So, which state-run media outlet will be the first to claim this Bush-hating Truther is a tea party activist? …We’ll have to wait and see.
In the meantime, the Christian Science Monitor was the first to call the pot smoking, Bush-hating, Truther a right wing extremist.
For the record, 35% of democrats believed Bush knew about the 9-11 attacks in advance. 99.9% of the left were Bush-haters.
UPDATE: So… Will the state-run media report this?
The Pentagon shooter is linked to several gay rights groups along with PETA, NPR, various drug legalization orgs, Greenpeace and Al Franken.
Hmm. So when was the last time you ran into a “right wing extremist” who was a big fan of Al Franken?
UPDATE: The media’s “right wing extremist” is a registered democrat.

I don’t want this to be a self-fulfilling prophecy, but if they continue to smear conservative activism as inherently violent, won’t that make them “fair game” in the eyes of well-meaning but inattentive people?
And doesn’t that put conservative activists in the cross-hairs of a backlash? Can “news” people really be this evil? It seems the Left can.
And what about a class of voters made to take the rap for violence it does not commit? How long can you scapegoat a segment of Americans before something snaps? Yeah, they’ve done it to Christians for generations — but not everyone is going to take such abuse like a Christian.

Since the media get their orders from the WH, I can only speculate that they are setting the stage for future events. Like people suddenly and unexpectedly disappearing and the media claiming they are right wing extremists so that the public won’t care what has happened to them and won’t ask questions.

The problem with that label is that it is exclusively applied to imply “right-wing” these days. Also, “right wing” is a misnomer for all three of the loner nutcases: The Holocaust museum shooter, the Pentagon shooter, and the IRS airplane guy. They all have more in common with the Unabomber (Ted Kaczinsky) then they do with Tea Partiers or radio talk-show hosts.

There are just a very few indications that Obama could sign the healthcare bill after passage by the House, with no “reconciliation” being performed. The “reconciliation” would presumably be done at a later date, really, much later, as in next year.

[Barack Obama will make a speech tomorrow laying out the way forward on health care. It’s widely expected that he will endorse a reconciliation sidecar approach to pass what amounts to the Senate bill with a series of fixes outlined in his white paper on the subject. The process would begin with the House passing the Senate bill the week of March 19. The House would then pass a reconciliation bill and send it to the Senate the week of March 26. The timing is designed to stop Republicans from an endless series of amendments, which would eat into their Easter recess. I don’t think this will stop them, but some rulings from the chair calling non-germane amendments dilatory and out of order presumably would.
This is an extremely rough outline – we don’t know the substance of the sidecar bill. But procedurally, it does look like the House would go first, passing the Senate bill before the changes come into play (it would then be held and not signed into law without the changes). It’s unclear what kind of collateral House Democrats would need from the Senate – a signed pledge, a televised statement, who knows – before feeling free to pass their bill.
You can tell that the House is gearing up to pass something with respect to health care, because the Democratic media shop has floated to the AP some names of possible vote-switchers on the bill, which would be needed to move forward.]

No report on the media here.
Instead we get the Guardian article about the “more and more militant militias in the US” presented as fact. Austrian ORF quotes the Southern Poverty Law Centre as a “trustworthy and well known source” and calls the ideas those opposing Obama “absurd” (literally.) They also have another article talking about the “looneys” who fight the “devil Obama” and they quote the Washington Post and ABC. And in a third one they’re bashing Palin.
The US MSM are the only sources European MSM use.
