Awful lib Rep. Steve Cohen compared tea party protesters to the KKK in an interview this week. Of course, he has nothing to back up these hateful accusations but it’s not like the media is going to correct him. We all know that won’t happen.
News Alert reported:

Rep. Steve Cohen:

“The tea party people are kind of without robes and hoods. They have really shown a very hardcore angry side of America that is against any type of diversity. We saw opposition to African-Americans, hostility towards gays, hostility towards anyone who, you know, just wasn’t a clone of George Wallace’s fan club.”

Do you suppose Cohen will apologize now that Rep. Cleaver admitted the spitting story was all made up?

  1. Wasn”t George Wallace one of their.

  2. He’s a Southern Democrat so he should know first hand what it’s like to wear a hooded robe.

  3. That’s what I thought, Avery. What political party was George Wallace a member of?
    .

  4. It’s a brilliant strategy to keep insulting the electorate by impugning its morality and intelligence. By the time November rolls around most Americans will heartily support those who:

    1. wrote the worst piece of legislation in American history;

    2. ignored the will of the people;

    3. sold their votes for money;

    4. exempted themselves from the legislation they forced on us;

    5. and accused us of being stupid, racist terrorists for opposing them.

Yes, all will be forgiven by November. Not only that, we’ll be grateful to the Democrats for their oppression and insults.

  5. Is he impyling that Sen. Byrd supports of the Tea Party movement??

  6. Pissing on millions of potential voters with insults, lies and false accusations is not a winning strategy.
Politicians win or lose their jobs in elections and not by how much hate filled rhetoric they can trade amongst themselves.
They are so gonna’ pay for this in November.
I will lay waste to my credit card just to see it happen.

  7. I believe Obama is one of the most hateful individuals I have seen in the public arena. My 84 year old mother says she has never seen such behavior from a president. The Dems follow the Pied Piper to their impending doom, and apparently take their talking points from the Obama playbook.

I’ve been to tea parties and the people I talk to stick to facts and are upset about the tremendous amount of spending and abuse of power. There is nothing hateful about those points…they are expressing their First Amendment right to speak. Obama is the one stoking this nastiness. I am an American who doesn’t listen to anything the Democrats have to say any more. According to polls, I am in the majority. You would think they would stop this assault on law abiding citizens. Last time I looked at the blogs, the violence done at tea parties were carried out by the left.

I’d love to see Obama, Reid and Pelosi tried for treason for not upholding the Constitution. Sigh. A gal can have her fantasies!

  8. Perhaps Mr. Cohen would prefer George Lincoln Rockwell’s crowd???

  9. Liberals are having a meltdown because overwelmingly, people are opposed to NAZIism takeover by this Soviet Style Administration.

  10. Vote his ass out.

  11. Steve Cohen is a half-wit. He apparently thinks the right is so stupid that it only opposes Obama’s agenda because Mr. Obama is black (actually, only half black). I hope someday Cohen will concede that we oppose Obama and his policies because they are socialistic in nature and totally go against the grain of what this country stands for.

    C’mon November!!!

  12. Archbishop Rowan Pigswilliams snubs Pope

    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/faith/article7086314.ece#cid=OTC-RSS&attr=797084

Like a Druidic emissary from Tuatha Dé Danaan, the mythic inhabitants of Ireland, the Archbishop of Canterbury will lob a spiritual depth charge at Pope Benedict XVI on Monday when he damns the Catholic Church in Ireland as having lost all credibility.

Dr Williams also reveals on the BBC Radio 4 programme Start the Week that he is withholding his blessing from Anglicans who choose to take advantage of the Pope’s offer of a special home in the Catholic Church for disaffected Anglicans. “God bless them. I don’t,” he says, witheringly.

  13. I believe Obama is one of the most hateful individuals I have seen in the public arena.

Agreed. A smart man would have gone out after this horrifying period of national tumult and tried to heal the wounds inflicted by the health-care debate.

What is Obama doing? Taunting, insulting, criticizing, and sneering. He can’t resist crowing. He’s easily the most unpresidential president of modern times.

A day after 9/11 Bill Clinton went down to where the World Trade Center stood and simply listened to people who were looking for lost relatives. He reassured them with his massive, calm, 6′ 4″ presence. He didn’t even speak. All he did was examine the photos that people showed him, listen, and then hug them. He was utterly presidential, and I say that as someone who despises Clinton.

