This is how radical statists guarantee that their ten year plan comes under One Trillion dollars.
They only count 6 years.

The Democratic leaders reacted to the cost estimates today just as expected:
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said the legislation is “the largest deficit-reduction bill that members will have a chance to vote on” in most of their congressional careers, The Washington Post reported. The package contains “more deficit reduction than both the Senate bill and the House bill,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said today. “This is really a triumph for the American people in terms of deficit reduction.” The Democratic-controlled House is expected to take action on the bill by Sunday, although Republicans have opposed the measure every step of the way.
They should be jailed.
This is how Democrats ensure their 10 year plan comes under $1 Trillion:

They don’t start up their $940 billion plan until the 5th year.
There’s a reason that democrats didn’t want to see these numbers in a chart.

17 billion out of our pocket for nothing. Then the program starts and it costs 923 billion?????? guranteed this is not a correct accounting. usually ten times the amount projected. THAT’S FREAKING SCARY.
Worse than Pelosi’s botox face scary. powder is dry

The health care plan isn’t implemented until 2014, so what are they planning on doing with the first 17 billion dollars? This is what Americans should really be worried about, because it isn’t going into a bank account to collect interest.

Give post #2 a cigar. Betcha the monies will be spent to shore up the dictators minions.

Socialist healthcare always costs more than the numbers used to get it passed – just check out any country with socialist healthcare.

This shows you how broke this system will be. They spend $14 billion the first four years and do virtually nothing. If it is running in the red those years, what do you think will happen once the thing actually gets going?
Militant Conservative commented:
Damn, give this girl a BOX of cigars. Just posted the same thought on a different thread.

What a complete WASTOID this president is for the American people. It’s going to be healthcare shoved at as morning noon and midnight for the next three years until we eat it or he is carried away in a straitjacket. No presidential trips, no jobs for the American people, no NUTHIN’ until we eat this crap whole.
I’m feeling pretty stubborn myself, POTUS-sham. Let the COLD WAR between BHO and the American people continue. Shoot, I’m so peeved at this point I say we break up the big unions just to add to Obama’s misery.

One thing to note is that the oft-quoted $940 billion number only pertains to the cost of expanding coverage — which is the bulk of spending in the bill — but it does not include all other costs, such as the providing more Medicare prescription drug subsides, which costs about $20 billion.
Good graph of this “spending” profile

“Now a lot of us love America and we don’t want to see this transformation into something that is unrecognizable this European-style of health care in this case we’re talking about but no so many of us who love America and believe in what our founding fathers providentially had crafted for us via our documents including our Constitution we don’t agree with this fundamental transformation of America that Obama promised us.”
gus commented:
Pretty phucking simple. It starts costing when the health care is actually provided.
In other words. We pay for BILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLIONS and get NOTHING in the first 4 years. The last 6 years cost a TRILLLLLLION. Just think about that for a minute. We pay for 10 years and get 6 years of service.
What happens then???

Unfortunately, we have been on the downward slope ever since Roe vs. Wade. Our country has inch by inch been abandoning God for decades now. God is a God of justice. He brought down justice on many cultures and governments in the past. He might just be doing it again to us. And, unfortunately, we deserve it.
We have killed millions, probably billions, of innocent children since Roe vs. Wade. God has the right to avenge those death.

60 MILLION babies have been murdered (aborted) since Roe v. Wade
60 MILLION babies
Hitler murdered ……………………..5 million
Lenin/Stalin murdered……………..50 million
US ABORTED (murdered)……………..60 MILLION
Mao murdered………………………..70 million
1% were murdered (aborted) due to birth defects, etc.
1% were murdered (aborted) due to rape, incest, etc
58.8 MILLION babies have been MURDERED (aborted) because they were “inconvenient”.

Name one government program that ever came in at or under budget with the republicans in charge. And with the democrats out of control spending, they make the republicans look like conservatives.

It’s like paying a mortgage on a house but not being able to move into it for four years. Now let’s add insult to injury. During that time you will continue to pay your current mortgage. When you move into that house in four years it may–or may not–be the one you originally bought. And all the money you paid into that phantom mortgage may or may not have gone to pay for that house. So, guess what? The price you originally thought you were going to pay has to increase otherwise the bank you paid into is going to collapse. And all the bells and whistles you were promised in the house were never put in.
Only an idiot would agree to this kind of deal.

ms – and now Obama is intent on having every American pay for those inconvenient abortions. Such wickedness.

They won’t have that luxury of time. They will be forced to begin paying out immediately. It is unsustainable, therefore it will fail catastrophically.

Yep it’s like a mortgage salesperson telling someone who makes $100k a yr (or less!) that sure you can afford that million dollar home with less than 10% down. Sure go ahead and buy it -it’ll be ok. Gosh, haven’t we seen this before? Thanks, Barney, Nancy et al.

Assuming the $216 billion cost for year 10 (in 2019) is correct, does that mean that years 2020-2029 will cost $2.16 Trillion?

Clearly none of you people are self employed and buy your own health insurance. Aetna raised the rates for me and my family 18% one year, then 28% the next year. Then my wife was diagnosed with MS. At that point if we missed one payment they would have canceled our policy and we would not have been able to get another one. This is the system you like????
Luckily I was able to join a group plan through the Chamber of Commerce. THe proposed health care plan is just a big group plan run by private insurers.
