Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew A. Snyder
Died March 03, 2006 serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom
20, of Finksburg, Md.; assigned to Combat Service Support Group 1, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.; died March 3 from a non-combat-related vehicle accident in Anbar province, Iraq.

At Matthew’s funeral the Westboro cult showed up and harassed the family with their hateful signs and chanting. Matthew’s father Albert later took the cult to court for their represhensible actions. He originally won his case but a judge later overturned it. In an outlandish decision this week the court ordered Albert Snyder to pay the Westboro cult’s legal costs.

Today Albert Snyder told Jamie Allman on 97.1 FM that the Westboro cult is tring to get $90,000 from his family.

Bill O’Reilly last night announced that he would pay Albert’s legal bill of $16,500 to the church members.

I called Sean E. Summers law offices yesterday and asked how we can help. They already set up this website– http://www.matthewsnyder.org/.

You can donate to the Snyder family– here.
You can also send the family a supportive email– here.

Lowlife’s, kinda like watching the KKK parade around. They have the right to do so but does it help your cause. I think not. Hate is a powerful negative and it kills your momentum. Oh swerved into why the WH is trying to smear the TPM. Oops. not taking the bait.
    powder is dry

  2. “Lowlife’s, kinda like watching the KKK parade around.”

    That’s exactly what it’s like.

  3. Wait, what? The court already ordered Snyder to pay the Westboro Baptist Church’s court costs, but now the Church wants to extract an additional $90,000 out of Snyder’s hide?

    What a vindictive bunch.

(From a previous article: “Lawyers for Snyder say the Court of Appeals has ordered him to pay $16,510.80 to Phelps for costs relating to the appeal, despite the fact that the U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to review the Court of Appeals’ decision.”)

I’m beginning to suspect that this is how this evil creepy mutant church makes money — make life miserable for people, then take them to court when they respond.

Yet another bunch of people who deserve to have their lives turned upside-down.

  5. send it to them in pennies… on the front lawn….

    and may they choke it….

there is a special place in hell for these rat bastards

    see ya
    cathy : )

  6. This is utterly disgraceful. Maybe those people should actually check out their Bibles, because God gave his people victory and defeat in war numerous times depending on their keeping of his Commandments, laws, and statutes. America’s success in war is more of an indication of God’s approval, not disapproval; although this can be subject to change on short notice.

  7. Where’s the President and his bully pulpit? I though he supported the troops??????????

  8. i’ve heard that some of these people are lawyers and they make a pratice of suing. real
nice bunch [gag] infringing on a time of sorrow..
probably cut from the same cloth as obama…….

  9. “I’m beginning to suspect that this is how this evil creepy mutant church makes money — make life miserable for people, then take them to court when they respond.”

    Ding-ding-ding! We have a winner!!!

That Westboro “Baptist” Church is not a church. It’s a scam. When someone only has their family as the congregation and there are more lawyers in it than missionaries, you know it’s rotten to the core – not to mention scheming God-given freedoms to bully – yes, BULLY – everyone else.

That is not a church, it’s a scam. And a nest of BULLIES, to boot.

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits.”

  10. @Cathy – rockin’ idea. I would be happy to help deliver. Might stay for a while “protesting”.

  11. What bugs me is the way they refer to these nuts as right wing. They aren’t! This Phelps guy is a registered Democrat. I read somewhere on a blog (which I can’t remember) of someone who had analyzed the WBC blog that their specific goal is to make CHRISTIANS look bad, just like those creeps who go to tea party rallies with nutty signs. http://tinyurl.com/yaz24aq

  12. Why is there never any mention of Fred Phelps career as a Democrat/leftist/anti-war candidate. He is called a “Christian” and a “Baptist” which he is not, but never called a Democrat operative and candidate, which he is. He is Cindy Sheehan in drag. What a twisted, evil bunch of people. Why can’t we talk about where this anti-war, anti-American, anti- military venom comes from? It’s right there in Wikipedia for Heaven’s sake. Set the record straight so people don’t think this comes from Christianity:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Phelps
Phelps has run in various Kansas Democratic Party primaries five times, but has never won. These included races for governor in 1990, 1994, and 1998, receiving about 15 percent of the vote in 1998.[57] In the 1992 Democratic Party primary for U.S. Senate, Phelps received 31 percent of the vote.[58] Phelps ran for mayor of Topeka in 1993[59] and 1997.[60]

    Support for Al Gore
Phelps supported Al Gore in the 1988 Democratic Party primary election.[61] In his 1984 Senate race, Gore opposed a “gay bill of rights” and stated that homosexuality was not something that “society should affirm”.[62] Phelps has stated that he supported Gore because of these earlier comments.[63] According to Phelps, members of the Westboro Baptist Church helped run Gore’s 1988 campaign in Kansas. Phelps’ son, Fred Phelps Jr., hosted a Gore fundraiser at his home in Topeka and was a Gore delegate to the 1988 Democratic National Convention.[15] Gore spokesman Dag Vega declined to comment, saying “We are not dignifying those stories with a response.”[64]

  13. Good for O’Reilly. He’s a generous guy.