Obama is a small-minded, miserable, negative, incompetent embarrassment who will be tossed out on his arrogant rear end in 2012. He will be regarded as a bad dream, the disgusting creep that the country picked up in a bar when it was on a bender and now wants to forget.

  14. Pity me. Cohen is my Congressman. Although white and Jewish, he proudly proclaims he is a liberal as a black woman. National Review has a nice post about his statements in a recent congressional hearing regarding returning voting rights to felons. His only opposition is for the democratic nomination in his district. His opponent is W.W Herrington, the former mayor of Memphis – a race-baiting, crooked demagogue. I plan to vote for the crook over the pandering fool.

  15. It’s OK. The Mooslimes will fine tune his circumcision soon enough …

    Had.it.too.good.for.too.long.

  16. The Congressional Black Caucus blew off this Boot-Licker in spite of his claim his own district is mostly black.

Oh… the delicious taste of anti-Semitism.

  17. i was gonna say, wasnt the kkk the terrorist wing of the democrats… my how people dont know their history…

  18. NOW Dawkins wonders if Christianity disappearing might be a very bad thing

    http://www.moonbattery.com/archives/2010/04/theophobe-leade.html

Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion, said: “There are no Christians, as far as I know, blowing up buildings. I am not aware of any Christian suicide bombers. I am not aware of any major Christian denomination that believes the penalty for apostasy is death. I have mixed feelings about the decline of Christianity, in so far as Christianity might be a bulwark against something worse.”

  19. You know, every time one of these maroons come out and say these things, it makes me want to attend a Tea Party. I mean, they’re practically goading me into it.

    Me and how many others?

  20. Not Intimidated
    April 2nd, 2010 | 8:14 pm | #14

What you posted about former President Clinton prompts me to say again that of all POTUS prior to this one, not one of them made me feel unsafe and insecure about the US and our physical and personal safety. Not one of them ever made me feel afraid for our freedoms and liberty. Not one of them made me feel fearful about the future of the US. Never once did I lie awake at night with worry over these things.

I can’t say any of those things about the current POTUS. He’s not a “typical politician.” His lies aren’t “business as usual.” His administration is bursting at the seems with criminals and self-proclaimed communists and terrorist sympathizers. And those are the people in his cabinet. His czars are all of those things and worse. He’s alienated our friends and he’s been kissing the a$$es of our enemies.

No matter how vehemently I opposed any selection or decision made by any POTUS before this one, not once did any of them do anything that worried me like the the selections and decisions of this one does.

God bless America. She needs blessings now more than ever before.

  21. Just posted this on Facebook:

Imagine my “surprise” today when I heard yet another sitting member of Congress (Steve Cohen D-TN) compare opponents of government-run health care to Klansmen and Nazis. I got three words: Bring it on. Seriously, keep it up. The more you talk, the stronger we become. The American People aren’t buying it. We will not let ourselves be demonized, diminished, or divided. That playbook has expired. Sorry.

  22. Atta Auntie,AuntieMadder…..2thumbsup.

  23. Bruce, are the libs trying to convince US or themselves. They are preaching to the converted in their echo chamber. We aren’t amused.

  24. I suspect we are witnessing the end of the democratic party. This is not going to be as easy as tossing out a few bad socialist apples.

While some are looking for a new third party to start with Tea Partiers, it looks to me like the major split will be in the Democratic party. The Democratic leadership has alienated all but their far left.

The traditional Democrats will need to start a new non-socialist Democratic Party.

  25. No matter how vehemently I opposed any selection or decision made by any POTUS before this one, not once did any of them do anything that worried me like the the selections and decisions of this one does.

Before Obama, there was a red line we felt that the president and Congress would not cross. They would only go so far, and then they would stop. All of that is out the window now. As frighting as that is, it also gives us clarity.

The reason this has happened is because we stopped being vigilant. It’s perfectly understandable why we stopped. It’s hard to be on a war footing forever. We have our lives to lead.

At least now we understand that the worst can indeed happen, even here. So now it’s up to us to reverse it. We need to go back to the mentality of the 1950s, of being forever vigilant. We can’t let our guard down again, because there are people in our own government who genuinely hate us and want the worst for us. They want to bring us down, because they consider us selfish, racist, arrogant, unfair, violent, imperialist–

In short, they believe everything Jeremiah Wright says about us. And now they’re running the show. We didn’t believe it could happen here. Americans are decent people who are slow to anger, slow to learn, and slow to face reality.

