Even if Obama signs it into law, this isn’t over. It CAN’T be over because this towering mutant pig of a bill will bankrupt us. Hopefully the state legislatures will keep this thing in the courts.

MAYBE this thing can’t get repealed, but I want to see some serious testing of that theory before I accept it as true. I mean you get four years of taxes and fines and pain before you see any benefits from this thing. Come on! Just how dependent are people going to get on this thing?
At the very least we should deny the thing funding in whatever ways we can. And it wouldn’t hurt to remind people whenever possible that this law takes care of the problem of 30 million uninsured by telling you that you WILL BUY healthcare insurance or be fined by the feds, and that this law calls for the IRS to hire 16,000 new people to help enforce this part of the law. In other words, this part of the bill isn’t aimed at the insurance companies; it’s aimed squarely at US PRIVATE CITIZENS.

First point of business is to make sure whoever runs against Stupak is supported in every possible way and he and his family needs to have the spot light on them from now on and even after he is voted out and every step they take and every move they make we’ll be watching them. The way this is done is the problem. Democrats aren’t really interested in coverage, or they would’ve looked seriously at Paul Ryan’s plan. Democrats want the power to control us. That’s what this plan is about. Control. It’s about implementing the public option, which will lead to the end of private insurance. It’s about health-care rationing, which is another liberal religious tenet. It’s about forcing all of us–except for Congress and unions–to become dependent on government.

I agree with AuntieMadder. I do feel more invigorated to fight this, both in the short term and in the long term. But after all of the effort and emotion people have put into stopping this thing passing, some are going to express sadness and even dismay. If you wish to keep people from giving up, Alice, then encourage respectfully. Do not attack your allies. What you are doing presently might drive some away even further.

History shows us that Americans become most fierce when they’re pissed upon by others, may they be kings or fascists from another country.
It’s the one lesson from history and it goes: don’t anger the Americans. They might look like harmless little bears most of the time, but when you poke them too much… they go feral on you, like a Grizzly mother protecting her cub.
Let’s just hope Obama doesn’t get ideas like here, where the left demands a “minimum financial security” for everyone (1,000 Euros per month.) Yep, they want to pay 1,000 Euros to all the “needy” and “poor” we have in this country, because of the “new poverty” (which doesn’t exist anyway.) Our welfare state has generated generations of people who simply refuse to work because living off the taxpayer is easier.

This bill has nothing to do with health care. It is simply about power. When the United States is bankrupt very, very few will have any health care. You need doctors for health care. Do you expect them to work for nothing? Cardiologist just took a big cut in pay. This won’t go on forever. Only those who can go overseas will get any health care. Sorry Mr Jones, take a pain pill. If your son or daughter borrowed $100,000 to become a doctor, how do you repay the loans which now belong to the government? Slavery, anyone? If you want real horror stories, listen to Castro’s slaves (doctors). Welcome to the Soviet Union.
