It’s the Economy Stupid…

The number of initial jobless claims rose “unexpectedly” again this week.
The AP reported, via Drudge:
The number of newly laid-off workers seeking unemployment benefits rose last week, a sign that jobs remain scarce even as the economy recovers.
The Labor Department said Thursday that first-time claims increased by 18,000 in the week ending April 3, to a seasonally adjusted 460,000. That’s worse than economists’ estimates of a drop to 435,000, according to a survey by Thomson Reuters.
The report covers the week that includes the Easter holiday, and a Labor Department analyst said seasonal adjustment for Easter can be difficult since the holiday occurs in different weeks each year.

Nahh,
Congress is considering extending unemployment benefits, and so the longer-term unemployed filed a few more applications.

This is a great time to institute the VAT tax. Taxing people another 20% when so many are out of work will turn the tide you betcha. The Dem Party should change its name to The Destruction Party and have a bulldozer as their logo.

Contortionists extraordinaire…
When an economy loses 8 million jobs one year – then in the first quarter of the next year “only” loses 460,000 – they report this as a recovering economy. Simply because the number of new jobless are lower…
Wait – it couldn’t be that there are fewer WORKING people that can actually be fired, could it?
That would only be the case if a Republican was POTUS.
olm commented:
At some point there won’t be any workers left to lose their jobs.
Man! Then the economy will really be recovering.

funny thing about that habitual use of “unexpectedly” confirms that the libs dont know what they are doing or talking about cus if they did, it would be… if something happens that you didnt think would happen, thats unexpectedly…. which means you were WRONG!!! Which confirms that what you are doing is the wrong thing… again, too stupid to know they’re stupid.

I want to know where the MSM is reporting on all those homeless people living in tents, sleeping under bridges, in their cars?
Remember when unemployment was 5%? We had wall to wall coverage of homeless, hungry children.
Did all of these people suddenly find homes, food, jobs?

Heard this live via the “Ditto cam” yesterday. THIS is what is going to come for the Democrat party. Millions of sleeping patriots that love thier country. I have been the “go to” guy for decades in my company. Tell how ong people were asleep? Now they can’t believe what is happening and with such speed. Remember the analogy of the frog in warm water. Would you guys give this up? The party of the rich doesn’t follow economics or trade the market?
It’s a v-shaped recovery and we’re sharply accelerating out of the malaise. We put our money on tying zero to the economy and we’re going to look like fools.
Don’t bet against the American economy, ever. All recessions end within 30 months unless there is egregious policy put into place. Zero hasn’t gotten anything done so he will not be able to tank us into a double dip.
You think it’s better to be lucky than good? Zero had bailouts in place and a bank crises he is responsible for as much as any human on earth, and all he’ll ever get is credit for fixing the “worst” economy since the depression. Reagan’s was far worse with high inflation and unemployment, and he actually changed the course of the economy, but zero has fallen into a situation where he will claim all the glory and have done little. A lot of the recession was behind us by the time he took office (time wise).
I’m just saying we need to prepare for the reality of what is happening.

Joblessness: The Kids Are Not Alright
[Unemployment today doesn't look like any unemployment in the recent American experience. We have the astonishing and dispiriting new reality that the "long-term jobless"—people out of work more than six months (27 weeks)—was about 44% of all people unemployed in February. A year ago that number was 24.6%.
This is not normal joblessness. As The Wall Street Journal reported in January, even when the recovery comes, some jobs will never return.
But the aspect of this mess I find more disturbing is the numbers around what economists call "youth unemployment." The U.S. unemployment rate for workers under 25 years old is about 20%.
"Youth unemployment" isn't just a descriptor used by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It's virtually an entire field of study in the economics profession. That's because in Europe, "youth unemployment" has become part of the permanent landscape, something that somehow never goes away.]
Is the U.S. there yet?

War on internships
[It is just a bit strange that companies would be, on the one hand, attacked for not providing enough in wages and, on the other, required to not provide any wages. Again, this only makes sense in light of the interests of labor unions to restrict the supply of labor. In other words, all of these rules seem to be constructed to prohibit internships altogether.
So are most existing internships technically illegal? They very well could be.
Who loses if this crackdown succeeds? The same groups that are winning under the present increase in internships: young people and their employers and would-be employers. There can be no other way that this plays itself out. This is the state mowing down the grass that is growing in the cracks of its sidewalks and then spraying Roundup to prevent any more from growing.
It's a heck of a time to be doing this too: just as young people are having more trouble than ever in getting a foothold in the workplace.]

Arguably, the most damaging charge of them all. New Labour’s election manifestos made little or no mention of immigration policy.
But according to a draft report by the Cabinet Office, written in 2000, ministers had a secret plan to ‘maximise the contribution’ of migrants to the Government’s ’social objectives’. http://bunkerville.wordpress.com/2010/04/08/british-jobs-all-since-1997-have-gone-to-a-foreigner/

LOL Loved how when it was reported that something to the tune of 160,000 jobs were created in March, apparently the largest growth in 3 years, the liberal media fawned over the news. There was a huge banner on HuffPo. The banner was taken down when about the news came that tens of thousands of jobs were unexpectedly lost in March. Now this, in April. Oops. Sorry HuffPo, YOUR “economics” (read: ideology) has failed once again.

after all the research i’ve done for the past several years, the one rock solid conclusion i can come to is that Obama was Selected to transition
US into the new world order.. a world order that is not only based on Communism per se, but Islamism.. Marxism & Islamism are joined at the hip so to speak, Communism or Marxism, Stalinism, Leninism, Maoism, etc.. are forms of Utopianism by any other name.. and we are all swiftly approaching the era of Obamanism aka: IslaMarxism with Obama aka: ONE KAMPF aka: Modern Islamo Nazism..
