John Patrick Bedell, the man who went on a shooting spree outside the Pentagon this week, was a Bush-hating, pot smoking, registered democrat.

Although, officials said he did not have any suspected links to terrorist groups it was discovered this weekend that Bedell used the Arabic term inshallah or “God willing,” using Arabic font – “إن شاء الله” – on more than one on his internet postings.
Creeping Shariah reported:

A Twitter post revealed that John Patrick Bedell had an account on SourceForge containing “Jihad code.” Looking at the account of jpbedell – he used the Arabic term “inshallah” or “God willing,” using Arabic font – “إن شاء الله” – on more than one page. Here are screenshots from the website and project named “openinsurgent.”

This wasn’t the only time John Patrick Bedell used Arabic writing in his posts. Creeping Shariah has more.

You won’t see this reported by the state-run media. In fact, they still haven’t reported that Bedell was a registered democrat.

  1. You know the beverage of choice in those Arab-speaking countries?

    Tea.

    Coincidence? I think not!

  2. I wonder what would happen if someone writes “Deus vult” on his website. And then does something stupid.

You think the media would ignore that?

    Certainly not.

Is the media biased? Uhmm… now what gives you that impression??

  3. The Bart Simpson” media (YOU CONSERVATIVES DIDN’T SEE ME WRITE IT, YOU CAN’T PROVE IT, YOU DIDN’T HEAR ME YELL ALLAHU AKBAR, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH) didn’t even want to admit that the Fort Hood massacre was a terrorist attack committed by a committed MUSLIM Jihadi who had been promoted thanks to political correctness. This emperor and all his devotees in the press not only have no clothes, they have no shame.

  4. Remember the incident a few years back in Salt Lake City? Did the mall shooter yell “Allahu akbar”? One report so indicated.

  5. cnn is reporting adam gahdan has been caught.

  6. Muhammad Atta said: “Shout, ‘Allahu Akbar,’ because this strikes fear in the hearts of the non-believers.” Hmmm….as a conceal carry license holder, the key factor to the use of deadly force is if a “reasonable man” would fear for their life. I guess I now have a reference that should anyone jump up and yell “Allahu Akbar” deadly force may indeed be appropriate from the perspective of a reasonable man.

  7. I sorta have to point out that I say “In’shall’ah” all the time, and I am about as Arabic as ABBA.

I have Arabic friends that I picked it up from, and it is a great catch-all statement for anything you say that basically, “you expect is going to happen, but who really can be sure” etc etc. And multi-culti in small doses!!!!!!!!!!!! is kinda hip.

Now there is certainly more to the charming Mr. Bedell, no doubt, but I do want to say that, as we fight a profound ideological battle, let’s try not to attack every single solitary niggling little thing, because when we treat the small things like big things, we de facto logically are treating the big things like small things.

“Pick your battles” might be a pithier way to say it.

    My 2¢.

  8. “let’s try not to attack every single solitary niggling little thing, because when we treat the small things like big things”

Our apologies Andrew X! We just assumed that someone who shoots 2 officers at the PENTAGON was at a level above a “niggling little thing”.

Perhaps we should raise the red flag when a “multi-culti” someone shouts something Arabic before blowing up a mall perhaps or should we have a higher body count to get to your level of concern.

It is this apathy is what’s getting people killed.

  9. Dude, c’mon. It’s the Arabic use of the term “God-willing” that is the (minor) issue, and I shouldn’t even have to clarify, I was perfectly clear.

And guess what? As we are talking about that in particular, as the very headline of this post indicates, then we are focusing on that “, niggling little thing”, and not on the parts of the story that matter. Get it?

You can do better than that.

  10. Christians use the term ‘God-willing’, but they certainly do not say it in Arabic, unless, they are a Christian who writes in Arabic. Christianity existed from the beginning, but in human terms, Christianity existed long before Islam, so it would be just another part of the Bible taken by Islam to integrate into their own piece-meal religion.

  11. of course “muslims” aren’t any worst or more dangerous than the “right wing extreme” according to Homeland security.

The “right wing extreme” has proven to be very peaceful compared to all these democrats/liberals/muslims.

Maybe they need to rewrite there “enemies” list. They might need the “right wing extreme” some day.

  12. Andrew X
The big picture here is that the MSMedia has been Pavlovian in painting any bad actor as a closet Tea Partier. Yet they become Houdini’s when trying to hide the real links to Leftists or Islam when they commit heinous acts.

If Amy Bishop was a stark raving Bushite 20/20 would have done a 1 hour special on it. But when Togo West issued an entire report on Ft Hood & didn’t mention Islamic Jihad once. We get Crickets from the Lame Stream Media.

Your attempt to down play the issue by inferring we are the small minded ones is an insult. Sadly you probably can’t do any better.

Then get to it, “Dude.” Hanging around here and leaving comments to tell us that we shouldn’t be here leaving comments makes you look like the biggest of hypocrites.

Oh, and as “inshallah” or “Allahu Akbar” become the last words more and more Americans hear in the moments before they’re murdered, you might want to consider dropping it from your vocabulary. Unless you’re the type who likes to joke about bombs while at the airport and shout “Fire!” in theatres, in which case, keep on inshallahing at your own risk. Idiot.

  14. I’m an American and NOBODY I know uses the term insh allah.

  15. He has his head tilted back in defiance like Obama the terrorist supporting fake president.

  16. “You won’t see this reported by the state-run media. In fact, they still haven’t reported that Bedell was a registered democrat.”

Actually, the state-run media reported the exact opposite.

  17. I agree 100% with Andrew. The real issue is the shooting, not whether the shooter was a democrat or used an Arabic term. By the way, Christians in Arab speaking countries say “inshallah”, too.

  18. Thanks, MR.

I wisely chose to back outa this one. If I may repeat one thing I said, and one thing only.

….When we treat the small things like big things, we de facto logically are treating the big things like small things.

    Out.

  19. We lived in Muslim and dominate Muslims countries for years and we fell easily into using “inshallah” frequently a day. Practically every other sentence.
Never used it coming back to the States. When in Rome .. do as the Romans do.

So it looks odd to us coming from a guy like him. It appears as if he picked it up because he was attracted to it, not that it was part of his daily environment in any normal or mundane way. And he worked himself up to a level off pissed self-righteous enough to act in a violent manner against the Pentagon, so what lit his fuse?
