Code Pink Marxists shut down a Karl Rove book signing event at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills Monday night.
After they disrupted his speech and would not stop harassing him – Rove was forced to leave the stage.
Barack Obama’s top bundler Jodie Evans led the pink storm troopers against Rove.
Via HotAirPundit:
Jodie Evans was one of Barack Obama’s top 500 bundlers who raised nearly $100,000 for the Democratic nominee. The radical Obama supporter also rushed the stage during Sarah Palin’s speech at the Xcel Center during the Republican Convention and has met with the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Michelle Malkin has more on the Code Pink mob and added:
The Code Pink mobsters have been waging these in-your-face attacks for years without so much as a peep of outrage from the selective NYTimes/MSNBC/Democrat civility police.
Do you suppose the state-run media will label them as racists, too?

It’s the left that is intolerant. How many leftists need a body guard when speaking on a campus?
Janet commented:
Jim, Don’t forget when Code Pink attacked Condoleezza Rice in Oct. 2007. Was that racist? One woman put her hands covered in fake “blood” in Ms. Rice’s face, and was screaming at her.
ken commented:
Seems to me the organizers have a legal action against code pink for damages. They should sue, as well as all other organizers of functions that code pink has disrupted. Bankrupt the idiots and they might stay home.
Janet commented:
Here is the video and an article on Condoleezza Rice being attacked. http://sweetness-light.com/archive/code-pink-lunatic-attacks-condoleezza-rice
Did she go on news shows and call Democrats racists? Did the media write endless stories about the hatred, racism, and violence within the Democrat base?

It should be called “Code Red”.

I’m sorry, but I would just once like to see these people NOT win with these tactics. Where is the conservative who refuses to leave the stage, hurls the truth back at these people and insists that the cops or campus police remove these people for disruptive behavior that is outside of bounds when it comes to expressing their right to free speech.
NO ONE has the right to shut down someone else’s right to free speech. I want to see these people thrown out and if they won’t go then see them arrested.
Is it really that hard? Do these people somehow have a right to shut someone else down if they feel like it???
Even Coulter left the stage rather than calling for their outster from the room. I am asking for just one conservative with enough balls to stand their lawful ground.
Carbon Monoxide commented:
This tactic of letting them chase us off the world stage while we fake outrage isn’t getting us anywhere. We need to take more aggressive response.

Rove better get some better security. One of these nuts will come after him with something one of these days.
I would have shouted them down if i would have been there
Greg commented:
Free speech is reserved for patriotic supporters of ODOGMA. If that does not include you then you need to sit down, shut up, cease and desist. Or do we have to get in your face and disrupt your activities by whatever patriotic means we can get away with?
averagemelon commented:
Bullhorns and buckets of manure should be standard equipment for all conservative speakers and their enterage. DO NOT BACK DOWN.

I’m ready for two Americas… the principles of the left cannot support themselves without suckling at the production of the right. It’s math, plain and simple… cut them off and see how long this mentality lasts.

Why were the wet noodles in the audience just sitting there?

Here is another idea.
Glenn Reynolds uses the phrase “a pack, not a herd.” The next time this happens and nothing is done about it. The crowd who has come to hear the speaker who is being heckled needs to take matters into their own hands. Whether that means drowning out the hecklers or politely crowding/herding them out of the building, we will have to do it. No touching, no law-breaking is necessary. If the crowd gets up and forms a wall which then surrounds and herds the protestors away, the protestors can’t scream assault.
Can we get some pledges here? Pledge right now that you will not allow this to happen to the next conservative speaker who is targetted this way if you will be attending their event. Make a pledge that if a conservative speaker is coming to your liberal outpost of a town or campus where the likelihood of a protest like this is high, that you will make it a point to attend so that our numbers are boosted. Insist ahead of time that authorities enforce security at such a private event and that they will eject the disruptive and enforce protest zones outside of the event. Make some noise people.
It really is up to us.
Peggy commented:
Oh yeah and how about a class action free speech lawsuit? Can that be done? Can the conservative speakers who have been hounded off stage in the last few years sue the respective authorities for allowing these disruptions to go on and on until they shut down an event? I would say that those authorities are not protecting free speech and isnt that like what they are obliged to do? What about the private instituions? Can they also be sued for infringing on the rights of conservative students to hear the speakers of their choice?
This has to end now. I am getting so f-ing sick of it.
ok rant over.

I was just about to suggest police whistles and buckets of water. I like your idea better.
Although you could always pick up your bullhorn, point at the shrieking harpies, and say “Look everybody, the fascists who want to shut down other people’s conversations have arrived.” Although I suspect that these overgrown toddlers won’t be accustomed to hearing the word “fascist” being applied to them.
These obnoxious freaks are all for THEIR OWN First Amendment rights, but they have ZERO respect for YOURS. I don’t remember any rightwingers confronting the vast numbers of Bush-bashing “peace protesters” like this, so it’s pretty clear that it’s the Left that want everybody else to STFU.
PB-in-AL commented:
@Peggy – you’re right about those that came to hear him, just sitting there. I agree, they/we need to stand up for OUR rights to gather to support whoever we wish. I think your idea of surrounding them with supporters to block the knuckleheads is a good idea.
With regard to your comment about why are they just buckling under when faced with such outrageous behavior, I think it has to do with the authorities not being willing to step in and deal with these people committing disorderly conduct. The problem stems from many of the liberal judges who would side with these people when they whined about their rights being trampled and their free speech being stifled. It’s no excuse, I agree with you that folks need to stand firm, but I suspect that is why.

A good smackdown would end this nonsense. Let it be on camera. Let the media rage. Who cares? They hate us anyway. May as well enjoy it. And you get the bonus of the leftwing radicals thinking long and hard before screwing with your next Conservative speaker.

Battery powered bullhorns are cheap. Every conservative speaker should carry one next to his video camera when protests are on the horizon.
Video cameras are necessary to be able to prove that progressive protesters are, in fact, horrible douchebags.
