A rancher in New Mexico was shot and killed on his ranch on Saturday presumably by a drug smuggler coming in from Mexico.

Three members of New Mexico’s congressional delegation have asked for an increase in the Border Patrol’s presence, and former Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo called on Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to dispatch the National Guard to the Arizona border
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is under pressure to beef up border security in the Southwest in the wake of Saturday’s killing of a rancher in southeastern Arizona.
Three members of New Mexico’s congressional delegation have asked for an increase in the Border Patrol’s presence in the Boot Heel of New Mexico, about 10 miles from where the rancher was shot to death over the weekend. U.S. Sens. Jeff Bingaman and Tom Udall, along with Rep. Harry Teague, say Napolitano’s agency needs to take more security steps.
And former Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo, an outspoken opponent of illegal immigration, called on Napolitano to “reject politics and do the right thing” by dispatching the National Guard to the Arizona border.
Cochise County Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives responded to an area northeast of Douglas on Saturday after searchers found the body of 58-year-old Robert Krentz inside his all terrain vehicle on his property. Detectives were able to determine that Krentz apparently came upon one person when he was fatally shot and his dog was wounded.
Cochise County investigators said Monday that Krentz likely was killed by an illegal immigrant, but there’s no evidence to suggest there was any confrontation that led to the shooting.
The Westerner reported this on the killing:
Rob Krentz, Apache, Arizona, was killed sometime yesterday, apparently by illegals on his ranch. He was checking cattle on his 4-wheeler. He radioed home that he had come across some Mexicans, one of them in need of care. He requested that his brother contact the Border Patrol to send assistance. That was the last that was heard from him. When he didn’t come home around noon, the family began looking for him. He was found by helicopter in the middle of the night. Both he and his dog had been shot.

Ok…..is the map right, and this took place in Arizona? Or is the headline right, and this took place in New Mexico? MM says “Arizona Rancher…” Tragic and unbelievably horrible either way, but accuracy counts in the ‘new media.’ The border in BOTH NM and AZ are overdue for closure – building the fence is imperative. John McCain (whether you like him or not) was right – the violence in Mexico threatens to spill over into the US. This seems to be the first example of…it already is.

I don’t know what he was thinking riding fence alone in that area.

And these are the people Obie wants to leave in the US. Worse, he wants to import more of them.
Because this idea is working so well in Europe.
Not.
Why do you think our crime rates are soaring these days? Because we let every ass into our countries. We have the same problems with Turks, Romanians and other “Southerners”. In fact I’d say our Turks are your Mexicans.

Memo
To: Dear Leader
From: Rahm
This is so great! See, if we can (deem and) pass amnesty, we can take the right’s bullets away. They wouldn’t be “illegals” murdering ranchers, they would be citizens. Then Holder could avoid embarassing questions about how/where to try them. Get that **ussy Graham on the phone. Hey boss, how does 30 million new voters sound??!!
Please advise,
Rahmie

Oh dear this is a lie.
The only Mexicans that cross our border are Jose and Maria with their bambino’s Juan and Juanita. They only come here with gleaming white teeth looking for oppurtunity and a jobs.
We should let them all in. And Muzzzlims too.

ANSWER: He thought he was in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA on HIS OWN PROPERTY, not in a Third World Banana Republic…silly him.

No administration is serious about National Security while they allow an invading army to enter our country through unprotected borders. I wonder how many law-abiding citizens will die before our nation gets its collective head out of its butt and issues the military to protect this land until the necessary barriers can be built.

This is relatively minor in the big scheme of things but does anyone know if the rancher’s dog which was shot has survived? The report above on this site says “wounded”. Some early reports said the dog was critically wounded and a few headlines I saw yesterday on blogs said “rancher and dog shot to death”. Does anybody know definitively if the dog is still alive?

Dear Jim, thank you for posting this story.. My heart goes out to Mrs. Krentz and her family. I wonder,as an Arizonan, how would it be to go home to where my husband was murdered? How would it feel? And then I wept.
How much more will Mrs. Krentz still have to endure?.. because the tragedy won’t end here for Bob’s family.. How would anyone feel about going out to check the cattle of fences on his own property after this? How much more terror will Bob’s wife endure from this day on?
No law or lack of it, causes a just man or woman to take an innocent life (particulary on his own land) for no reason.
.. but today,I pray for the family and the good people of Douglas and of Arizona and our Country.. and I ask our lawmakers: how much of Bob’s blood is on your hands today? When is enough, enough? The border MUST BE SECURED NOW!

I wish my best friend got this kind of minor media coverage when he was murdered by illegal aliens 2 years ago simply because he was white and his girlfriend was hispanic. One of the illegal immigrant gangs in our area requires their members to rape or murder a white person in order to get promoted. And yet this racist illegal immigrant gang gets zero media coverage and is pretty much allowed to operate with impunity. If something isn’t done soon on a national level we’re literally going to be ethnically cleansed from our neighborhoods. Does Obama care? Does the left care? Does the right even care? It doesn’t seem like anyone cares beyond a small group of conservatives.

If you have not been told, it is in ARIZONA, not New Mexico. Cochise County is Southeast Arizona.
Please update your headlines before Keith Olbermann calls you a racist mysoginistic tea-bagging birther…
Keep up the good work!

Now there is a call for Janet “the system worked” Napolitano to do something. Yep that will solve the problem.

As others have already noted, Jim, this occurred in Douglas. Arizona. I’m spending the winter here. It is a beautiful country. Far too beautiful for lowlifes who would go as far as to kill a rancher to enter the United States. I have a permit to carry concealed or in the open…. and I definitely DO!
Rick commented:
Nappy poo of homeless insecurity will do nothing. For years many Arizonans requested and even demanded that the border be secured and/or the Arizona National Guard be sent to assist the border patrol. When The wicked witch of the southwest was governor, she refused saying it was a federal problem. Yet, it’s in the State Constitution that she had the right to send troops to the border if the fed would not do its job. The witch was and is an amnesty and open borders advocate. She is one of the reasons PHX and Tucson are sanctuary cities by her inaction. Now PHX is the kidnapping capital in the US. Only person fighting to protect us is Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County. It is unfortunate that he does not have jurisdiction around the border. He could clean up the mess.
Now we have what many have feared for years – death. Pity the poor rancher who shoots an illegal while defending his own life – jail.
Napolitano is nothing more than a bio-system for a O2 converter to CO2, and she is in charge of defending the homeland. LOL

I have been fighting illegal immigration for years…go to http://www.voiac.com to see how many citizens have been harmed or killed by illegals.
A couple of years ago, a rancher pulled a gun on illegals on his ranch…they brought charges against the rancher….the judge awarded the illegals his ranch…and put the rancher in jail.
The illegals ended up selling the ranch!
And politicians wonder why people are fed up!
