President Obama said the tough new Arizona immigration bill that requires police to question people about their immigration status is “misguided” and may violate a person’s civil rights(?)
Obama started campaigning for his amnesty plan today.
The Associated Press reported:
President Barack Obama criticized Arizona’s tough immigration bill as irresponsible Friday and said his administration is examining whether it would violate civil rights.
Obama said the federal government must act responsibly to reform national immigration law — or “open the door to irresponsibility by others.”
“That includes, for example, the recent efforts in Arizona, which threaten to undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans, as well as the trust between police and their communities that is so crucial to keeping us safe,” Obama said.
If signed into law by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, the legislation would require police to question people about their immigration status if there’s reason to suspect they’re in the country illegally. Civil rights activists say such a law would lead to racial profiling and deter Hispanics from reporting crimes.
Obama instructed the Justice Department to examine the bill to see if it would violate civil rights.
As Rush Limbaugh wrote today in the Wall Street Journal: “Had President Obama campaigned on this agenda, he wouldn’t have garnered 30% of the popular vote.”
Obama’s reaction to the Arizona immigration bill is just further proof of this.

We must not let them define the narative. Rather than “racial profiling” this should be referred to as “citizen profiling”. There should be no problem with someone having to show they are here as a result of legal means. People often have to prove they are allowed to be in a gated community, a sporting event, or any number of similar places. This is no different. It is for the public good.

I live in Southern Arizona. People this is about money. This is not about racism. We cannot afford to massage the law anymore whether for good or bad!
Some points for good measure:
• Napolitano began this process when she was Governor: she signed a bill that made it a crime for a business to hire an illegal. If caught the business would lose its license for 10 days – on the first offence!
• A friend told me that 50% of the HS teachers are being cut due to budgetary constraints in her daughter’s school in suburban Tucson. The same is true of other school districts here.
• The state government has cut the indigenous health care system because of lack of funds.
• I work 50 miles north of the Mexican border where there is terrible violence with scores of people dead in the shoot outs between the drug cartels! This is serious s**t people!
• There are layers of law enforcement here – including the ever present border patrol and I know of Hispanics being profiled by that federal body more so than by the local police.

This administration does not want to enforce immigration laws and has quietly eased up substantially from the already lax Bush level of enforcement. Obama is far more concerned about a few Jewish homes in Jerusalem than he is about violent drug gangs coming to America.

Before that SPAIN “owned” it until Mexico won its’ independence from Spain in 1821.

I wonder what would happen if American citizens by the droves would illegally go to Mexico and just decided to stay? I know for a fat that someone from another country who entered Mexico illegally was put in jail.
Some protesters were saying that they had to change by voting in the elections. Well, if they can vote then that means that they are American citizens and therefore should not be troubled when asked for proof of residency or citizenship. I am an American citizen and married a man with a hispanic last name, when I had to renew my driver’s license they asked for proof of residency. I did not get upset, just took my voter’s registration and no big deal.
I think that in Florida someone sued because they were asked for proof of residency and when they filed the lawsuit as Jane and John Doe, it was thrown out in court which goes to show that they were here illegally.

Then, they’ll look up the three or four lefturded Arizonians who don’t want the bill and interview them incessantly.
