AZ Governor Brewer's Popularity Soars After Signing Immigration Bill

Despite the rantings by Al Sharpton and Barack Obama, 70% of Arizona voters agree with new immigration legislation signed into law last Friday.
And, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer enjoyed a nice bounce in her approval ratings this week after signing the immigration bill into law.
Last week, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed an immigration law that launched a national debate. It has also at least temporarily helped her own chances of remaining Arizona’s governor.
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in the state shows that 56% now approve of the way Brewer is performing her role as governor. Two weeks ago, just 40% offered their approval.

Limbaugh’s idea is brilliant. The Governor of Arizona should hold a press conference and announce that the state of Arizona will offer one-way vouchers to San Francisco on AMTRAK or Greyhound Bus to any illegal alien who wants to leave Arizona. I’d expand that offer to any SANCTUARY CITY in the country…maybe even Washington, D.C.
Another great idea is to publish in every Arizona newspaper the MEXICAN Immigration Policy, what THEY demand of visitors. Hey, Al “not-so-Sharpton”, take your “freedom walkers” to Mexico and see how you are treated.

I am a native Californian who now lives in AZ. Does anyone remember what happened in CA?
From the experience of Prop. 187 in CA, AZ is winning the battle but could very well lose the war in the long run (and not very long from now). Our ex-Governor, a sitting President and his evil machine, and the entire Democratic apparatus is on the verge of open warfare against this law, and the courts will go along with them. Keep in mind, the 9th Circuit already ruled against such laws, saying the state infringed on the federal government’s rights, saying that the feds have “exclusive jurisdiction over matters relating to immigration.”
The Democrats latched onto anti-Prop. 187 sentiment even though the law originally passed overwhelmingly in the state (59%, in almost every county). The Republicans NEVER recovered from this, to this day. Essentially the Democratic vote plus the overwhelming illegal immigrant vote ensure that the Republicans will be punished for a very long time.
This issue could bring the Hispanic vote out in large numbers in November, not only in CA, but in other states as well, effectively killing the Republican’s and Tea Party’s chances of sending these evil Democrats packing. Rubio in Florida is concerned, and that evil Boxer is rubbing her hands at the Arizona gift and how she will play it out here.

Most of the opposition to the bill is based on the mistaken impression that it’s something else, entirely. In particular, this bill conforms state law to US law, and does not permit heretofore unlawful stops. Rather, after a lawful stop, the police are authorized to ask for Id, just as they are for US citizens.
For example, the New York Times published a blast against the law, based on the wrong text.

What I do know is that Reid and Schumer can count, and when Lindsey Graham told them to back off with their wonderful plan to ram immigration legislation through on a 3-week schedule, they would have checked first, to see whether they had the votes to get it through.
The allies I refer to are Democratic senators who have been warned by their constituents that they will forfeit their seats if they vote for the wrong kind of immigration legislation. Ben Cardin, D.-Md is an example.
Now, the question is whether this (what is this? A new bill?) will be taken up now, or tabled in hopes the whole thing will go away with the next news cycle.

Today, we have hindsight, the TEA Party movement is alive and well and can add this issue to its cause, so the chances of a redux of the California calamity in Arizona is remote at best. Add the down economy, the growing fear of the federal government nationalizing everything in sight and forcing more control over American citizens while allowing an invasion of foreigners who get all the benefits WITHOUT even having to follow the same rules and laws citizens do, and you have a whole different situation. Don’t forget, the new Obamacare law FORCES AMERICAN CITIZENS to “show us your HEALTHCARE papers” or be FINED, and the IRS is the collection agency. I live in Arizona. I have a life and work that I do here. I have children that I’m trying to raise here. Arizonans are living, everyday, with the tragic results of a State being invaded. There's been no public clamor for "comprehensive immigration reform" in Mexico, however, because pro-illegal alien speech by outsiders is prohibited.
But under the Mexican constitution, such political speech by foreigners is banned. Noncitizens cannot "in any way participate in the political affairs of the country." In fact, a plethora of Mexican statutes enacted by its congress limit the participation of foreign nationals and companies in everything from investment, education, mining and civil aviation to electric energy and firearms. Foreigners have severely limited private property and employment rights (if any).
As for abuse, the Mexican government is notorious for its abuse of Central American illegal aliens who attempt to violate Mexico's southern border. The Red Cross has protested rampant Mexican police corruption, intimidation and bribery schemes targeting illegal aliens there for years. Mexico didn't respond by granting mass amnesty to illegal aliens, as it is demanding that we do. It clamped down on its borders even further. In late 2008, the Mexican government launched an aggressive deportation plan to curtain illegal Cuban immigration and human trafficking through Cancun.
Meanwhile, Mexican consular offices in the United States have coordinated with left-wing social justice groups and the Catholic Church leadership to demand a moratorium on all deportations and a freeze on all employment raids across America.
Mexico is doing the job Arizona is now doing -- a job the U.S. government has failed miserably to do: putting its people first. Well…first off….Rev. Al (not so sharp) Sharpton, answer this for me…..
If, as you say in this interview, that Immigration is “in the hands of the Federal Government”, then WHY is the FED. government NOT doing anything about it?
It would seem to me that if the Fed. government were taking care of the immigration issue, then the STATE would not have to “interfere”, with immigration.
It would appear that the REV. seems to think that the STATES should NOT interfere with Fed. law.
It just appears to me that the STATE is just giving the Federal Law some teeth in which to uphold their position on ‘ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION’.
You would think that honest, LEGAL, U.S. citizens would not mind in the least having to show proof of their citizenship……if it meant more JOBS open to them and safer streets.
Let’s use some common sense here AL
