The National Enquirer, America’s trusted paper of record, reported today that former Democratic Vice President Candidate John Edwards will be indicted.

The National Enquirer reported, via Free Republic:
The ultimate fall from grace, a Federal grand jury is about to indict John Edwards, The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.
In another shocker, close sources say Edwards’ estranged wife Elizabeth could help send the former presidential candidate to jail!
Edwards, the disgraced two-time Presidential loser, is being investigated by the feds, including the FBI and IRS, for possible campaign violations related to paying his mistress Rielle Hunter.
The grand jury has been meeting since April 2009, and insiders say an indictment is imminent.
“John is terrified that he’s going to be indicted,” a friend told The ENQUIRER.
“While he believes he’s done nothing illegal in trying to hide his extramarital affair with Rielle and their daughter, he thinks the Feds are going to make an example of him.”
The National Enquirer is in the running for a Pulitzer Prize for reporting after breaking and covering the Edwards’ scandal, something the rest of the state-run media refused to do.

Related… Democrook Charlie Rangel announced today that he would “temporarily” step down from his powerful post as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. The House ethics committee admonished Mr. Rangel last week for violating Congressional gift rules.

Oh dear. The Democrats really should take note. It seems that their teflon coating is getting a bit worn.
Maybe Edwards and Rangel can start a 12 step group.

With the Enquirer assuming the role of ‘the paper of record’, who will report on Alien sightings, and Charlie Sheen’s rap sheet?
Oh yeah, the NY and LA Times can assume that role!

Yeah baby!

Look out Charlie Rangel!! Here comes your bus!!
Why don’t you just go ahead and get under there? You can save Pelosi Galore the trouble of throwing you under there.

The National Enquirer has made quite a few scoops lately that have been correct, and have had the AUDACITY to cover stories that are otherwise ignored or suppressed by the MSM. Although unlikely, a Pulitzer for the National Enquirer would be a glass of cold water thrown in the face of the MSM. We can hope.

I just hope his fellow prisioners in the “pen” go easy on him, “pretty boys” with 200.00 haircuts don’t have it easy in there.
Pure greed got him in trouble, he’s a millionaire and could have easily paid his mistress with his on own money. But he got greedy decided to use campaign funds.

Many years ago I was director of a sensitive governmental activity that was frequently in the news. I was interviewed by innumerable radio, television and print reporters including German and Japanese press. On one occasion I was interviewed by the National Enquirer. The topic was rather controversial. Shortly after the interview concluded an editor from the Enquirer called me to verify some context and the accuracy of the quotes attributed to me. They were accurate and the story ran. That was the only time I ever experienced this degree of fact checking.

You still won’t see this in the slobbering democrap media.
Nor will you see anything on Climategate.
Nor the fact that the CRS determined it was NOT a coup in Honduras.
Nor the fact that ACORN threw documents with personal information into the trash in an attempted cover-up.
Nor anything about the corrupt dealings of Rangel (and the late Murtha).
etc.
etc.

————————————-
The same Grand Jury is investigating statewide governmental corruption, including activities of the former NC governor, Mike Easley. (D-NC_corrupt) A 52 Count indictment was handed down recently against Easley’s go-to guy and personal attorney, Ruffin Poole.

Even by the slimy standards of DC, this turd is a slimeball in a class of his own.
A lot of liberals in this country kept their Kerry-Edward bumper stickers on their cars throughout the entirety of Bush’s second term. What a bunch of dopes.

Yeah, but the “Cash for Clunkers” probably got rid of a lot of those bumper stickers along with the cars they were attached to.

I wonder if the other inmates will make “Silky Pony” dress up like Rielle Hunter?

This is odd. Jesse Jackson did the exact same thing (re-directing campaign monies to his mistress), and never even got called on the carpet for having done so. Now they want to prosecute John Edwards?
He must’ve crossed somebody pretty high up in the DNC and/or the Obama Administration to face prosecution for doing what other Dem’s did with impunity. Go figure…

A wonderful added bit of deliciousness to this story is that, of course…. what possible foundation could any democrat now have in criticizing the GOP for its recent choice of Vice-presidential candidate? You guys are gonna sit there and tell us that we have no business nominating the likes of Sarah Palin when you wanted to put this immoral, amoral cretin a hearbeat away? You’re gonna criticize us?!?!?
(Just to imagine: if Kerry had won, all this nonsense, that was going on during the campaign, would have come out, resulting in indictments, special investigators, the whole nine yards….. less than a decade after going through all of it with the previous Democratic administration. Yeah, that would’ve gone over well.)
THIS is your VP nominee of 2004, and you can even speak of Sarah Palin without vomiting out of pure shame and embarassment??
I guess it helps when you are without shame and incapable of embarrasment in these matters, but still….
