Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI), the great conservative thinker and orator, delivered these remarks following the Democratic takeover of the health care industry:

Representative McCotter on the democratic takeover of the health care industry:

“So this is what change looks like? I would remind the president that he is not the leader of a party or ideology. He is the leader of our country, one founded not to humiliate others but to inspire the world. As families lose their jobs, their homes and their dreams for their children; as our troops fight and sacrifice in foreign fields for our liberty and security, President Obama’s obsessive-compulsive pursuit of an abominable government takeover of health care has defied the public’s objections and spoiled this House and further alienated Americans from their representative government. As President Obama’s campaign mantra of hope and change has degenerated into tax and hate…”

  1. Obama promised “Change you can believe in”. What he has delivered is an attempt to change WHAT we belive in.

  2. You don’t even need to be conservative to be totally angry at this insane nonsense that Obama is pulling off. All you have to do is open your eyes and look at countries that have such systems, because there you see… it ain’t working as planned, promised and prayed for.

  3. He certainly called a spade a spade.

  4. Tax and Hate….I like that, it is what we should label the dems.

  5. I left Michigan 20 years ago because there were too many Dingles, and Granholms, and not enough McCotters. The unemployment rate in Michigan they say is 15.5%. I say bull. Instead of telling us how many are not working, lets count the ones that are and get a clearer picture. How many in Detroit are working? How many still live there. When I was born in Detroit, many more years ago than I will admit to, it was the 5TH. largest city in America, with 2.5 million people. There isn’t a million left.

McCotter is a ray of hope to all that survive in Michigan. Hang in there Michigan, help is on the way, if you vote for help.

  6. In an era of Congressional Democrats and media lefties whose lack of intellectual curiosity is outmatched only by their rigidly committed to their unworkable ideology, and whose answers to every criticism raised about their recklessness is to spin, dissemble, lie, and otherwise audaciously BS with substance free analysis, the Republican bench in this Congress generally stands head and should above the dems, in terms of intellect (tactics, well that’s another story) . Out of this strong republican bench however, McCotter really is exceptional.

If only we could trade McCain and his ilk for more McCotters…

You can see more of his intellect at work here:

  7. almost a year ago rasmussen had a poll concerning healthcare and the bottom line was
that favorability fell when they thought their own coverage would be affected. no one really knows what will happen. i was listening to a
    discussion of “pre-existing” conditions by
people who read the bill and people make a mistake buying this sight-unseen.

  8. Well said.

  9. I hope he is right about the future and fear he is wrong.

  10. Other quotes today: Newt discussing BO with Hannity:

    “Which Constitution was he teaching?”

“I can’t believe he taught Constitutional law and be this wrong this often.”

  11. Just when you wonder who will fill the conservative vacuum, all of these wonderful Republicans emerge! Another one to watch!

  12. Oh, and best: Hannity said something like, “He can’t sign an Executive Order and think it can trump federal law.”

“He may think he can,” Newt smiled.

they (Obama et al) are the ones who love to tax & hate US!!

  14. Wow… Wow…

I’ve never heard of Thaddeus McCotter, but this monologue on the floor of the House was, and probably will forever be, one of the most eloquent speeches I have ever heard.

  15. The Republican primary system needs work. The “insiders” still run the process, and in November, the Republican field may be stacked with McCain RINO types. Get involved locally and get elected as a delegate to help chase off the RINOs.

  16. i do believe there is a video of obama lamenting the fact that the constitution had
no mechanism to redistribute wealth [or something along those lines]. there are those who believe the constitution to be a living document…….

and don’t bother asking them (Obama et
al) if they give a flying bats guano, gah!!

  18. Tax and hate is the Leftists’ sloan.

They are going to tax us to death, hate us while we are still fighting for our freedoms (which is fine with me, BRING IT ON), and they are going to kill babies, sick and old people.

Rep. McCotter: Thank you and keep telling everybody what the Leftists are doing to us.

  19. Thank you Rep. McCotter. You have now lost two institutions in your State of Michigan. General Motors was stolen from the private sector out of MI and today the Health Care Industry. The nation has also lost at least one Doctor, perhaps from the class of 2020. My son had hoped to become a doctor for the past several years. He’s headed to High School next year. But that occupation now carries with it the exceptionally high cost of medical school and the prospect of working for minimum wage. His mind has changed and wherever he chooses to live there will be a longer line and longer wait for those that need medical treatment.
