see race.

  2. When can we be honest about where the racism is?

  3. “Your question makes me uncomfortable. Before you came along, I was just fine.”

  4. O’DONNELL: A new CBS News/New York Times poll finds 18 percent of Americans say they support the movement. Within that group most are white men over 45, better educated and wealthier than the general public. Yes, I am.
Also, We at our TEA PARTY in Atlanta had a former supporter of Obama, yes he voted for the NOTUS and he IS Black. HE see’s the con job the NOTUS pulled on him and America. He will not be voting Democrat this November nor will those in HIS sphere of influence. LOL ,Keep talking media it’s gonna get worse.
    powder is dry.

  5. Maybe o’donnell is projecting her own feeling of being uncomfortable because Taxed Enough Already patriots know she is pravda-esque in her reporting…

  6. I’m glad you snagged this for posterity; I heard it early today & then it slipped my mind. His response, “No, these are my people” is such a powerful, yet unintended (I feel certain) put down for the clueless O’Donnell.

  7. Can’t remember where I saw it, but recently there was a piece about the constitution of the Tea Party versus the general population, and the Tea Party was only about 4% “more white” than the overall population in the United States.

If the United States is 3/4 white, then it makes sense that most Tea Partiers are white. Using the “whiteness” of the Tea Party as a basis to accuse it of racism is ridiculous, because it is virtually a statistical sample of the general population.

The fact that 98% of blacks voted for Obama is the real story of racism, but the MSM won’t touch that.

  8. Good for him. We are all Americans. Barack Obama wants to enslave people to HIM!

  9. Americans….YEAH!!!

  10. “If the United States is 3/4 white, then it makes sense that most Tea Partiers are white. Using the “whiteness” of the Tea Party as a basis to accuse it of racism is ridiculous, because it is virtually a statistical sample of the general population.”

Blacks are only about 15% of the American population, but make up about 75% of prison populations. However, to use this as an argument of the tendency for blacks to commit crime is viewed as racist by many.

My point is that I guess it is ok to point out things like this if “WHITE PEOPLE” are in the equation.

  11. better educated and wealthier than the general public.

    ——————–

And, here, we’ve been told that is made up of nothing but poor, ignorant rednecks.

They just can’t seem to keep the narrative straight.

  12. Why did O’Donnell judge this man by the color of his skin?

  13. So, what percent of the NAACP is WHITE/CAUCASIAN? How about Jesse “Hijackson’s” “Rainbow-PUSH Coalition”?…How about the United NEGRO College Fund?…How about Al “Not-so-Sharpton’s” “National Action Network”….How about “La Raza”….Bloods and Crips,… MS-13,….need some more?

  14. Why did O’Donnell judge this man by the color of his skin?

    ———————-

Try as they might, they cannot discredit the movement.

And, it’s eating their hearts out.

  15. Wow! Kelly O’Donnell and several of her cohorts at MSNBC are truly racists. They look at every situation through their racist prisms. They think they are seeing things that just aren’t there. It is getting very tiresome.

  16. Wait a minute – that huge success 7-member Coffee party that was posted the other day – had 7 WHITE attendees…. hmmmm

  17. NAACP was created by WHITE PEOPLE!!!!
ten years later they turned over the control to the organization to black community. LOL yhea those evil white people. DUH I love my country AND the citizenry. Just speak english O.K.

  18. Militant Conservative # 17

    Is you powder dry? ;-)

  19. “Within that group most are white men over 45, better educated and wealthier than the general public.”

Damn! Weren’t they just telling us the Tea Partiers were a bunch of dumb hillbillies? And what’s this about all these educated, rich white men supporting Sarah Palin?

Somebody’s groping for an alternative narrative.

    How about this?

Why doesn’t somebody look at the number of people actively engaged in the economy — workers, businesspeople, savers, homeowners who are still paying their mortgages?

