Howard Dean says Obamacare hangs out to dry, “Every democrat who’s running for office including the president in 2012.”
The Hill reported:

Passing the healthcare proposals before Congress will “hang out to dry” every Democratic incumbent running for reelection this fall, Howard Dean said Thursday.

Dean, a physician by training who’s a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), said that Democrats in Congress — and President Barack Obama — would do themselves more harm than good by passing the current healthcare bill.

“The plan, as it comes from the Senate, hangs out every Democrat who’s running for office to dry — including the president, in 2012, because it makes him defend a plan that isn’t in effect essentially yet,” Dean said during an appearance on the liberal Bill Press Radio Show.

Dean, who has clashed publicly with the White House over the healthcare proposals favored by the administration, said that by passing the bills under consideration, Democrats would essentially be conceding defeat to Republicans.

“It’s easy to campaign on repealing something if no one knows what the something is,” Dean said. “And fundamentally people don’t understand what the president’s healthcare plan is.”

“And if it passes next week and get’s signed into law the week after, we’re not going to be able to explain it to people over the din of Fox News and the Republicans,” the former Democratic party chairman added.

But, that won’t stop Obama and the radicals from ramming this awful legislation through Congress.

  1. The only part in effect will be the taxes. All the “goodies” are delayed for years. Defeating taxes is a lot easier than defeating an entrenched group who feel entitled to the benefits.

Furthermore, the fact that the costs are shoved out for years means that the real estimates are extremely low–even by the standards of lying Democrats (redundant, I know).

  2. Government gone wild and with the same amount of scruples as the Girls.

  3. What’s pretty funny is his claim that the Democrats won’t be able to “explain it to the people over the din of Fox News.”
So, apparently, having CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, PBS, NY Times, WaPost, Boston Globe, USA Today and 90% of the regional newspapers in the country in the tank for Democrats is not enough, as usual….it is the “din of Fox News” that somehow negates each and every other media company in this country.

  4. they can repeal this…right?

  5. The ‘din of Fox News and the Republicans’? You mean the five percent of the media that are conservative somehow noise out the 95 percent liberal media in this country? What a houdini trick! Maybe Dean should have Obama give more speeches on health care legislation and campaign for democrap congress critters. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

  6. Howard Dean takes it up the ass. What a complete fudgepacker.

  7. He’s ticked because it isn’t happening fast enough and it isn’t as bad as he’d llke it to be?

    they can repeal this…right?

That’s the $64,000 question, MrTetris…and I haven’t heard anyone address that question lately.

The way Harry Reid wrote his bill, there was a “no repeal” provision that would – if found to be Constitutional – cause a repeal action to be tried and denied; then, a challenge to the Constitutionality of that clause could be made to the Supreme Court.

I don’t know…and I don’t think anyone knows…if Obama included that provision in his bill.

Considering the fact that the mechanism exists to repeal every other law, including amendments to the Constitution itself, I don’t see how Reid’s “no repeal” clause could have possibly passed Constitutional muster.

  9. As for Howard Dean? Who cares, really?

The Democrats ran Dean out of town on a rail right after his 50 State’s Initiative won them complete control of DC back in ’08. What Howard Dean thinks matters to no one.

  11. If Obama has his way, there won’t even be a Congress or Senate in four years. Why would a socialist/Marxist want a body of people voted in by the American people to curtail any of the fundamental changes he wants to impose on the U.S. anyhow? He isn’t appointing radical czars for nothing.

  12. “The only part in effect will be the taxes. All the “goodies” are delayed for years.” another tax bonanza for the most ethical congress ever
to guard much like the fox and the chicken coop.
the big rush is probably for another source of
    funds that they can pilfer

  13. The only law that can’t be repealed is….none, any law can be repealed, even costitutional amendments. Lets hope that the Dems do lose and we get some conservative Independents and Republicans to take their place or this country is down the toilet, with liberals going “what happened?”

  14. The Democrat sure don”t care about their member for that matter the America people.

  15. Two positive things have happened as a result of the dems pushing this:

    1) The scales have fallen from the eyes of the American people, and they understand that their government has become malevolent.

    2) Democrats should get their asses absolutely whupped this year, 2012 and hopefully many many election cycles to come.

  16. DEAN IS HALF RIGHT:

    OBAMACARE DOES SCREW ALL DEMS.

BUT HE’S WRONG IF HE THINKS AMERICANS DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT OBAMACARE IS ALL ABOUT.

IT’S ALL WE’VE HEARD ABOUT FOR A YEAR.

MOST PEOPLE UNDERSTAND IT AND DON’T LIKE IT.

AS A RESULT EVEN HERE IN NYC, ANTI-OBAMA CHATTER IS NOW COMMONPLACE.

HE’S BEEM A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT FOR THE LEFT AND INDEPENDENTS AN HE’S BEEN WORSE THAN THE RIGHT HAD IMAGINED.

IT AIN’T CUZ OF PROCESS OR PR.

IT’S THE MESSAGE AND THE MESSENGER.

“OBAMACARE IS THE LONGEST POLITICAL SUICIDE NOTE SINCE MICHAEL FOOTS 1983 LABOUR PARTY MANIFESTO.”

  17. If the GOP gets a supermajority, and takes back the presidency in 2012, they can repeal it. What I heard was, if the dems use reconciliation to jam it down our throats, legally, the GOP can use reconciliation to throw it back up.

Let’s hope so. Which means, this is all for naught. Obama thinks he can keep the POTUS seat in 2012, and he’s dreaming. Congress is already lost.

The GOP simply needs to campaign on repealing this colossal mess, and it’s a done deal.

  18. Also, even if this monstrosity does get enacted it still has to pass constitutional muster. I should think there will be any number of groups and individuals with the standing to litigate this legislation thrown out on legislative grounds. Pray for the 4 conservative members of the SCOTUS and the other 5 that they will see the horror waiting to be unleashed in this.

  19. Not only does it hang them out to dry, but it irons and folds them, too. Failure! Yay!

  20. If this abomination passes, real Americans only need to remember three words: Nullify, repeal, impeach. No compromise, no debate. We will not let them take this country down.

  21. Obama’s been promoting essentially the same plan for almost a year. Support for this collapsed months ago. Virginia and New Jersey went Republican in part over this power grab back in November (4 months ago). Scott Brown won in Mass, what, one month ago?

Howard Dean comes out now, finally, that this is an electoral disaster for the Dems? The guy’s a genius.

  22. DeMint spoke with Beck this morning and said if this passes, it will be nearly impossible to repeal — as all entitlements are once passed.

He recommended going to your congress critters’ local offices, with a group of 10 or 12, at least. Call the local paper so they can send a photographer. Tell the critter what you’re planning. He said this is THE most effective method to strike fear into their empty chest cavities.

  23. the only things I know about obamacare is
    1. if you don’t buy it, you go to jail.
    2. the government can take the premiums out of your checking account without your approval.
    3. illegals are exempt from paying for obamacare without any fines or jail penalties. They are still covered anyway.

I don’t watch Fox News, so I’m out of the loop.

  24. DeMint spoke with Beck this morning and said if this passes, it will be nearly impossible to repeal — as all entitlements are once passed.

Nearly impossible means it’s still possible. If they choose to pass it, then we’ll have no choice but to try and repeal it, because it won’t work and it’ll cost too much.

Americans won’t passively allow the country to become a Third World craphole. ObamaCare is simply too destructive to be allowed to stand, so it’ll eventually be repealed. It may not be easy, but it’s entirely possible.

    ___

Yes, this came as a whole new thing to me. I never thought of the government as wanting to harm us before. Just sometimes some normal stuff, you know, that happens to everybody, when you deal with such a large bureaucracy. Nothing personal.

Since Obama, it’s been, nearly every day, “Omg, what are they trying to do to us now?”

This is the first time I have ever thought of the government that way. Of course, this is the first time I’ve ever been identified by the government as the enemy. (For being in the tea party, and being against these policies.)

You add to that the horrible way they are supposedly “protecting” us from terrorists. You know they think a lot more of the terrorists than they do of us here, who aren’t going along with the program. Napoleatano (or whatever her name is) made that clear in that government report.

If that weren’t enough, we have Obama demonizing us, along with doctors, bankers, CEO’s, car manufacturers, policemen, and basically any normal American group of people.

So it’s a whole new way of thinking for me. I don’t like it.

    really??

part 1 passed under the radar in Stimulus package..

["The first part of The Obama Health Care Plan was buried in The Stimulus Bill which was signed into law by the President in February. It
is the second part of The Health Care Plan which is now being debated in Congress."

"The underlying method of cutting costs throughout the plan is based on rationing and denying care, not preventing health care need. The plan's method is the most inhumane and unethical approach in cutting costs. The rationing of care is implemented through a Council, equivalent to the National Health Care Board in the British Health Care System. The name given to this panel is The Federal Coordinating Council For Comparative Effectiveness Research (“Federal Council”). (Section 9201 H.R. 1 Version of the Stimulus Bill.)

"President Obama has already appointed the fifteen member Federal Council. According to the Stimulus Bill, p.152, all members of the Council must be “senior federal officers or employees.” Thus, medical treatment will be dispensed by a group of bureaucrats from their ivory towers, not by the hands-on practitioners in the presence of the patients. The council was funded with $1.1 BILLION from The Stimulus Bill."

"According to former New York Lieutenant Governor and Health Policy Analyst Dr. Betsy McCaughey, the Federal Council will set a cost effectiveness standard for treatment. (Stimulus Bill p. 464) Translation.....if you are over 65 or have been recently diagnosed as having an advanced form of cardiac disease or aggressive cancer, dream
on if you think you will get treated.....pick out your box..."]

do some research, there’s plenty of info out there, ie (links @ link)..

sorry meant to re: [still has to pass constitutional muster]

as i do not believe there’s a snowballs chance in heck that this monstrosity can ever be unraveled, never mind repealed in the sense everyone seems to be taking it, like it wouldn’t take (fitb), that’s if it can be.. *sigh*
