Poor Harry Reid.
The Democratic Majority Leader and coward from Nevada won’t announce his bus tour stops ahead of time out of fear of protesters…
And, yet somehow they find him anyway.

Harry Reid is taking a bus tour across the state of Nevada to rev up the minority of residents who can stand him. But, he won’t announce his arrival time.
The Las Vegas Sun reported:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid swung through the state’s Republican heartland Tuesday and was greeted with a small but polite band of residents from the opposition.
Among the few dozen mostly supportive Democrats gathered at the 88 Cups cafe were a foursome of conservative activists who had been trying for two days to pinpoint the senator’s arrival time.
Harry wouldn’t announce his arrival time. But that’s OK.
They found him anyway.
Harry Reid canceled a fireside chat last weekend at a Mormon meeting place after protesters threatened to show up.

If you read the article, you will see that Shannon Travis of CNN accepts the claims of racial abuse directed toward our black legislators as fact, and then proceeds to report his experiences:
“But here’s what you don’t often see in the coverage of Tea Party rallies: Patriotic signs professing a love for country; mothers and fathers with their children; African-Americans proudly participating; and senior citizens bopping to a hip-hop rapper.
Last week, I saw all of this during a five-city Western swing as the Tea Party Express national tour made its way across the country.”
I do have a quibble with this article. It’s written around what you “see” on TV, and Andrew Breitbart has offered a reward for the footage that shows the alleged racial insults. I suspect that Mr. Travis has something else in mind, here, and I don’t know what it is.
This is how we win: by acting like our own cheerful, adult, American selves. If we have to win over one reporting team at a time, we can do it.
Restraint. Logic. Thoughtfulness. Economic savvy. These are on our side, and we can use them to get our way with our government because most of our fellow Americans will agree with us.

a) try to figure out what they want and why by talking to them, or
b) accept he’s woefully out of touch and select a new line of work.

Kudos to you Nevadans for staking him out and chasing him off. How pathetic that you have to run and hide from your constituents. A stealth bus tour, that’s a first.
I can just picture Harry riding up in the passenger seat, behind tinted windows as the bus rolls up to a potential stop. Before the bus comes to a complete stop at the site, Harry with his keen eyesight spots 3-4 protestors. ABORT! ABORT! Full speed ahead. As the bus powers away leaving the protestors to eat dust, Harry wipes his brow. Whew! that was close, I think I’ll lay down now.

I have family in northern Nevada specifically in Fernley and Elko. The area economically depends on farming, ranching and mining, and recreational activities such as hunting.
A neice in Fernley says Dingy Harry and his Sierra Club money buddies are screwing the local farmers by restricting and interfering with their 150 year old established water rights. His next 2 scheduled” stops are in gold mining towns where Harry’s Sierra Club campaign financing wackos have been waging lawfare war against the mining industry for the last 20 years to stop the economic development of the region’s vast & largely untapped deposits of gold, shale oil, and other rare minerals.
In Elko famous for its rodeo, Cowboy Poetry & Basque Festivals the green loons and their eastern and left coast billionaire campaign contributors who wet kiss “This War is Lost” with tens of millions of dollars have completely driven out the traditional Basque sheep ranching business,and wreaked regulatory havoc on the cattle ranching industry, and have the much reviled federal BLM has been closing off county owned roads blocking hunters and recreational users access to the area’s game rich lands and mountain areas much loved by hikers and outdoorsmen.
Harry Reid is considerably less popular in rural Nevada then the local rattlesnakes and he knows if the hour of his arrival were known in the towns along the route Dingy is traveling he’d be greeted by nothing but hoots and boos of the ‘smelly” locals. He is so damned unpopular he can’t even show up at a local Mormon church though he claims to be a Mormon.
Every town in Nevada other than LV which he and his corrupt sons rule as a fiefdom have billboards and numerous yard signs such as Will Rogers Never Met Harry Reid & Anybody Butt Harry Reid.

MY sister who lives in Elko population 17,000 and some of ther friends were laying in wait planning a protest greeting but were foiled by his irregular schedule since threy all have jobs, families and a life.

If the only people who are going to show up at these appearances are known supporters whom he has contacted privately, how exactly is that going to advance his campaign? Tepid newspaper accounts of these gatherings are hardly likely to gin up much public support.

When Harry ran the last time, back in ’04, he actually visited a local gunshop here in Henderson Nevada.
After he ascended first to minority leader then to the position of majority leader of the Senate his behavior changed massively. It became clear that he had changed his loyalty from the people of Nevada to the national democratic party.

McLean said the call center had been inundated by uninsured consumers who were hoping that the overhaul would translate into instant, affordable coverage. “We tell them it’s not free, that there are going to be things in place that help people who are low-income, but that ultimately most of that is not going to be taking place until 2014,” McLean said.
Adults with pre-existing conditions are frustrated to learn that insurers won’t have to cover them until 2014 (though those under 18 will be protected in late September); then they become both hopeful and confused upon learning that a federal high-risk pool for them will be established in the next few months. “Health insurance is so confusing. The piece goes on to cite how Obama plans a year long education campaign to combat all the confusion.

The people of this state are hurting big time because of Harry Reid and the Dem Congress. It has cost the Casinos big bucks and has brought Unemployment in Nevada to almost 14%. The two main sources of jobs in this town are Casinos and Construction–both of which are dying a slow death. 85% of Nevadans have Healthcare coverage so they do not want this bill. What can Reid say to Nevadans now to get their votes? Better to make a bus tour with no stops — then to listen to Nevadans screaming at him.

I’m a registered Libertarian. Rarely is there a Republican who has earned my vote.
That said, once the Republicans have picked their Senate candidate, I will be supporting him or her. I don’t care who it is. The important thing is to send Harry into retirement, before he does any more damage, either to this country or to the reputation of the Church.