  20. Yup,#18
    Paperwork day at home.
Streaming RUSH, wearing my Glock 19 AND blogging.
    Gawd I love my JOB.

  21. Here is a good retort –

Hey reporter guy are you offended being a member of the Party of the Klan, aren’t you bothered by all the lynchings your party did to preserve their party power?

Reporter guy — Maybe you would like to see if Sen Byrd would like to comment, or apologize for filibustering the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Yes Byrd and Gore(pappy) did the filibuster.

  22. “I Nora, Big White Mother! I come to save you!”

  23. That guy should have laughed so hard when asked that stupid question and staggered away…

  24. Kelly O’Donnell, does it make you “uncomfortable” to realize that you were probably the only person at the Tea Party to notice a (gasp!) black man and think, “Wow, there’s somebody really strange and different here”?

  25. The success of the tea party movement is turning them all into Chris Matthews type wannabees without the “thrill running up their legs”.
That poor gal thought she was going to score a cheap journalistic pseudo-orgasm by forceing the guy to play the race card she was trying to give him. Then she attemted to play it herself and didn’t get off at all when he refused
    to allow it.
A liberal female journalist can be a dangerous creature, when scorned. If you doubt that just observe the screeching harpies’ reactions when someone refuses to take their bait, or go where they try to steer the interview.

  26. “Within that group most are white men over 45, better educated and wealthier than the general public.

    Emphasis by me.

Both, being better educated and wealthier are what? Results of working your butt off and being successful. But working your butt off and being successful is a bad thing, so the commies say.

Can we call these people commies yet or is this still not… whatever…

  27. ….hmmmm, “white men over 45, better educated and wealthier than the general public”…oh, like all the tax cheats working for the Obama Administration, all the male LIBERAL DEMOCRAT SENATORS, all the male LIBERAL DEMOCRAT CONGRESSMEN,….yeah, right.

  28. MC – I like how you sign off your posts with “powder is dry”

I’m thinking of using “Liberalism IS a mental disorder” – but would be plaigerizing Michael Savage. Although – I don’t think he’d mind.

On second thought – I think it should be “Liberalism is THE mental disorder”

  29. Maybe she should go interview some dirty, scroungy, White, ponytail thugs down in New Orleans…at night.

  30. Hmmmm – weren’t the Founding Fathers white men, better educated and wealthier than the general public?

  31. The Black Tea Partier might have asked Nora O’Donnell why she picked a white man to marry or ask her why no fat ugly white women get to carry the microphone and do these reports.

  32. O’Donnell, together with many others in the media and on the left, are stuck in another era. They still see everything in this country through a prism – literally. What they are astoundingly ignorant of, is the fact that the overwhelming majority of people in this country have long since moved on from race as an issue. It quite simply doesn’t matter to most people. The media elites and the left refuse to let go of it because they have derived much of their power and influence from it’s promulgation in past decades. Unbeknownst to them, the American people have largely already become post-racial, with or without Obama. Ironically, O’Donnell, with her obsession about skin color and it’s imagined implications, best represents the last vestiges of a society where the color of ones skin was more important than the content of their character. So – who’s the racist here?

  33. Hey Ms O’Donnell hear this: I am not a white male, I am not wealthy though I don’t benefit from welfare, and I am not a racist.
    Bite me.

  34. Wait a minute!

    That man does not exist!

  35. Militant Conservative, this one’s for you…and all the rest of us pro-Constitution patriots….this ought to give ‘em a “Rocky Mountain High”…..

Court tosses [University of Colorado] campus gun ban

  36. Last year Obama claimed he was not even aware of any Tea Party protesters.

This year Obama has resorted to calling Tea Party protesters stupid and uninformed.

Next year Obama will be screaming that they are racist, bigotted, homophobes!

The following year Obama will say nothing. Not one single word. Like Jimmy Carter, he will slip into hiding for a few decades.

  37. Gus #32 – excellent questions!

I had a couple of others he could have asked:

    “Your name is O’Donnell, right?”
    “Are you drunk?”
“Is your husband a drunk Catholic who beats you every night?”

