Police Release Description of Allee Bautsch Attacker; Video Shows Republicans Threatened Outside Brennan's

NOLA Police released a statement on Tuesday on the Allee Bautsch-Joe Brown beatings.

Hmm… Could the attackers possibly be leftists?
Allee Bautsch and her boyfriend Joe Brown were beaten in the streets of New Orleans after leaving the Southern Republican Leadership Conference dinner at Brennan’s Restaurant.

The local police are looking for two dirty white males. One of the males has a ponytail.
Superintendent Warren J. Riley and members of the New Orleans Police are asking the public’s assistance in locating and identifying several suspects wanted in connection with an incident that occurred in the 600 block of Saint Louis Street . The incident occurred Friday April 9, 2010, at approximately 10:45 P.M.
According to investigators, the victims were walking from a function at a restaurant in the 400 block of Royal Street . When they entered the 600 block of Saint Louis Street , three to five Caucasian males made derogatory comments to the 25-year-old female and her 28-year-old male friend. When the male victim turned towards the group of men, one or more of the suspects struck the victim several times. At some point the female victim fell to the ground and screamed. The suspects then fled on foot. Officers in the area heard the female screaming and responded to the scene and broadcasted a description of the suspects and requested Emergency Medical Paramedics. As the female was waiting for EMS , she used her purse as a pillow. When the victim was in the ambulance, she discovered her purse was missing.
The female was transported to a hospital where she was treated for a broken leg. The male victim was also transported to the hospital and was treated for a mild concussion, fractured jaw and nose.
One of the suspects was described as a Caucasian male who appeared to be dirty, in his 20’s, 6′1″ tall, thin build with a thin face. He had a beard and auburn color hair in a pony tail. He was wearing a light color T shirt and dark color pants.
The incident is on-going and detectives are in the process of determining if any surveillance cameras captured the incident.
Investigators are currently working on the incident and at this time the report is not available. Notification will be made to the media when the report is complete and ready for dissemination.
Investigators are in the process of identifying the suspects, as well as a motive. Eighth District Detective Sergeant Nicholas Gernon is in charge of the investigation. Citizens with information that can help solve this crime are asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111, toll-free 1-877-903-STOP(7867). You could receive a cash reward of up to $2,500.00 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the responsible person(s). You do not have to give your name nor testify to receive the reward.

Earlier on Friday night there was a protest of leftists and anarchists outside of Brennan’s Restaurant. One eye witness described the scene this way:
I am the photographer for the LA GOP and I was at the Brennan fundraiser. When I left about one hour or so after all 3 of the governors left the crowd of protesters had grown. The were very nasty, signs were vulgar using the “F” word. As I left the restaurant I was yelled at – there was a family visiting the restaurant with a baby stroller – they had nothing to do with the fundraiser and they were being heckled using the “F” and “MF” words.. A couple of them made comments to me.

The attackers could very well have been protesting outside the event earlier that night. In fact there are several protesters outside of Brennan’s who fit that description.

I want to be sure that conservatives, unlike progressives don’t make a leap on the facts. The original posting of this story stated that they were attacked because they were wearing “Palin” buttons. Has anyone read any further details from the victims that led them to believe the attack was politically-based? These could be some dirtbag muggers breaking the law, but it’s important that it is made clear what the true intentions behind the attack were. Our facts must be credible.

Let’s run through the facts here and apply some common sense.
Local N.O. criminals, and the more nasty Katrina returnees, are part of the “Chocolate City.”
In so many words, there are not a whole lot of criminal N.O. black men wearing auburn colored pony tails.
Having been to the place and seen it both pre and post Katrina, the French Quarter is lousy with hotel and bar security cameras. Local criminals, particularly the violent ones, are known by the bouncers, local security staff and beat cops on sight. They are bad for business.
The NOPD report makes clear the Perps were a group of 3-to-5 whites in the N.O. French Quarter. Whites who trailed as a group, confronted, and beat down Bautsch and Brown.
Local “thrill beaters” — groups of men who beat up on others for the thrill of it and not for money — would be know to the French Quarter security and law men and would be on “the list of usual suspects.” A list that would have been used by now given who was beaten.
There have been no arrests since the story surfaced on the Right Wing blogs.
The group of Perps who did the beating look a whole lot like the anarchist protesters in the photos and videos of the Republican fund raiser, right down to the hair, dirt and smell.
The M.O. of “Thrill beatings” doesn’t lead to compound leg fractures (See the broken leg requiring surgery) of the female half of an assaulted couple.
The usual injury’s are head wounds to the male half of an assaulted couple with the woman being pushed out of the way. The “Thrill” in this case is showing power by physically humiliating a guy with his girl and getting away with it.
We did not see that here. The perps either used a blunt instrument or more likely a boots to stomp on the five foot nothing tall Allee Bautsch while she was on the ground.
Note as well that the NOPD reports that Bautsch used her purse as a pillow after the attack, AKA the attackers were not criminal muggers. She had her purse stolen after the attack while being treated by EMS.
So the perps were not locals, not muggers, they followed the victims from a Republican event with anarchist protesters present, and brutally assaulted the Female aide to Gov Jindal more than they did her boy friend.
If the attackers are not local NO or Katrina returnee criminals, and Occums Razor does not slice for a thrill seeker beating based on the compound fracture, all that is left is a targeted political beating.
Gov Jindal and the local powers that be are trying very hard to drop the cone of silence on this for fear of the effects of this on the N.O. tourist trade and specifically the 2012 N.O. bid for the Republican national convention.
If Jindal cannot protect his own aide from anarchists, how can he protect his RNC convention goers?
A very important line for the Right was crossed here. The Left is going after the Right’s women.
And the Right’s elected leadership is trying to cover it up, rather than catch and punish the perps.
That is a very bad play for a number of reasons.

There is absolutely no hard evidence whatsoever to link this crime to the victim’s Palin pins, in fact it’s now being reported that they weren’t even wearing Palin pins. Jim Hoft has been at the forefront of the justified condemnations of unsubstantiated accusations of racism at Tea Party rallies. He’s rightly mocked liberals for claiming, without evidence, that “this is the sort of thing that Tea Partiers would do, even if I didn’t hear it.” Yet here he is doing the same thing. And if I were one of the lefty protesters whose pictures he’s posted here, I would seriously think about suing for defamation of character. This post is the blogging equivalent of a backwater sheriff chasing down longhairs for the crime of looking suspicious. There’s a reason why other large blogs are holding back on this story. HA and Malkin etc are right when they point out that there’s nothing even remotely resembling hard evidence. Hoft should really follow their example. If any evidence emerges, go for it with guns blazing. For now, please hold your fire if anything, to avoid ridicule.

To me, at first blush, it seems one or more of these men said something of a sexual nature to Alex Bautsch and Joe Brown, being the stand up guy he is turned around and said something in her defense. Also, I lived in Uptown while in Law School at Tulane, and never, ever went to the French Quarter without being armed. I’ve had the same sort of experience there before – being aggressively aproached by a group of dirty lefty-looking types while escorting a lovely, but on two occassions of need I found the 2nd Amendment is our best defense. It’s funny how a fully load 40cal Glock in the face can stop a 5 on 1 fight.
