Photo Shows Horrified GOP Official After Savage Beating in New Orleans

On Friday April 9, 2010, GOP official Allee Bautsch and her boyfriend Joe Brown attended a Republican dinner at Brennan’s restaurant in New Orleans. When they left this event the young Republicans were followed from the restaurant by a group of five white men who hurled insults at them calling Allee a “little blond bitch” and calling Joe a “f**king f*ggot.” They savagely beat and stomped on the young Republican couple just blocks from the restaurant.

Allee Bautsch suffered a broken leg from the beatdown outside to the SRLC dinner at Brennan’s Restaurant in New Orleans. She had her leg operated on over the weekend and it will take her months to recover. Her boyfriend Joe Brown suffered a broken nose, a broken jaw, and a concussion. They were attacked after leaving the Southern Republican Leadership Conference dinner at Brennan’s Restaurant.

Today Gov. Bobby Jindal told reporters he wasn’t going to comment further on the investigation that left his chief fundraiser and her boyfriend injured. If Jindal wanted to improve his national profile he would hold a press conference and ask the public for their assistance to help solve this crime. But, so far he has remained mostly silent after his chief fundraiser was brutally beaten in the streets. He should rethink this.
The Bayou Buzz also wonders where all of the civil rights groups are after this obvious political attack on two young conservatives.
Sadly, Governor Jindal has been quiet about this attack, possibly worried about the fallout from more negative publicity about the crime rate in New Orleans. Despite his concerns, the Governor needs to speak out on this issue and emphasize that the crime should be solved and that the attackers should be immediately brought to justice.
With two young conservatives beaten because of their political beliefs, it seems clear that a hate crime occurred. Not surprisingly, there has been no word from civil rights leaders who are always so worried about hate crimes and no investigation from the city’s Human Rights Commission. In fact, this crime is so vicious and is apparently so political in nature that the Justice Department should be contacted. Where are all of the groups like the ACLU that constantly proclaim discrimination against minorities? In New Orleans, conservatives are a pretty distinct minority, but, sadly, it seems this is the only group that is not protected.

If this were a Democrat Governor,Obama would have the FBI,CIA and Janet Napolitano in New Orleans turning over every pebble and shaking the bushs for these hitmen.
The MSM and the print media would be pointing fingers at talk radio hosts and Tea Party members.
I believe those hitmen are long gone.I’m sure they were brought in from out of town and Jindal is a worthless POS for not standing up for his staff and for NOT being outraged about this.
Why has he not said he would put the L.A. Highway Patrol and the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation on this?

Makes one wonder what the thugs would have to have done to MAKE it a story at the other major conservative sites. Beat the couple with Obama/Biden lawn signs? Beat the couple and break their bones while yelling, on camera, with HD video and 192k audio, “We’re Democrats, we’re doing this because you’re not Democrats! Someone go get a Notary Public so we can sign statements to that effect while we continue breaking these Non-Democrats’ bones!”

What stands out most is the fact that it was not initially logged as an assault by NOPD, just a “medical emergency”. The initial responders must have realized what they had on their hands, yet it wasn’t until after all the publicity did the NOPD even make a few damage control statements. I also have to criticize Jindal. This was one of his direct employees, not some volunteer out in the boonies. Loyalty goes both ways.

DON’T DO THIS, but if you really wanted to take the “irresistible target” idea a step further, have a motion sensor/pressure sensor attached to a sprayer filled with a dye that would spray the assailant ONLY if it detected motion AND an assault on the car. The big question to me is why hasn’t incoming mayor Mitch Landrieu spoken out against the beating? Wouldn’t you be concerned that potential tourists and convention planners would think the Quarter is not safe if they think this was some random incident? Any citizen who chooses not to carry a firearm for self-defense (in a state where carry is not criminalized) is an IDIOT.
Please do not misunderstand — I feel for this young woman, I really do. This was savage, uncalled for, and unexpected: just like any criminal attack (politically-motivated or otherwise). Perhaps now she has learned a very important lesson and will exercise her God-given, human right to self-defense.

At least one post-beat-down photo is out there, I’ve seen it. I am very curious about Jindal’s silence. There are a lot of variables: investigation ongoing; tourism; desires of the victims; and all the ones I can’t think of right now. I’m willing to let this play out before calling Gov. any names.