See how she likes being stereo-typed.

  38. O’Donnell and most of the GE/MSNBC/NBC/CNBC crew are racists disguising themselves as ‘enlightened progressives’. Who else would try to provoke a black man to reinforce their own attitudes towards Tea Partiers? Who else always brings up race in any story which a minority is involved?

  39. Remember how during Black History Month the MSM was all up in arms about the menu in the Congressional Cafeteria?

They said it was racist – never mind that the menu was developed by an AMERICAN woman who happened to be black.

  40. …..Question 1 from the “new CBS News/New York Times poll”:

    1. You don’t support those teabagging, racist, homophobe, jew-hating, …….. do you?

  41. Opaobie #42 – ROFL!!!

Good link, bet you did’nt know the gun free zone crap at universities applies to the staff/faculty and students. Not the visiters though. Guess that sisn’t work out too well in Alabama,Virginia etc……

  43. I see it a little differently. Kelly O. is merely — mindlessly — doing the bidding of her bosses. Without a trace of journalistic discomfort.

They’re in the business of propagating lies.

Here, it’s that Tea Partiers are racist and potentially violent. They push whatever might work to discredit a movement that will clearly destroy the Left’s agenda.

She takes her orders, obviously, without any thought whatsoever. She’s a pathetic product of the Left.

  44. MC…I didn’t know that. How many homicidal killers worry about getting arrested for illegal possession of a firearm as they are mowing down kids in “Gun-free KILL Zones”?

  45. I ♥ u, Mr. O’Donnell, my brother from another mother.

  46. I mean, Mr. Postell, LOL. I need more caffeine.

  47. That takes the cake.

A white news anchor telling a minority they should feel uncomfortable, and then taking it a step farther and implying he doesn’t belong to that demographic which would describe him as educated and well off because he’s Black…and because she just approach him for the single reason of objectifying him for it. Gross.

  48. There are many black racists who make other blacks’ lives miserable if they participate or support the Tea Party movement, because they believe that if you are black, you can’t have your own opinion and mind and must support the Half-White/Half-Black President or they are being disloyal to their black heritage. Now that is racist. Blacks were once slaves to the white man in America; they don’t need to be slaves to other blacks in this day and age.

Hey, no one has a lock on any saying.
Powder is dry implies armed and ready condition.
I hope DARRYL POSTELL see’s all these post and knows the conservatives are outraged at the media behavior and racist behavior. Keep the faith Darryl we are proud of you. You are my American brother damn right.

  50. The lame stream media looks for racial overtones in everything. If they can’t find something racial they manufacture it.

  51. What a lot of middle class working Americans of ALL colors realize is that the amount of debt that this regime is racking up will necessitate in their minds is tax increases on ALL working people.

There are two eras, President Kennedy’s and President Reagan’s that prove the way to prosperity is cutting taxes and reducing the stranglehold of Federal Regulation. These solutions are both ideas that are foreign to Liberal Democrats.

They believe that greed and ego are such powerful motivators that no matter how much you tax rich people’s income they will still work as hard. That is a very ignorant and dangerous theory. The largest amount of money is in the middle class.

This is the Jimmy Carter era on steroids!

  52. MSNBC / NBC are owned partly/wholly by General Electric. What would Thos. Edison think of that?

Is it time to boycott GE ??

  53. It’s all about the color green, baby.
That’s the color of our money that they are spending.
    Every other color is incidental.

  54. This man is my hero. ‘”These are my people… Americans.”

Hey Kelly – if you’re looking for evidence of racism, look in the mirror.

  55. Thank you, Mr. Postell.
I look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with you some day.

    LiberalsPlotToMakeAmericaWeak&Poor
    Funny you should mention GE…
    ge pays no taxes

  56. If she didn’t promote the “racist” theme, she would lose her job.

  57. No one could have given a better answer, I’m surprised nbc would even show this

  58. God bless, Darryl Postell! We are all Americans, one people.
