At his nuclear conference last week Barack Obama broke the sad truth to Americans,

Whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower.”

And, he’s supposed to be the leader?
Via Freedom’s Lighthouse:

He really believes America is the problem not the solution.

Whether he liked it or not, this provoked Sarah Palin to pen her latest blog post on his radicalism. The former Alaskan governor nailed President Obama on his open regret for American exceptionalism.
From her Facebook Page:

Asked this week about his faltering efforts to advance the Middle East peace process, President Obama did something remarkable. In front of some 47 foreign leaders and hundreds of reporters from all over the world, President Obama said that “whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower.”

Whether we like it or not? Most Americans do like it. America’s military may be one of the greatest forces for good the world has ever seen, liberating countless millions from tyranny, slavery, and oppression over the last 234 years. As a dominant superpower, the United States has won wars hot and cold; our military has advanced the cause of freedom in Iraq and Afghanistan and kept authoritarian powers like Russia and China in check.

It is in America’s and the world’s interests for our country to remain a dominant military superpower, but under our great country’s new leadership that dominance seems to be slipping away. President Obama has ended production of the F-22, the most advanced fighter jet this country has ever built. He’s gutted our missile defense program by eliminating shield resources in strategic places including Alaska. And he’s ended the program to build a new generation of nuclear weapons that would have ensured the reliability of our nuclear deterrent well into the future. All this is in the context of the country’s unsustainable debt that could further limit defense spending. As one defense expert recently explained:

The president is looking to eliminate the last vestiges of the Reagan-era buildup. Once the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are “ended” (not “won”), the arms control treaties signed, and defense budgets held at historic lows while social entitlements and debt service rise to near-European levels, the era of American superpower will have passed.

The truth is this: by his actions we see a president who seems to be much more comfortable with an American military that isn’t quite so dominant and who feels the need to apologize for America when he travels overseas.

  1. Whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower.” — I guess this will be his defining [dis]loyaty statement. WoW!

  2. What will he eliminate next….?
    Aircraft carriers ?

  3. What you people don’t grasp is the huge responsibility that comes with this power. You support it’s disastrous use in indiscriminate ways (Iraq). Palin is a giant fool who doesn’t know security issues from shinola, but not surprising a hack like Hoft would quote her.

  4. Jo, Jo, Jo.. you know ya like B.O., come on now!

    “Palin is a giant ?”

Is she as big as the Golly Green Giant? Are all wacky liberals delusional?

  9. Yo, ONEWITHOUTBRAINS—the only thing you’re good for is a laugh.

  10. If you are just a little fellow, big responsibilities are a bit above your pay grade, as the one once said.

America has never had a President as flawed as this one.

    Pray for us all.

  11. She nailed his nads….but then again, when has she not nailed his nads?

If Palin’s a GIANT (per the liberal hack above, the one who thinks he has a brain). then Obama’s the world’s smallest midget.

  12. The sentence in which the statement appears is badly constructed. The ‘whether we like it or not’ pertains more to the being drawn into conflicts part. However, Obama the Genius, who seems never to previews his speeches before he reads them and is most likely in agreement with the sentiment, read the thing unchanged.

Either he can’t write well enough to edit his underlings (Dubya edited his speeches), or he doesn’t care or didn’t know what was in the speech before he telepromptered it, or he agrees with it entirely.

Whatever, an audience of world leaders apparently heard Obama declare that he and his administration don’t like it that America’s a superpower. The bad guys out there also heard it.

Domestically, those who understood it, like Palin, will use the mangled syntax against him, and rightly so as a corrective to remind of the danger that Obama’s careless words might bring to America.

Internationally, bad actors who understood what Obama said will hold on to the unintended sense and seek to act against us.

In the meantime, Gov. Palin continues her campaign for the 2012 POTUS, and rightly so. Her strategy is an admirable one: death by a thousand cuts. In every encounter, she makes Obama bleed a little more; all he can do is flail and put on a bandage. Come 2012, Palin will put us out of our Obama-created misery and deliver the final coup de grace.

  13. This is what happens when a foreign born Muslim with dual citizenship is elected to lead the most powerful military and economy in the world. Obama parties in the Whitehouse, while putting the screws to America. Unbelievable.

  14. “A President who seems to be…”
    “Who feels the need….”

Get with it, kids. He’s not clumsy, he’s just not very bright. And his owners like that.

I meant to say, … beware if you ever try to get your hands on her. You might be very surprised.

  18. Just trying to get this out. Something weird on the Kenya’s Parliament website. A speech actually seems to infer that President Obama was born there.

  19. @bg,

Thanks, I hadn’t seen those. To see it affirmed again just last month is unbelievable.

  20. @bg,

The unique thing about this was that the speech was on the website and within minutes of opening the pdf file it was gone. They knew they messed up big time, and now it is out.

    you’re welcome..

whether or not he was literally born in Kenya, as far as they are concerned, he is his fathers son, ergo, a native son of Kenya (ironic truth is, whether or not Obama likes it, he is considered by most Muslims to be a Muslim.. of which he has not only all but confirmed he is, but has demonstrably made
it audaciously clear that he’s not a Christian..

