That didn’t take long. He’s only been free for 3 months.
The Long War Journal reported:

  1. Once again, the POW calculus:

    1) You don’t ever want to fight anyone
    twice;

    2) Some POWs may have useful
    information;

    3) Capture, relocation and detention of
    POWs requires the
    use of scarce resources.

    If I catch them, I’ll do the math.

  3. Brennan added that the Pentagon’s updated recidivism “report indicates no confirmed or suspected recidivists among detainees transferred during this Administration, although we recognize the ongoing risk that detainees could engage in such activity.”

    IT’S BUSH’s FAULT…IT’S BUSH’s FAULT…IT’S BUSH’s FAULT…Oh, wait,…

    Abdul Hafiz’s recidivism highlights that risk. He was transferred to Afghanistan just a few months ago and has already assumed a leadership position within the Taliban’s ranks once again. By some estimates, it takes an average of one and a half years for Gitmo recidivists to rejoin the fight.

    Hafiz returned to the fight in far less time.

  6. This is a big hard lesson for Americans to ingest all at once but this is the reality. We’ve been on a runaway train for…since Joe McCarthy. The foundations of America have been undermined and we, the adults, did nothing.

    Now people are going to die to ram the message home. Hope we all get it then.

    In the “children’s” book The Little Prince, he lives on a very small planet. There are baobabs on the planet. If he was to allow them to grow and flourish, their roots would sink into his little planet and crack it apart. So the Little Prince goes out with his shovel frequently and digs up the baobab seedlings so his planet will remain good and healthy and livable.

    We didn’t dig up the baobab seedlings and we’re going to pay for our laissez-faire attitude. Some people will pay for our folly with their lives. Unfortunately most of them with be our military, the best of us.

  7. if only they sent him to newton ma or amherst ma – he’d probably be managing a starbucks, married a local girl and the only group he would have joined would’ve been the book club. but no, they had to send him to afghanistan.

  8. It’s best to just line them up and shoot them. That’s what Colonel George Custer use to do to his enemies, he also did it to some his men who showed cowardice in the battlefield.
    A dead terrorist usually won’t return to the battlefield.

    But our military has become too “politically correct” and is hesitant to kill the enemy and prefers to capture them. Just like the police which catch the criminals, the liberal judges just release them back into the community.
