The global warming nuts are planning their next moves.
The anti-capitalists are going to find sympathetic judges and sue greenhouse gas emitters for causing non-existent global warming.
FOX News reported:
Environmentalists, unable to squeeze “cap and trade” rules through the U.S. Senate, have a new strategy for combating what they believe is man-made global warming:
They’re going to sue.
They’re revving up their briefs and getting ready to shop for judges who will be sympathetic to their novel claim that the companies they believe contribute to global warming are a “public nuisance.”
The environmentalists allege that individual companies are responsible for climate change because they have emitted greenhouse gases during the course of their operations. Those gases, they say, have “harmed” them by fostering Hurricane Katrina, eroding the shorelines of America’s coasts and causing global warming.
“People have a right to sue for redress of grievances,” said Lee A. DeHihns III, a partner with law firm Alston & Bird’s environmental and land development group and a former associate general counsel with the EPA. He said global warming is a “public nuisance,” just like a neighbor with a loud stereo. “You can sue for an intentional infliction of harm, a nuisance,” said DeHihns, whose firm is consulting with defendants in these types of cases.
They won’t be satisfied until we all live in mud huts.

According to an article I read this morning, the 10 plagues on Egypt reported in the Bible were caused by climate change. They must have had some unreported big industries that were to blame
Either that or those biblical lawyers could have sued God. Oh, gosh, I am just mixed up, that’s the ACLU I am thinking of — wrong millennium.

Does this mean that I could sue The Algore for “an intentional infliction of harm”?

I’m thinking of taking a law suit to those organisations for spreading panic and causing public disturbance.

Or that warming period ~2,000 years ago. Damn the Roman and Chinese heavy industry and their transport… horses and oxes which all farted and created like… ah… 1 PPM CO2 per year! Damn them! The Chinese inventing chrome back then was the reason. Or maybe the Romans planting wine in England messed up the uh… something. It messed up something! I don’t have to prove anything since I’m an environmentalist and it’s all for the greater good of the planet!

Levity aside, lawsuits have been their bread and butter for about 30 years. The way these suits clog up the atreries of commerce is shocking. I’d like to see loser pays, penalties invoked for the frivolous nature of many of these actions. The logging industry in the Pacific Northwest was devastated by the Spotted Owl, which turned out not to be extinct. The less proof there is of any of this, the moe strident and out there these folks will be. AL Gore is unduanted, and bilks us all for millions on an ongoing basis. National review had a disctubing piece on just how entrenched these folks are , and how much money in the once free economy is bring directed to literally destroy our ability to retain even token independence in our domestic production of energy.
We need to resist, and educate!

It appears to me that the law firm Alston & Bird are a “public nuisance,” who can also be sued.

In 1997 (pre-Chavez) I visited Venezuela and spent a week in the remote forest. The small villages did consist of huts. The people lived a hard life. The farming of manioc (sp?) involved the clearing of forest, lots of burning.
If they could save enough money, they would by out-board motors for their small boats.
Being primative does not equal eco-friendly.

I have two words – jury nullification.
People must inform themselves on their rights and responsibilities as jurors. The court WILL NOT inform jurors the rights and powers the Constitution gave citizen juries. The judge tells jurors that they must be advised by him and listen to him. The judge is woefully mistaken.
Visit and study the Fully Informed Jury Association website, http://fija.org/
Get informed and when you are called to jury duty, don’t try to be excused from serving. We need constitution-loving Americans to perform this important duty in order to provide a badly needed check our out-of-control legal system that allows this nonsense. Citizens unite!

I’m sueing global warmists for making me spend more money on my heating bills because they don’t want the earth to get warmer.
We can do the same thing, morons.

I wonder how they’ll prove that global warming exists in order for it to be a public nuisance. A loud stereo at a party can be specifically quantified with a decibel meter…AGW, not so much.
@John Steele – “They don’t want us living in mud huts, they don’t want us living at all.”
You hit the nail on the head. That’s the logical extension of all this enviro-nut/animal-rights crap, that the human race be eliminated completely, or, short of that, to reduce us to mere animals.

Yeah we already have idiot judges allowing some scumbags to sue energy companies for the damage done by hurricane Katrina down here in Mississippi and Louisiana supposed because of manmade global warming caused by these companies. Friggin idiots!

PB – That was my 2nd thought too – how the hell are they going to prove AGW exists. My first thought was another Twilight Zone episode.
Since Zero’s election, everyday has been like a daily, living Twilight Zone episode.
