Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) brought photos of the family’s DC igloo to the Senate on Monday. Inhofe then proceeded to give junk scientist Al Gore a thrashing during his speech on the Senate floor.
Senator Inhofe called global warming junk science “the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people.”
The Politico reported:
Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) attacked former Vice President Al Gore on the Senate floor Monday, calling climate change “the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people” and claiming that Gore is now “running for cover.”
The “hoax” line is an Inhofe standby, but he raised the level of attack on Monday.
In front of the backdrop of a blown up Weekly Standard cover featuring Gore, Inhofe railed on the former vice president.
“After weeks of the global warming scandal, the world’s first climate billionaire is running for cover. Yes, I’m talking about Al Gore,” Inhofe charged. “He’s under siege these days. The credibility of the IPCC is eroding. The EPA’s endangerment finding is collapsing. And belief that global warming is leading to catastrophe is evaporating. Gore seems to be drowning in a sea of his own global warming illusions nevertheless. He’s desperately trying to keep global warming alarmism alive today.”
Inhofe also floated a political conspiracy theory focused on Gore.
He cited a secret “high-level meeting with all [Gore's] global alarmists,” called a recent Gore op-ed in the New York Times a “sure-fire sign of desperation” and compared Gore to an ostrich.

Gore belongs in the cell next to Bernie Madoff for bilking the public out of billions of dollars for all the research grants and carbon credit expenses caused by the Mann-made Gorebull warming fraud.

I love how Keith Olbermann got his panties in a bunch over a little kid poking fun at Al Gore. And I’m sure both his viewers felt the same way.

I fell in love with Sen Inhofe several years ago when he showed his disgust with both DIMS & Repubs at the Abu Ghraib hearings. He said something along the lines of he was ‘outraged at the outrage’ at the table. He didn’t care that he was giving it to McCain and Graham. I cheered.
He stored up a lot of free passes with me with that one statement and I could forgive him almost anything. Guts.

According to the Christian Science Monitor, yeah, I know, they are NOT Christian, NOT Scientists, and NOT Monitors, but anyway, they are reporting that the Global Warming Scammers are trying to enlist “Follywood” to start making propaganda movies to help shore up their sinking ship of fools. Gee, how about a catchy title…oh, maybe something like “An Inconvenient Truth Cooled Off Owlgore on his way to the SNOW JOB bank”….

The only thing that I disagree with Sen. Inhofe is this:
“the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people”.
I think that claim is reserved for the current potus and congress!!!

The “hoax” is designed, very simply, to scare people into allowing the government to tax CO2. Once you tax CO2 you tax the expenditure of energy. Expenditure of energy is in direct proportion to GDP.
For example. Lets say you grow apples. Now you want to double production. You must truck twice as many apples. You must maintain twice as many trees. Twice as many apples must be shipped to grocery stores.
If you tax CO2, it allows the government to tax production at a very fundamental level; the energy it takes to perform the production.
It is designed to scare you into allowing the government to tax you more. That is it in a nutshell.

Speaking of hoaxes, it may turn out that the Toyota ‘accellerator problem’ may not be all that it’s been made out to be. Not a hoax, perhaps, but not the scandalous or pervasive issue that it has become due to media-driven public and political hysteria.
For decades now we’ve been subjected to scares that had some foundation in reality, but were never actually a crisis, but were built into crises by activists, politicians and lawyers, usually of the leftist persuasion. The whole AGW thing is simply the biggest baddest overblown scare of them all.
