1,000 Tea Party Protest: 0 Arrested… 1 Leftist SEIU Protest: 25 Arrested

Yesterday, tens of thousands of Tea Party Protesters held attended rallies across this great nation… Not one was arrested.

Also yesterday… Leftist SEIU thugs held one rally in Ohio… 25 were arrested.
The Dispatch reported, via Instapundit:
A crowd of more than 100 protestors faced off against about 50 police officers yesterday afternoon at Ohio State University in an attempt to bring public awareness to the conditions of Sodexo food-workers at university sporting events.
The protesters marched across the Oval just before 3 p.m. yesterday. About 25 protestors sat down at High Street and 13th Avenue, but walked off the road when police tapped their shoulders.
“We negotiated this out in advance,” said Columbus Police Lt. Christopher Bowling. “Because they did not impede their arrest they didn’t resist we’re charging them with a misdemeanor fourth-degree disorderly conduct charge,” punishable by up to 30 days in jail and up to a $2,000 fine…
The protest caused a long backup of cars, particular in the southbound lanes of High Street, but traffic was starting to get back to normal by about 3:30 p.m.
The protest is part of a “smear campaign” against the firm by the SEIU in a bid to get the firm to exclusively negotiate with that union, said Sodexo spokeswoman Monica Zimmer.
“Sodexo respects unequivocally the right to unionize or not to unionize as they choose,” Zimmer said, noting that the company currently operates with 300 different union contracts.

Sodexo does the food on my son’s campus. Not surprised to hear they are SEIU. They do a crummy job and the students can’t bring their own food or snacks to ANYTHING. They rule that campus.

Greetings:
I live in the San Francisco Bay area where police-demonstrator negotiations are prevalent if not required by law. Unfortunately, the interests of the public in freely moving about or conducting its commerce never get anything but the shortest of shrifts from those who are sworn to protect those interests.
My recommendation is that those members of the public negatively effected contact the police to get the names and addresses of the “demonstrators” and then take them individually to Small Claims Court in a suit for damages.

I WONDERED where those thugs were at yesterday’s tea party here in Columbus! There was only a sad little group of infiltrators dressed like Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Carribean, wandering around stoned out of their minds, feeling disappointed that they were mostly ignored. I kind of felt bad for them….nah! Not really.

I’m a liberal, atheist, and left wing Obama voter. I also happen to be a Columbus Police officer. I suppose that makes me a militant liberal?
For what its worth, I also disagree entirely with protesters blocking passage of law abiding citizens and M4′s are justified. I just understand where they are coming from and don’t have malice for their misguided ways.
