Hero Conservative Senator Jim Bunning (R-KY) came to an agreement tonight with democrats. He block spending on a senate bill because democrats broke their pay-go legislation from 2 weeks ago. Bunning released this statement after an agreement was made.
“I hope sentate Democrats tonight vote for their own pay-fors and show Americans they are committed to fiscal discipline…. I’ll be watching them closely and checking off the hypocrites one by one.”

Bunning posted his statement online after an agreement was reached today:
U.S. Senator Jim Bunning issued the following statement on the agreement reached today with Majority Leader Harry Reid to vote tonight on how to pay for extending Unemployment Insurance and other programs.
“I hope Senate Democrats tonight vote for their own pay-fors and show Americans that they are committed to fiscal discipline. I will be watching them closely and checking off the hypocrites one by one.”
Just two weeks ago democrats signed Pay-Go legislation. Two weeks later they broke that pledge.

UPDATE: The Senate passed the extension of benefits tonight without the Pay-Go. Bunning and 18 Republicans opposed the bill.

They will then go laugh and ridicule when questioned over the arbitrary spending of tax dollars and the MSM will join in the ridicule. That’s the game as it is played today. Pay-go is a joke. Tax cuts raise revenue in many cases. Pay-go assumes the opposite. Tax increases depress eccomomic activity causing revenue to fall. Pay-go assumes increased taxes do the opposite. It makes no sense, which is why these dopes ignore it, even when its latest version was only passed two weeks ago.
BTW , Sen. Claire is so proud of pay-go. She wrote me a letter to brag on it. She truly is a useful idiot. One term, please!

They are now voting on whether to abide by their pay-go declaration. If they vote this down, this should be in every re-election ad come November. Period.

He made his point, cut him some slack. The LEADERSHIP should have at least joined him, but true leaders would have forced the issue themselves instead of letting him take the spears alone. This is the kind of response I have gotten from all of them.

The deal Reid and Bunning agreed to is a flawed agreement in which Reid agreed to hold a second vote on offsets. However, the offsets vote is “expected” to fail with the same result that the bill will still be in violation of PAYGO and Bunning’s hold on nominations will be nullified.