    But!

When we do learn and finally face reality, we always fix the problem once and for all. When we decide to right a wrong, we always succeed.

So let’s fight the good fight and not be afraid. The worst has already happened; we elected a man who wants to destroy our way of life. Now it’s up to us to stop him.

We can do it, but only if we don’t give up.

  26. “Agreed. A smart man would have gone out after this horrifying period of national tumult and tried to heal the wounds inflicted by the health-care debate.

“What is Obama doing? Taunting, insulting, criticizing, and sneering. He can’t resist crowing. He’s easily the most unpresidential president of modern times.”

Well said, not intimidated. Your whole post.

  27. And Auntie Madder – I agree.

  28. CapitalistMD, I, too, live in his district. There is an alternative, Charlotte Bergman, a black Republican, is running against Cohen and Herenton. She’s a promising candidate. Go to her website and check her out. A lot of us plan on working for her. There is hope!
    Memphian

  29. I’ve never seen elected officials have so much outwardly and expressed contempt for the people the represent.
I think we need a general strike day.
Show them who really runs this country.

  30. You mean this guy still thinks the KKK was formed by Abe Lincoln after the Civil War. Sorry Congressional Clunker your party was still fighting for segregation in the 1960s, when Sen Byrd was filibustering the 1964 Civil Rights Act. No wonder Michelle says we have to re-write history. So you can talk stupid racism like this huh….

Even ignorant Democrats know the KKK was the Democrats terror wing. And did you know — Democrats wrote the Black codes, Jim Crow laws, and even Jimmy Carter was a closet segregationist, he pappy was a real segregationists, separate but equal kinda white guy.

And how about that Bill Clinton mentor Sam Fulbright? You do know who he was don’t you …

Like with Obama and his Cambridge police admissions, the truth produces a broken race card.

  31. Anything to distract and get us on the defence. Not falling for it. Your days are numbered as a politician.

  32. “Character Assassination”
    or “whatever it takes …”

  33. Juan Williams nails it.

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB20001424052702304252704575155942054483252.html

“But Democrats cannot win elections without capturing the votes of independent-minded swing voters. And that is where writing off the tea party as a bunch of racist kooks becomes self-destructive. The tea party outrage over health-care reform, deficit spending and entitlements run amok is no fringe concern. And it is insulting to all voters to suggest that criticism of President Obama, even by people who want to throw him out of office, is motivated by racism.”

He also mentions that, whether the ugly incidents occurred or not really is of no moment because the concerns of the Tea Partiers are real and are not fundamentally race-based.

  34. It is best not to give a damn what these people say; always do what is right and just, and you will never lose your way.

The left is going to use political correctness to make out any opposition to their taking over of America to be lepers no one will want to associate with lest they want to become outcasts. They did the same thing with labelling those who want Obama to prove his eligibility to be ‘BIRTHERS’, and now people see that label as a negative, instead of a positive and have shut up. The Democrats would never shut up, because the right doesn’t use the same tactics against them and they don’t have the media to perpetuate the lies.

  35. “The Democrats would never shut up, because the right doesn’t use the same tactics against them and ‘doesn’t’ have the media to perpetuate the lies.”

  37. Oh son your supposed to be reasoned and restrained and WE are supposed to be the quick to judge. DUDE, your smoking the crack pipe of power and WE are the intervention. We the people have had enough of you. think you have enough power to stop us, think again. We are going to be all over your ass like stink on $hit. (your the $hit) powder is dry.

  38. Cowen, the other Demo-rats, and their butt buddies in the Saul Alinsky media.

All they can do is name call, slander us, make us guilty of something where we have to prove our innocence, but they’re just not intelligent enough to challenge us on the issues.

  39. Excuse me, Cohen, not Cowen. Either ways he’s still a jack ass.

  40. ++

not that any Tea Party – KKK comparison can be made..

pray tell what do we compare these men to??

I’m afraid of what the…that’s where I’m really afraid. I would like to criticize Islam much more than I do publicly, but I’m afraid for my life
    if I do.

He noted that the three politicians’ campaign war chests are
heavily funded by radical Islamists who support the mosque.
