Can we call them socialists now?
Chris Matthews tells his liberal panel yesterday that Barack Obama and the leftwing bloggers are failing at selling their socialism to the American public.

Matthews is right. Most Americans don’t like the democrat’s nationalized health care plan in particular. CBS News found last week that 53% of Americans oppose the socialized plan while only 32% support the plan.

I think this is what Michael Steele was talking about when he said he had a narrower scope of action than a white person in his position. Steele was Lt. Gov. of the State of Maryland, and he has taken a LOT of abuse. But ….

A tea party supporter running against House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., Lollar says he’s finding support in unexpected places.
The 38-year-old U.S. Marine Corps reservist recently walked into a bar in southern Maryland decorated with a Confederate flag. It gave his wife Rosha pause.
“I said, ‘You know what, honey? Many, many of our Southern citizens came together under that flag for the purpose of keeping their family and their state together,’” Lollar recalled. “The flag is not what you’re to fear. It’s the stupidity behind the flag that is a problem. I don’t think we’ll find that in here. Let’s go ahead in.”
Once inside, they were treated to a pig roast, a motorcycle rally—and presented with $5,000 in contributions for his campaign.”

It’s refreshing in its own way to see Barack Obama embracing American imperialism. Usually, Obama’s allies on the Left argue that the US has no business telling other countries how to manage their own affairs, and usually object to imposing our hegemony and Pax Americana on the rest of the world. Dictating peace terms to Israel is apparently an exception:
