Obama Sniper Teams Ordered to Rooftops To Quash Radical Tea Party Protest (Video)

UNBELIEVABLE!
Earlier today Team Obama called in the riot squad to deal with the Quincy Tea Party patriots outside the the Oakley-Lindsey/Quincy Community Center.
Team Obama ordered the riot police to march in and contain the violent tea party protesters.
They didn’t want any violence from these mobsters and radicals.
The police were in full riot gear when they marched in to deal with the protesters.
But, that’s not all.
They also called the riot police to the rooftops to quash the tea party mob.

They were packing heat, just in case the grandmothers started throwing bingo chips at the building.

Surveying the crowd from rooftops is standard protocol for security purposes. There are no sniper rifles in view in these photos. The only thing being aimed are a pair of binoculars. But the SWAT team is a tad over the top, unless there were significant threats made against Obama or the crowd.

Quincy Police Chief Rob Copley confirmed that Secret Service agents met with local law enforcement Thursday. Copley declined to discuss specifics but said the Quincy Police Department, the Adams County Sheriff’s Department and the Illinois State Police will help provide security.

Those men on the roof are just cops doing their job. They always climb up on high places during a visit by a dignitary.
The president is expected to pass through Hannibal, but currently has no plans to stop in Mark Twain’s hometown, a site that has drawn tourists from around the world.
“From the information that we have, there is no scheduled stop in Hannibal,” Police Chief Lyndell Davis said. “However, that schedule is always subject to change.”
Davis met with the Secret Service last week and learned that his department’s role would be to provide security Wednesday as the president travels through the area to Macon, Mo.
“A lot of it is just to secure the route and dignitary protection,” Davis said, declining to be any more specific. “It requires a lot of staffing.”

Overreaction is not going to get us anywhere. This is typical protocol for LE when the POTUS is in town.
Gerald Ford was in St Louis for a rally and can tell you that the Secret Service identified from roof top of KMOX building a individual who was on thier list. Nothing came about and was released to listen to the presentation.
We need to be realistic in our criticism of security. I do not agree with Barry O but do respect the security around him that was afforded pervious POTUS.
For those who do not understand security, I had a SS clearance. We did a balloon release at the event and I had 3 empty helium tanks in my car. Well that did not bode well with SS and they had me move my car 8 blocks away yet an hour and half later I standing in line to greet Gerald Ford.
I was a campaign aide for Jerry Litton during his Senatorial Primary run, I wore a campaign button from the Ford/ Dole campaign the whole election process as a memorial to Jerry and his family.
I had the privledge of driving Pete Fountain from airport to rally and back, there was a high dollar meet and greet at the airport and Mr. Fountain made sure I got in. When President Ford greeted us he sat me down and talked to me about Jerry Litton. He signed my campaign button then he gave me the Presidential Pen that he used to do it. What is super special is David Kennerly took a photograph and the White House sent me a copy and thank you letter.
The security that is being criticized is normal security for the POTUS, it has been extended to previous POTUS and not something new. There are far more other issues we can attack than a sniper of the rooftop.

Snipers are usually present whenever the President goes wandering about outside of the Limo. GWB, and Clinton came to places I was working at and there were teams on rooftops for both of those.
What is unusual here is the teams here are showing themselves.
Either they were ordered to be visible for intimidation, or they(the team members) really feel the TEA Party folks are not much of a threat.

You can’t blame the officers. They get orders, they do them.
My father once told me, back when the people blocked the Hainburger Au and prevented a new power station there (must have been in the 80s), that while he sympathized with them, he would still have to follow orders and remove them from the premises. He was 40 years on the force and retired last year.
The only ones to blame are those who give the orders.
Spotters on rooftops are standard today. Sometimes even with cameras. Even our police here does that by now.
Though, weather looks pretty nice and warm. Pity the officers who have to wear full gear.
Here’s an idea: do this in summer. And then have the granny brigade bring home made apple pie and drinks. Though, some nutjob will possibly scream that they’d try to poison the officers.

Taking the high-ground for battle is in the Bible, some of the oldest and ancient Chinese war manuals, and obviously in most war doctrines in history. Here the ‘Fraud’ in the White House is ultimately paranoid out of his gourd. The only new thing here is THE Fraud is freaking paranoid, so we know he is up to no-good.

While I agree with you that being on the rooftops may be standard procedure, I am not quite so sure about the swat team.
I have been to a Tea Party where there were ANTI tea partyers as well as the Pres. and there was no sign of a swat team.
Admittedly the Pres. was not getting out and speaking to us…we were just on the street, but he WAS going to his hotel for the night.
I would think that something like that would warrant plenty of protection, but there were no armored police that I could see….and I took Plenty of photos as well as video.
Although, I am not quite as upset as a lot of people about this show of force, I will admit that I am more and more concerned for ‘We the Peoples’ welfare than ever before.
One has to wonder if this is just a practice session for the supposed ‘secret’ army that “O” is having trained for some future threat that he feels is on the horizon?
Just some thoughts.

