A majority of Americans believe that democrats abused power when they rammed their unpopular nationalized health care plan down America’s throat.
The Plum Line reported this from Gallup:
Regardless of whether you favored or opposed the health care legislation passed this week, do you think the methods the Democratic leaders in Congress used to get enough legislation — were [they] an abuse of power, or were [they] an appropriate use of power by the party that controls the majority in Congress?
Abuse of power 53%
Appropriate use of power 40%
No opinion 7%
It looks like not even the state-run media could keep all of the corrption, bribes and backroom deals from the American public, after all.

I find it truly shocking that 40% of America is either so disconnected from what’s going on or is so truly pig ignorant of the Constitution and proper process of Congress that they actually think what went on was okay.
And thus we see the intent of dumbing down schools – ignorant citizens will stand still for just about any abuse of the Constitution or the law.
(we’re so screwed)

It was clearly an abuse of power, and also a major trampling of the US Constitution, and 200 years of the known purpose of the Constitution, which was designed to protect law-abiding citizens from being trampled by an over-reaching, power-grabbing dictatorial bunch of bureaucrats in the government.
There is no excuse for it – proof is in the outrage we know those powermongering Malignant Narcissists would be expressing if Conservatives did as much to THEM from a seat of occupancy of a high office in the government.

This is perhaps the greatest abuse.

This whole administration is an abuse of power. Bush made recess appointments because he could not get a vote on a nominee; Barry just appoints people the Senate has rejected, or just grants them vast power and influence with no consent all.
Name one bill done in any other fashion than unipartisan. The only thing bi-partisan here is opposition to these abuses of power.

I go to every online poll I can find, and answer “I Don’t Know”, “No Opinion”, or “Undecided”. Well, someone’s got to do it.

Clearly an abuse of power. It will all be overturned some day.

Most Americans believe Democrats “Abused Process” – because Republicans told them so. In defining “Abuse” Boehner, Cantor, McCain & Hatch told TV cameras NEVER had reconciliation been used for major health reform, NEVER for a “govt takeover” like Obama’s which “rammed health reform down America’s throats against their will” & GOP NEVER used reconciliation for GOP 2003 Medicare Rx Drug Act (MMA). Right…
The Facts:
#1 Lie – GOP absolutely used reconciliation in 2006 to amend MMA BUT Congress says Reconciliation can’t be used for bills that increase deficits – unlike Obamacare, Bushcare was deficit-funded & racked up $1.2 trillion costs & $8+ trillion to Medicare unfunded liability. GOP unprecedented “ramming through” health policy bill & BIG deficit violated law & “abused process” NOT Obama!
#2 Lie – Reconciliation HAD been used for a bigger bill than Obamacare – GOP Bushcare deficit in $ trillions was 10 x Obamacare cost!
#3 Ethics & Process Abuse – MMA Reconciliation bill cleared Senate with agreement that insurers pay $10 billion to Medicaid – lobbyists working with GOP shifted costs on to poor Medicaid beneficiaries. Dems filed Congressional complaint.

#4 Violation & Lie – 9/7/04 GAO Investigation finds Bush administration “illegally witheld data from Congress on cost of the new Medicare law”. To force bill thru, GOP estimated $400 billion – 2 weeks later increased to $535 billion.
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/09/08/politics/08medicare.html?_r=1
#5 Hypocrisy & Deceit – Unlike Obamacare, online since Nov & discussed 24/7, US voters NEVER saw copy of MMA, hence given no voice re $15 billion annual corporate subsidies billed to taxpayers, GOP-enabled premium & Rx price hikes Part B/Part D, Medicare privatization, disinterested in voter concerns, GOP forced MMA into law.
#6 Hypocrisy, Ethics & Process Abuse –“behind closed doors” GOP wrote MMA with lobbyists, Dems had less than 24 hrs to review 800 pages & prohibited from amending

#7 Fraud & Collusion -.Consequently MMA benefitted drug & insurance industries with massive windfall profits & stuck Medicare, taxpayers & seniors with skyrocketing costs & an abusive ‘donut hole’

#8.Corruption – on 3/17/04 GAO Investigation found GOP Majority leaders guilty of corruption & offering $100,000 bribe for YES votes on controversial MMA bill
