One person was shot dead and five others were wounded during a gang-related shooting in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
News OK reported:
One man is dead and at least five people injured after an apparent gang-related shooting inside Arrowhead Mall this afternoon, officials said.
One man was dead upon the arrival at Muskogee Regional Medical Center, hospital spokesman Ched Wetz said. His identity has not been released.
The others are being treated for injuries, but have been stabilized, Wetz said.
Muskogee police spokesman Pedro Zardeneta confirmed the death and “maybe five, maybe six” people injured. He said police do not know yet if the person killed was among those doing the shooting, or was a bystander.
“It appears to be gang-related,” said Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson.
Zardeneta said several people were involved in the shooting, and witnesses thought a gunfight occurred. He said there were reports of shots fired elsewhere in the city after the mall shooting, but those reports haven’t been confirmed.