In reality, those Tea Partiers — from Missouri, Illinois and Iowa — rallied peacefully outside the Oakley Lindsay Civic Center while the president was inside, delivering a Wall Street-bashing speech.
And who heard that speech? It was a mostly liberal crowd that included at least four busloads of supporters brought in from Kansas City, St. Louis, Springfield and Chicago. Astroturf.

Nice try. Sorry, I used to work kitty-corner from the White House, and I know that the Secret Service is very careful about showing snipers, even at the White House when the president is in residence and times are tense.
So, they weren’t Secret Service. The best guess is that they were local police, and then the question is, why were they in that location?
We know at least some of these guys were the local police, and that the local police were unwilling participants.
If it were me, and I had been pressured improperly to make a show of force against an entirely peaceful assembly with which I sympathized, I would have posted those guys up there, and told them to be highly visible.
They served as both warning, and witness.
Team Obama may have called them out, and prevailed, but the police protected the protesters by being very visible, thereby keeping Team Obama’s thugs in line.
OT – it’s all over the news that there is an oil-spill crisis in the Gulf due to that disastrous explosion. There’s been drilling in the Gulf for many, many years. Now, just after an alleged expansion in drilling is placed in effect, and after they thought the well had been safely capped with little spillage, we have this HUGE leak from at least two places.

While it fairly well known that snipers and spotters may be standard protocol for many POTUS visits, good snipers and spotters typically stay out of site. That’s usually part of most security protocols. The police wearing riot gear standing in front of the venue is definitely not something I am used to seeing.
I’ll read further developments, but of course many may believe that this is staged propaganda on the part of the Obama administration. Hard to blame them, given that the statists and leftists have been raging about violence, trying to convince us that violence will be instigated by freedom loving citizens. The statists have been attempting to incite the populace for a long time, and with great fervor with this administration, yet what several acts of great political violence have been committed by U.S. citizens of any political affiliation in the past 14 years?
The tactics seem very similar to those used in the early 90s. The Federal government actively attacked citizens at Ruby Ridge, Waco, and in other well documented cases back then. A well meaning government doesn’t use military helicopters when making a first attempt to arrest non-violent persons for a suspected case of minor tax evasion ($200). What helicopters went after Timothy Geithner or Tom Daschle for their known evasion of income tax?
Statists and much of the media conspired to place blame on a peaceful culture as a part of an ongoing politically motivated, unconstitutional power grab.
Even more oppressive legislation continues to be passed, and the arrogance and aggressiveness of some government leaders and employees is shocking. I feel sympathy for the many good citizens in government. They are in a very difficult position, and their sworn oath of allegiance reminds us of that. Sad times for our Republic.

I’m going to disagree with Jim on this particular event. Yes, it seems like overkill for those on the other side of the police line, knowing they are not dangerous. However, it is SOP for the locals to be asked to create an outer ring of security and how they do it reflects more on the local PD’s mindset than the feds. With Obama literally crushing one half of the populace and practically the whole Constitution in the process, while arrogantly daring someone to do something about it, it is a wonder the Secret Service lets him out at all. I’m sure inside their crew someone is saying, “Dude, I wish he would chill! He’s going to get somebody hurt!”
It won’t be him, it will be some poor citizen, or some poor cop or some poor Secret Service agent doing his duty.

Maybe if the Anti-war and Anti-bush protesters had stopped smoking pot in the streets, stopped screaming at the police, stopped carrying signs that demanded the deaths of Bush and Cheney, stopped burning crap, and stopped throwing their goddamn trash everywhere, we would have been more sympathetic.
There have been quite a number of tea-party protests now, and I would very much like to know how much ANY of the previously mentioned has happened. I haven’t seen anything on Google News, so feel free to show some evidence. I am sure many on the forums would be happy to verify.

Remember Lyneete “squeaky”Fromme or Sara Jane Moore who both made assassination attempts on Gerald Ford’s life. I wouldn’t have been able to pick them out of a crowd.
The patriots gathering only required a few uniformed police officers. The SWAT team should have been present but unseen.

I wonder if it’s occurred to laura that this president has done more than talk about killing people, he’s actually advocated it.

But I might agree with laura in her second assertion. I think it’s entirely possible this person in “elected office” has been put there for God’s purposes. God knows the danger we’re in as a nation. He’s probably more than a little tired of us turning our back on Him.
And He wants to save us from ourselves.
So maybe God realized we needed a really big dose of evil plopped on top of our heads in order to wake us up: He might have wanted us to see how very evil one person calling himself a Christian can become.
It may take us experiencing the evil of one blind man in full bloom before we’ll return to Him once again. I hope we all begin to pray now as never before for ourselves, for our neighbors and for our country.
We definitely need His help to lead us out of this darkness.

I don’t get it. I saw old people chanting. And cops hanging out in a line. Nobody looked intimidated or scared. The Prez was getting ready to pass through the town. There is always a police presence when the prez passes through. In fact…the police looked more uncomfortable than the old people. And the swat guys…aren’t they state or local? Not federal and not called on by the Prez. I really don’t understand the point of this article. Heck, even the video was fairly benign. I would be much more concerned about the cops in AZ asking for my papers.
