On FOX News Sunday Bill Kristol mocked Barack Obama’s “Que Sera, Sera (Whatever will be, will be)” nuclear policy with Iran and North Korea.

I think I know, even though I’m not a nuclear expert, that Iran’s getting nuclear weapons is a heck of a lot more important than these paper treaties and these 46 nation conferences and the president is doing nothing from stopping Iran from getting nuclear weapons. That is the bottom line. That dwarfs everything else from happening…
Let me just read one thing he said Friday morning, “You know the history of the Iranian regime like the North Korean regime is, you know, you apply international pressure on these countries. Sometimes they choose to change behavior, sometimes they don’t.” …Que Sera, Sera. You do your best. You get these four Security Council resolutions and then they go ahead and get nuclear weapons. The president’s attitude is “Hmph.”

The question that should be asked is “What are people going to do when Iran has nukes and starts using them on us and the State of Israel?” People need to get their priorities straight. Iran is run by nutjobs intend on killing all infidels, including all Muslims who oppose them.

I wouldn’t make the assumption that an outside strike against the government would result in a popular uprising against the government. Bay of Pigs, anyone? I think it’s much more likely that the people of Iran would galvanize against a common enemy just as they did when Iraq attacked — which is how Khomeni ended up consolidating his power in the early 1980s.
Siderblaze, where are the troops going to come from for a sustained war in Iran? How are we going to pay for it? How long do you think that war would go on before we could leave?

Solartov, Iran’s unforgivable sin is to threaten to acquire a nuclear weapon, right? And that’s unforgivable because it would give Iran the capacity to destroy a city, right? They wouldn’t actually be destroying it, they would just have the capacity to. How does that justify destroying a country? What gives you the right to do so?

First we bomb their nulear sites and then we send over a delegatation of Democratic congressmen and congresswomen and includeing the President and Vice President.
Then we tell Iran to close off the strait. We then put sanctions on them so that no one, absolutely no one can leave the country.

Iran has never invaded or attacked another country. We (the US CIA) on the other hand toppled their democractically elected president in 1953. Then when they overthrew a US puppet dictator (the Shah) with what was granted a fanatical government, we supported Iraq’s invasion of Iran. We gave them cover, support, money, and weapons so they could annhilate Iran for us. The Iraqis killed a million Iranians.
So to answer your question of “will killing millions of Iranians work”, it won’t work. It didn’t work. It will only encourage them and everyone else to get nuclear weapons for their own safety. Once you attack and demonstrate the willingness to invade a country that hasn’t attacked you (which we did in Iraq), it just makes every other rogue regime more intent on getting weapons.
That’s not to say that Iran is a great regime, it’s a rogue dictatorship. That’s also not saying we should be meek. But no, we can’t just keep attacking, invading, and annhiliating. Above all, we’re out of money. Iraq and Afghanistan were fought off the books, so basically china is financing our war.
speaking of which, while we’re concerned about Iran, China is spending like crazy on military. We need to get American factories up and running for defense. They make so much of our stuff. Do you think they’ll keep selling us the supplies we need if we’re at war?