    ==

  22. We would have already Forced Obama one way or the other on his place of birth, except for those phonies in our camp that for some reason are sweeping this under the rug. They even come up with words like “birthers” to rail against those that JUST WANT TO KNOW. They try to make us ashamed that we have the nerve to want answers, after all who are we to question. They also say that it’s divisive, my G-D and Obama ain’t. Why those supposedly on our side take to these tactics is a mystery that needs unfolding.

The constitution can be ignored, and for what reason, and for who. We are in our last days unless we fight with everything we have. One day we will find out what it was that made our people so skittish about this pretender, and we aren’t going ti like it.

    re: bg #24

    meant to add..

funny how he fought the smear & made it perfectly clear to both Kenyans & Americans that he is not the ’son of Kenyan soil’, not a Muslim huh.. /sarc/

THE MOST TRANSPARENT PRESIDENT IN US HISTORY..

oh my yes, yes he is!!

    ==

  24. Where in the constitution does it say that we must not vet those that run for office. GWB released all his papers, health, schooling, national guard, etc. The first President to not fully release his full transcripts was WJC, and now OBama has perfected the art of secrecy. They both had something to hide, and the MSM gave them a pass, pass hell they actually killed stories that would cause the least trouble for “THEIR” candidate. When the truth comes out, and it will eventually, some need to be tried for treason.

  25. Nothing gets me madder than to know someone is lying to me, and he knows I know, and yet he continues on. Then of course we have those who will not stand up for the truth on our side.

can’t help but wonder how infiltrated the Islamists really are, or how
many politicians they have in their back pocket, not to mention had..

  27. Military = bad

    I get it.

Obama is either naive or stupid. Or both.

  28. I wonder what Obama’s stance is on this:

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khomeini’s Religious Teachings on Marriage, Divorce and Relationships Parvin Darabi, USA-based Dr. Homa Darabi Foundation website, Jun 10, 2006:

“A man can marry a girl younger than nine years of age, even if the girl is still a baby being breastfed. A man, however is prohibited from having intercourse with a girl younger than nine, other sexual act such as forplay, rubbing, kissing and sodomy is allowed. A man having intercourse with a girl younger than nine years of age has not comitted a crime, but only an infraction, if the girl is not permanently damaged. If the girl, however, is permanently damaged, the man must provide for her all her life. But this girl will not count as one of the man’s four permanent wives. He also is not permitted to marry the girl’s sister.”

  29. It’s clear from previous posts on this blog, that adherence to accuracy is not your forte. However, when taking a quote out-of-context, at least try to quote the whole sentence.

It is a vital national security interest of the United States to reduce these conflicts because whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower, and when conflicts break out, one way or another we get pulled into them,” Obama said. “And that ends up costing us significantly in terms of both blood and treasure.

  30. @Zachriel,

And President Obama clearly has contempt about this being the case. He does not like that this is so and he is seeking to change it.

  31. The liberals remain scared to death of Palin. She connects with normal people in a way only a few politicians ever have. If she gets the white women to vote for her, Dems are toast.

  32. @Zachriel

What Obama and you don’t understand: who else is supposed to do it?

    The UN? The EU?

I agree with one thing. The US should sit back when the next conflicts come. Leave them solely to the UN and let the UN mess them up, as usual.

No American life is worth to be wasted over some local conflict in Africa. For example.

Oh wait, the UN will drag the US in anyway. Whoops!

People always complain about the US playing world police. Obama seems to be one of them as well (surprise? nope.)

But really, who else should do it? The biased UN which actively caters to fascists and, like the UNRWA (see here: http://europenews.dk/en/node/30863 ), has actively supported them?

The US is the dominant military power. Yes. And that is a good thing.

Or would you rather have China there?

If so, prepare to learn Chinese.

  33. @ APODICA

:Either he can’t write well enough to edit his underlings (Dubya edited his speeches), or he doesn’t care or didn’t know what was in the speech before he telepromptered it, or he agrees with it entirely.”

He can’t write, months ago they let slip a speech he wrote, to say it was written by a illiterate would be doing an injustice to illiterates all over.

He has to struggle to put a thought or even a sentence together. He would make a perfect third world president. Illiterate, Incompetent and Ignorant.

  34. I don’t care if Obama was born in the sewers of New York City with the American Alligators. I don’t like either. I know girls that can throw a baseball better than he can. He obviously never read the Ten Commandments either, because knows them not. He claims to be God. He honors neither his parents nor his grandparents. Bear false witness whenever he can, and steals the future from everyone in this country. A thief is just a thief.

  35. One with a brain #3
“what you people don’t grasp is the huge responsibility that comes with this this power”

What you don’t seem to grasp is the huge responsibility that come from failing to use that power when necessary. This is the real world we’re talking about here, not Mr. Rogers neighborhood. Have no doubt that someone in the pentagon right now is reviewing op plans on how to reestablish command structure AFTER Washington D.C. is a smoking radioactive ruin. They don’t have time for your childish moralizing .
As for Sarah Palin: she was, as governor, the commander in chief of the Alaska National Guard. How much military and policy experience do you have?

  36. Andreas K: I agree with one thing. The US should sit back when the next conflicts come. Leave them solely to the UN and let the UN mess them up, as usual.

Now you got it! Whether you like it or not, the U.S. is often dragged into conflicts around the world.

  37. “Whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower.”

He didn’t say that. Sarah Palin said he did. But why bother correcting the OP when there is Kenyan birth to be discussed?

    Political discussion of great import.
