Senate Democrats have gathered in the Rules Committee to eliminate the filibuster.

Jason, it’s been in the news for a month or so. Basically, Reid and others have decided that while it was good when they filibustered, it is now bad when the Republicans do it. That’s essentially it–Jim’s point here is simlpy that they spoke out forcefully against such limitations when filibuster worked in their favor.

I think #41 Kansas is on to something. We’ve all seen how the Dems play fast and loose with rules, why wouldn’t they abolish the “filibuster” now, pass energy taxes (aka cap and trade), amnesty, and God only knows what else (VAT?), with simple majorities, and then reinstate the rules if defeated in November. That would make it nearly impossible to unravel their unraveling of the nation in timely fashion.

The way things are going I think there is a fair chance of wresting the Democrats’ majority in the Senate from their grasping hands. I think it is pretty much impossible for the Republicans to get to 60 votes. If they are short sighted enough to do this, it will come back to haunt them big time. A simple way to solve all of this and correct the many, many problems an do it legally. The Governor’s call their state legislator to order, the state legislators call for a Constitutional Congress. The new Congress meets and begin repealling uncontitutional laws, begining with the income tax and work their way forward to this health care fiasco.
